I'm a big fan of drum intros, don't know why but it started a long time ago with Parlament,Ohio Players..Kool,and even Aerosmith,Walk This Way. I do love it here with your track also.
You know Elaine, your guitars are always top and at their funkiest,I always think about what I could add as a guitarist and I come up with nothing...your tracks are so very complete,I love it!
man i remember when u were the green boss moderator with funky music, now ur a supreme female being with funky music that should entice us all to get our groove on.
Yeah the last few days I've actually started to miss being green...but I'm glad my lack of greenness hasn't effected my funkiness lol.
Thanks for the great review :)

Oh Yeah, Now that's what I'm talking about. It's that good old come back to me Funk. It's the Funk in you. Welcome back Baby and I'm glad you brought the Funk with ya.
This one is way groovy! Good to hear something new from the first lady of funk! Lovin the organ on this one! That guitar tone is out of this world! Awesome bass line! Great mix and arrangement! Sounds good my friend!
Mz. E, this rocks. Kept my head bobbin. I really like the groove and old school vibe. I'd love to hear Manzet spit on this. A true Gem. Keep slayin those beats yo!
Hi Elaine. Totally lovin this cool, chilled out vibe. Awesome bassline and horns! A really nice flow to the whole piece. Perfect arrangement and production. Loved it!
In your element here, so cool..uplifting and feel good music, a well arranged instrumental...I'm having a Monday salsa right here but downloading for future kicked back evenings, dig it! thanks for sharing.
Haha yeah you have that right about being in my element. I love all kinds of music but it's true that I probably get more enjoyment out of making these funky jazzy fusion type tracks.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and review and for downloading too.
All the best

Elaine - this is such a light-footed, spicy, spirited recipe. A gift - moments of serious delight like this are our best shared experiences - true delight and respect, sister
haha love this Elaine!!
Very nice composition.
Nice wide range of sounds.
Could work nicely in a film or documentary I think.
A real pleasure to listen to!
Don't know why but I think I heard this from somewhere other then on Youtube. Anyways, I like the track you did. The Bass and the Synth stood out the most for me. I think maybe you should increase the volume of the vocals a bit. I had to listen to it a second time, because I missed it. Good Job.
Originally this was uploaded to mixposure so maybe you heard it there. The vocals were louder to begin with, but to be honest every time I heard them I laughed to myself...so I thought I would just tone them down a bit. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment :)
Elaine
it is the funk that outlives, observes, comments, and aids us as we try to interpret the human condition - this is a deep reminder and guidance - beauty + respect, Elaine
Pretty groovy track, electronic funk sorta. I like this one Elaine, it's nice you keep this genre rollin' strong with tracks like this, it's a really fun track!
Not a big fan of Funk to be honest as I always hatted that playfulness it involved (kinda reminded me of Mozart always and I don't like Mozart) however I always appreciated the talent the funk player had, it does take skill to jam along these guys/girls let alone do something worthwhile listening to.
You've captured perfectly that playfulness in the track and I really think you do understand the essence of funk. I can picture a bunch of guys/girls having a good jam along this.
As far as mixing goes I didn't necessarily like the dry feel of the track and it seems a bit centered but the arrangement is definitely Funk. The bass is excellent and i like the sound of it, the drums have a nice roomy sound on the kick and I definitely like that as it makes them a bit more aggressive. That lead synth is interesting and I'm pretty sure I know what it is but I just can't scratch it out of my head. Lol.
Hiya Malu,
It's interesting you refer to funk as being playful...in a way I never looked at it like that. Thinking back to when funk was big, I guess it developed as an antidote to the pretty dire times that existed...but anyway, thanks for the listen and review :)
Elaine
Ummm thank you, I think I have got more sophisticated. The other week I was compiling a discography of the tracks I've made...I still haven't finished, but anyway, I was listening to some of my tracks from a few years back and cringing in places lol. I definitely think I've improved over the last year.
Thanks for encouraging and inspiring me along the way dude :)

I still want moar from the drums.. but it's cool.. because .. like for me.. I can kinda geek out in a player sorta way and re-invent that drum line.
Still all the cymbals in the right place.
Bass is super sick.
Rhodes/Wurli forever. Best F*qkING INSTRUMENT EVAR. Better than the piano, Stradivarius violin, or Gibson guitar.
Super awesome trumpet too.. I think that was my fave.
I still wanted more from the drums.. (please do not get discouraged, I like to push you know?)
Faved.
Downloaded.
