haha love this Elaine!!
Very nice composition.
Nice wide range of sounds.
Could work nicely in a film or documentary I think.
A real pleasure to listen to!
Don't know why but I think I heard this from somewhere other then on Youtube. Anyways, I like the track you did. The Bass and the Synth stood out the most for me. I think maybe you should increase the volume of the vocals a bit. I had to listen to it a second time, because I missed it. Good Job.
Originally this was uploaded to mixposure so maybe you heard it there. The vocals were louder to begin with, but to be honest every time I heard them I laughed to myself...so I thought I would just tone them down a bit. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment :)
Elaine
it is the funk that outlives, observes, comments, and aids us as we try to interpret the human condition - this is a deep reminder and guidance - beauty + respect, Elaine
Pretty groovy track, electronic funk sorta. I like this one Elaine, it's nice you keep this genre rollin' strong with tracks like this, it's a really fun track!
Not a big fan of Funk to be honest as I always hatted that playfulness it involved (kinda reminded me of Mozart always and I don't like Mozart) however I always appreciated the talent the funk player had, it does take skill to jam along these guys/girls let alone do something worthwhile listening to.
You've captured perfectly that playfulness in the track and I really think you do understand the essence of funk. I can picture a bunch of guys/girls having a good jam along this.
As far as mixing goes I didn't necessarily like the dry feel of the track and it seems a bit centered but the arrangement is definitely Funk. The bass is excellent and i like the sound of it, the drums have a nice roomy sound on the kick and I definitely like that as it makes them a bit more aggressive. That lead synth is interesting and I'm pretty sure I know what it is but I just can't scratch it out of my head. Lol.
Hiya Malu,
It's interesting you refer to funk as being playful...in a way I never looked at it like that. Thinking back to when funk was big, I guess it developed as an antidote to the pretty dire times that existed...but anyway, thanks for the listen and review :)
Elaine
Ummm thank you, I think I have got more sophisticated. The other week I was compiling a discography of the tracks I've made...I still haven't finished, but anyway, I was listening to some of my tracks from a few years back and cringing in places lol. I definitely think I've improved over the last year.
Thanks for encouraging and inspiring me along the way dude :)
Elaine
Thanks for the listen and review...I love bass too. I remember being quite young and always hearing the bass in a track/song through everything else. :)
hey elaine i told myself when i get old im gonna tone thingd down musicllay, but it seems ur a t the level i will be at in the future, sweet soul jazz that sprins joy into mind.
LOL I read your review a couple of times and couldn't decide if you were suggesting that I was old? No worries...I am :)
Whatever you do, don't tone down your music...just be yourself.
Thanks for the listen and review :)

Had to hear this again great basslines throughout the whole track and the transitions was well done and the strings add a great touch and the piano is a great choice in any rap beat sets the melody very well ..enjoyed listening to this , keep it up!!!!
Very relaxing and groovy vibe here, I love that good bass, great horns!Everything is well connected and arranged, smooth transitions!
Great track Elaine,fav. this one!
Hey Alen,
thanks for the listen and great review. As is typical I have actually added to this track and will upload the update version a little later, although I'm working on a video too. I've also changed the name slightly lol. Glad you liked it enough to add to faves :)
Elaine
Sweet this is so so sweet, impressive synths, working along so nicely with the beat, again as I have come to expect from you Elaine is the clarity and arrangement are spot on, most have beaten to the punch here with this one, which I have to agree with most, that is one amazing piece of work...massive fav Elaine...Thank you for sharing this gem....Peace n Love...Estefano...
oooo, i love that piano, sounds like a wurlitzer the way it pans. that bassline is so good, super funky. that trumpet brings it to a whole new level. awesome song miss sharp.
Nice groovy number to repeat endlessly through my head as i head off to bed.
The cheezy rhyme was unintentional, but i'll leave it..
Good work, Elaine :)
I would imagine the hint of Hip Hop was generated by incumbents with their 'A' levels judging by the sophisticated sound! lol..seriously though,I really like this groove, mellow funk I would call it..and yet again we are faced with the hopelessly inadequate genre list,I understand why you chose fusion..however thats like categorizing Modern art under contemporary art...mind you my idea of what fusion represents probably is antiquated by now...sorry for the rant, odds are the upcoming changes will happen sometime after I expire from holding my breath!..cheers Dave
Dave I was on the verge of hitting the sack when I saw your review and rest assured I went to sleep with a smile on my face. Not that the thought of you expiring made me laugh but as we both know the full implementation of the "upcoming changes" might see both of us off :)
I have to say that I don't really like the Fusion genre...or that tag and I agree that it doesn't really do justice at times.
Thanks for the listen and review.

This is a fantastic piece of work Elaine. Love your voice, words and arrangement! Very mellow and chilled yet immensely powerful! Beautiful piece of music!
u gotta good voice thier but the recording of it sound a lil poor i can kinda hear a white noise kinda sound behind it, but the stick kinda hit drum thing are really effective !
Yeah thanks for the comments about my vocals...this track was made with my old mic and the quality was pants quite frankly, although plenty of people have used my pellas with the old mic and made some very cool tracks.
Elaine
This is another track I personally quite like too...I really like DnB but for some reason because I make a lot of funk tracks and do spoken word people often seemed surprised by that fact.
Thanks again for your time and comments.
Elaine
I am in the mood for this!...so feel good!..kinda music I relate your name with..very smokey and very groovy...this is the good stuff right here Elaine :) fav and downloading..thanks for sharing, good stuff. peace.

I still want moar from the drums.. but it's cool.. because .. like for me.. I can kinda geek out in a player sorta way and re-invent that drum line.
Still all the cymbals in the right place.
Bass is super sick.
Rhodes/Wurli forever. Best F*qkING INSTRUMENT EVAR. Better than the piano, Stradivarius violin, or Gibson guitar.
Super awesome trumpet too.. I think that was my fave.
I still wanted more from the drums.. (please do not get discouraged, I like to push you know?)
Faved.
