The whole background music is well made, and really plays a solid role for your song. What I believe is that you should replay the upfront guitar part. It is a good idea to give that distorted sound to your music, but I think you could enrich the part with minor changes to what you are playing. Keep up the good work Ian
Best wishes, Anthony
Hey Anthony - thanks for listening and the constructive feedback - like many of us here and in life (prabably) we recognise that we might do better but lack the will to apply ourselves - Im just a lazy bastard at heart
that mix sounding yummy on my headphones. bright dreamy vibe with your guit sound and i think you should leave those parts, it gives it a human touch and your rhythm guitar in the background grounds it with the groove. im just a beginner but im impressed with a lot of creators here on Lm , the improved their mixing and you are one of them. love from a banana.
Thanks Lu - yeah I keep trying to figure out how to improve the sound production - not entirely sure it's right on this one (kind of edgy) but it fits well enough : )
this is sick dude, i started singing along for a couple mins there is real melody there. Vibes are so uplifting and chill at the same time almost like "stoner rock" lol I dig it.
Hey - thanks mate - late for work but will try to sneak a listen to your latest some time soon
This one lacks some finesse imho - hence the rough little nugget description
nice piece Ian, its a real chilled out vibe, its gritty but has a softness behind it the guitars are actually well embedded together, really loved that soft transition coming @about 1.40, the drums sound really good and the mix is nice, a gold nuggett dam right that bugger flying of in the distant helicopter better not have it lol
I don't know what the word of the musical term is but I know what you mean when you say rough little nugget like it has a loud or I don't want to see distorted because distorted is distorted but this is not it's it comes together but I know what you mean though like it's really loud much frequency but it flows musically
Hey CC - thanks my friend for checking this out - yeah it's chunky and a bit different from my usual sound in some ways. Hope you are doing well - Ill go and check out some of your later ones
This sounds like a mash up of the electronic, funk, and hip hop genres to my ear anyways. Sounds good man and interesting rhythms and change ups. The drop in of the rap vocals flowed in nicely.
Hey Robin - thanks mate - Im heading overseas soon and nuts trying to get everything done so just reposting and doing a little listening when I can atm
Those drums be WILDIN. Love all the synth work, the sidechaining on the all the different layers is so fun to listen to. How'd you do the drums? Love the complexity!
Hey - thanks for listening. The drums are just a couple of loops then theres 6 vst instruments - most from Akai and one from Arturia and as you can tell some of those instruments have been extensively manipulated 8 or more different effects and sound layered - I cant really say I knew what I was doing as I largely just experiment till Im happy with a sound
This is a groovy little number, man. I dig it. I really like the glitch on the percussion. Actually, there are a lot o effects I really like. The vocals that come in at 1:24 have some really nice effects. I think for my own personal taste, they could use some reverb with a nice long tail. Either that or a delay with a high feedback. But that's just me, so take it for what it's worth.
Your placements and timing of the female vocals are impeccable. The ping-pong delay on them are super nice, too.
I like the way it just grooves right on through. It doesn't peak, or valley. It just rides on in it's consistent glory.
I don't know if I would call this rock, though. It's almost a triphop thing. Kind of.
All in all, a great tune. Thanks for sharing with us.
Take care.

Thanks V. Yeah this one I wasnt sure about for a while - had to work on that mikamik vocal to get it to fit but eventually I decided it was alright. Genre's Im often not to sure about either : ) - very much appreciate the listen and the warm and detailed feedback
You have such an unconventional approach man. Id like very much to have u here in the "Sewer Lab" (my tiny makeshift studio) and just chill & bounce ideas off each other. I sent that little mix I did with one of your loops as a test run to see what your thoughts are, btw. Ive been playing around with the idea of a discord for the members of this community, as the forum is gone, not that it was easy or intuitive to use, but it did exist. (RIP) I think a discord would solve alot of the problems that arose from that. Id be glad too help set it up, Im just gaugeing interest atm. Feel free to send me anything, Im defintely looking for some stuff in D#m, F#m, or Fm, I dont like altering the keys if i can avoid it. Happy Music Making, my friend. - Aaron
Hey mate - Im always happy to share stuff and collaborate where I can - dont always have much time but every so often I do. I sent you a few more bits - left overs- stems, parts from abandoned tracks (Ive a lot)
Pseudo making the sound so wide, absolutely perfect to the ears. Really like how you combine the rhythm with the vocals and the harshness of the guitar fits it all so well. Worth many listens, thank you!
i can remember my shock Ian, still love this smiling at the moment, reading or communcation, we were both still pretty green even a year ago, its nice to just get a tiny reflection of a moment just for a moment something that you possibly thought you forgot, thanks mate, you and HIp-Hop :)) it worked tho'
Thanks CAP - I think the other one "you dont love me like you say you do" , that I made about the same time, is a better track but I try to mix it up : )
Hey CC - how you doing? I have warped some of those vocals considerably to get them to fit - this was a relatively quick and simple track but I was pleased it came together as much as it did.
Hey Steven, thanks mate - that's my improv guitar lead (that a friend thought was harmonica) that you are referring too - I was happy with that - thanks for the warm comment
Thanks Glenn for listening and the warm feedback - Im not home tonight and child minding but hopefully will get at chance to do some listening and commenting in reply tomorrow! : )
Ian. This one is quite interesting. The brass gives an ol skool ol soul vibe. The acoustic guitar is right there. But the vocals triggered something creative in me and I could imagine another layer of sound. You might want to push this one further. Nice one. Peace.
Hey Mark - after listening to the Jazz and some other superb pro sounding efforts I sometimes wonder why I post these living room and kitchen table playthings - but its the warm feedback and encouragement that is half the fun - thanks mate - Ian
this was a nice listen first time round, just as good now but im 7 months more experienced, that background echo vocal is right in the pocket, the rhythm is tight and i love a bit of brass too
