Hi there, thanks man. I generally listen to your tracks on this site, but don't comment very often, mainly because often they are in genres I don't listen to much as a rule, or know much about. But I respect and hear the quality of what you do regardless. Anyway, that said, thanks a lot for the listen and comment, always appreciated.

Greetings Danke, muchos gracias for your amazing comment. I was genuinely 50/50 on whether this one was good, bad or indifferent. I hoped it was good obviously, but it is so good to get some affirmation from yourself who I have great respect for as a musician and human being. There were two main inspirations. One was your use of alternate tunings (this is in double drop D) - in all the years I've been playing guitar I'd never tried this. The other inspiration for the guitar at least, was Nick Caves track Higgs Boson Blues. I loved the minimal but evolving guitar that underpins that track.

Ha ha yes, I'm starting to realise that sometimes being high doesn't work cause everything sounds wicked. Can be good inspiration though sometimes. Cheers man.

Cheers man, thanks heaps for the sample. The main guitar gave me heaps of trouble, it's hard to play so slow, for me at least, plus I edited the drum loop into some sort of weird six beat time signature...

Thanks for the nice comment! I probably fluked the balance between vox and guitar given I had the two mics (1 condenser and 1 dynamic) positioned to try and capture both at once. Took a bit of compression to get on top of some of the peaks but yeah, the problem with the earlier version was a bit of clipping. I'm still very much learning the production stuff.
