As usual, your track defines a landscape and an atmosphere in a special way.
The melodic idea that builds the ground for this track is very good; nice touch with the little vocal parts.
Pristine production and clear mix.
Liked it!

hey Dominico! glad you were spellbound by the princess! LOL. still some mixing and touches here and there, and a blessing from Stohgs needed. but these musical paintings for visual paintings are fun to do. thanks again for stopping by. regards. Dan
Another stellar effort from you Dan. It is always a pleasure to have you describe your inspiration for each piece. This song fits the image of a beautiful flower nicely. Really well done, minimal yet extremely effective. I hope all is well.
hey Bear. just discovered this comment. glad you enjoyed this and thought it worked with the art. it's my muse and I guess I will keep going with it. all the best. Dan
A beautiful and serene piece.
Reminds us to stop every now and then and smell the flowers along the way!
The reverb works well with ambient type of music. Well done brother Midi. Stay strong. :) -B
hi. glad you had a chance to check it out. you know how this stuff goes. we are always growing and thinking how much better it could be. but each step of the way, if we put our hearts in it, we capture some kind of truth, something special. so glad if you were feeling it. best regards and greetings! Dan
I'm so glad I grabbed a fresh cup of coffee for this one Dan. Beautiful work with the glass bow synth. It is not easy to work with an instrument that has such a dissonant sound, but you did so with remarkable results. My only complaint is that it wasn't another two to three minutes longer, haha. I loved it. Time to hit play again and finish that cup of coffee. This one proves that less sometimes can definitely be more. Well done. I hope all is well.
i'm happy you had a chance to check it bear. the glass bow was a little tricky - you have that right. glad if it was working for you. we need to give ourselves at least a moment of satisfaction for what has been achieved, because we are always pushing ahead, trying to get to the next level. glad you were digging it! Dan
Very interesting tack here. I think this would work good in a film of some sort. Probably best in a horror or a thriller. Ambient tracks always put me in a mood that is indescribable. This one certainly didn't break the cycle. Nice work my friend!
i'm really happy it worked for you modnex. the feel for me is a bit ambiguous, and not by design. but maybe that turned out to be a plus. thanks for the positive review. best regards. Dan
Really strange yet peaceful sound. Could really feel like something was being painted onto my consciousness while listening. Props to you sir! The only thing I could say is to get a new water sample because its looping pretty hard lol.
I love the glass bowed effect, I have worked with ambient sounds like this before and it makes the best dissonant effects. This is a great effort my friend and i tthoroughly enjoyed it.
Cru
thanks cru. it was devilish making that glass bow settle down. i think i used 5 EQ plug-ins! nevertheless - yea - i came to like that sound in this. thanks very much for the thumbs up. appreciate. regards. Dan
funny all the places that musical inspiration can come from...I suppose my enjoyment of this one results at least in part by the fact that nature, atmospheres, feelings, places tend to influence some of what I try to do myself...it paints the picture you describe very nicely Dan...nice clean mix...looks like Spiv has some further contributions to make so hope to get back for a listen later....very nicely done....keep on....Ed
yes - I think you are very attentive to ambiance in your mixes. for me - these ambient tracks are an opportunity to learn the characteristics of some basic old school synths and get a few basic mixing solutions under my belt. if I have managed to speak to the art which is my inspiration I am really happy. thanks man.
Hey buddy! It's good to hear this WIP on looperman! I think you have some really cool concepts in this one. Apologies that I have not gotten to contribute to it as of yet. Hope to find some time today. You asked about the stereo/mono thing, and I guess I'll start by interpreting how I hear this one. Within, I definitely hear effects which are stereo in nature, and possibly stereo samples or synths (though I can't say for sure because of the effects). Beyond that, there is very little actual placement (panning) within the mix, which is I think where your question comes from. Even if you've used a stereo sound or plugin, everything will seem very centered. That doesn't mean it's mono, but I also wouldn't consider it a finished mix. With just this one track, that's all I can really say, and I realize it is "in progress" so don't take it too seriously. I will try to send you some contributions by the weekend! Great work so far.
i'm glad you had a chance to hear this version Pat. It was the first one to place the elements about where I want them. now, as you point out, the devil is in getting a final mix to be happy with. thanks. Dan
thanks, Alex. I'm glad you had a chance to check it out. struggling a bit to bring out the voices, creating something a bit richer sounding. best regards. Dan
really fitting: I am in the middle of a foggy afternoon... unfortunately I am surrounded by concrete buildings and not by a forest, but your track worked as well.
Once more, your track serves perfectly the picture.
Ciao, Domenico
hey Domenico. it would be interesting to express a fog shrouded concrete buildings as opposed to a forest. trying to think what would be different. I'm happy if you felt some connections between music and art. will continue to refine this one for a while. best regards - Dan
I'm happy you had a chance to check this one out. look forward to discovering your stuff more and maybe you will stumble on this one once more in a more finalized mix. regards - Dan
i appreciate your review a lot. i am trying to think what I might do to clarify the feeling - perhaps lower the drum beat an octave - more reverb on it. it is striving for mystery, some sense of loss perhaps. thanks very much. Dan
Quite an enjoyable expression here! Found it funny reading about your willow tree experience! I am enthralled by our willow tree in the front yard sometimes. It showed up in the background of the photo of my new microphone. We planted it and have had the pleasure of watching it grow for many years now. I like the bass part quite a bit here, very classic electronic sounding. Definitely the sort of art that I have come to expect from you. Had fun listening my friend!
was listening to some tracks to get warmed up for new work and saw I had not responded. thanks for stopping by here. I'm glad you like the bass. used some less familiar drum sets for this one but the mix settled down after a bit. best regards.
hi Dan. I really liked that futuristic sounding chord progression at the beginning. the tone of this instrument is also interesting. nice fretless bass sound at the end. I downloaded it - I think it is some quite interesting idea which might be developed into somenthing, we will see.
Best to you, Alex
hey alex. yea - it's a nice bass sound. wanted something very dark to stay in a chilled, ambient feel. it is called finger dark. it's on the old Yamaha DGX-200. thanks for stopping by. we'll see where and how this one goes. appreciate it. Dan
when i was a teenager a few a friends and I took some lsd at a freind's apartment, on the wall was a painting of a large potted plant. That damn thing literally grew when we looked at it! I see that crysanthemum doing the same listening to the music with it!! :D
I had a similar experience at the same age. my botanical subject however was our willow tree in the backyard. it got a little scary. this mum's track still has lots of space for effects coloring if you know anyone that enjoys that sort of thing! LOL.
While I was listening I had my guitar in hand, tried a few things that
didn't work in the traditional ways...

This is a really nice soundscape. Your stuff just keeps getting better and better. Love the simplicity of the piece with the big reverbs. Excellent pads and it goes really well with the pic as well.
Good job Mr Sparks.

thanks for checking it out Free. appreciate it. Was messing with the envelope a little on the pad and had a little luck I guess. stay warm in the storm! Dan
Cool sounds, very theatrical in it's nature tone wise...
Well that's the box I've known that sound to be in, I can
remember anyone using for anything other than...I guess
it's just the way the formula's played...
Huuuum...Jazzy kinda ride might work...
