Hi Chris,*

You know I really like this song, even though it gives me a bit of a doomsday feeling. I also like that this version is almost a minute longer than the one I knew before; it really enhances the piece. The new passages create an even clearer and more intense atmosphere than the previous version.

And you have a wonderful voice (I just have to keep saying that!!! smiles*). Best regards, take care of your ears, smiles, kisses, Manuela

Yes, feels quite personal and from the heart this one. I've been feeling a loss of control or agency lately with Iran and everything happening in the world at the moment. Been feeling like I just want to run and hide. But for the record, 'hole in the ground ' wasn't a reference to the grave, more an allusion to a bunker or some psychological safe place.

Thought I'd clear that up lol. Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, your songs always give me such a strong feeling... this one is no different. You're a great musician with a strong vision. Just send me the track without the bass, and I'll try something out... if you're up for it, that is.
Cheers,
Micky

Thanks Glenn. I liked the vibe, kind of hypnotic maybe. I've been listening to a fair bit of Krautrock and old German electronica lately for some new inspiration. Cheers Chris.

It is a really interesting piece of music. It flows like a gentle creek, calm and steady, it is not a river, yet the 2.5 minutes seem to pass in no time. You get carried along in its current, and before you know it, it's over. I think it could easily be extended. I enjoyed the vibe it creates, it is a perfect ambient track. Best regards, Anthony

Thanks. Yeah there's a slight raga thing going on there with the drone at the start. Re the other thing, I've got a slightly tidier version of that track I sent but the one you've got will do for now.

Chris! Short but sweet. The first thing that came to mind was Nights in white satin. The flow and polish really stand out. Great work here.

Chris! This has a hazy Calcutta sauna type of groove. Yep quite an Infectious groove. The synths are soothing and therapeutic. The bass line is raw. The drum mix is tantalizing. Creativity at it's best. A satisfying listen for me. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Chris,
A very interesting, atmospheric, and thoughtful piece. It immediately reminded me of my travels through Asia and vividly brought the wonderful Hindu and Buddhist world back to life. Your track gave me a truly lovely feeling.
Since the mixing and mastering are perfect, I assume your ears are feeling better now.
Take care while surfing!
I'll email you next week. Unfortunately, I won't be able to this weekend, as I need some peace and quiet.
Warm regards to the other side of the world, Manuela

No worries, get some rest! I'm sure it's well deserved. No, the ear is still no go. So mix and master done with right ear only lol. Wasn't much point on doing too much panning....tee hee

Thanks. Started as kind of an experiment really. The bass is in 5/4, the best is 4/4, the rest of the synths vary.

Hi Chris,

I'm absolutely thrilled! I was expecting a veritable explosion of musical creativity when such fantastic musicians come together but this piece is, in my opinion, absolutely top-notch.
A wonderful performance from the three of you. Incredibly beautiful and emotional jazz. I would love to hear this piece live sometime.
I really hope we'll hear more from the three of you soon. Warm regards,

Manuela

Chris, the only thing I don't like about this is that it stops at 2:10. Way too early, man!
This almost like a psychedelic rockabilly ballad. I'm diggin' it.
To be honest with ya, this reminds me a lot of our very own Mr. Tumbleweed's playing. Partially in style, but more so in the tones. I don't know if you're all that familiar with his work since he's been quiet around here for awhile, but in saying so, this is a very high compliment to you.
Excellent work, as always.
Take care.
Aaron.

Zootman replied 17th Mar 2026 - 2 months ago
Yo Aaron, thanks mate. Yep I know Tumbleweed and that is definitely a fine compliment, though maybe a long bow to draw. But I'll take it...

Psychedelic rockabilly...yeah that's probably a good description. Do you remember the Cramps? I'm sure you do. Not really the inspiration for this track, but they came to mind reading your comment. Cheers Chris.

Thanks! You must be delving deep into the archives to find this one. If it's unique it's probably because I don't really know anything about dnb! Cheers Zoot.
