I am liking the nice clean sound you have achieved on this, its more natural than my version. I think my only criticism would be that the last section feels like it all leans a little on the right side. It is probably a personal thing of mine though coz you have both the picked electric guitar and the strummed acoustic panned out there, those are two instruments I thought to be fairly prominent.
Haha... I mixed this just using headphones and my hearing on the right side isn't quite as clear as on the left. I think I'll go back and swap sides on the headphone so I can hear what you hear n then fix it up a bit - thanks for the critique ;)
I`m not familiar with the original...but this is just an excellent mix...can`t help notice the thought that went into the composition..with the really minimal sections...then the big beat parts (really like the drum kit) that carry a lot of subtle power....I`m glad I caught up with your version George...its REALLY well done in every regard so obviously even if I thought I knew anything about house music mixing I couldn`t dream up any way to improve this one....standing ovation from this old guitar guy......Ed
Thanks for taking time out to listen. I *did* try adding a lead synth and spicing up the minimal parts with a few bits but anything I tried seemed to just not fit, when I stepped back and looked at it, it just seemed to work as is.. so I left it lol. I normally end up with about 25 separate tracks on the mixer but on this I've only got 11..
My biggest critic is probably my sister, she never likes my music but she said she loves this one so I must have done something right :)
Sorry George but I am not familiar with the original as I don't listen to much electronic/dance music(except on the loop) so I can't give you any comparisons to the original. Maybe that's a good thing as I can give you more objective comments.
I see it's a wip but is this the actual length of the song? I thought house tracks were usually much longer? I do actually love songs at around 2:30, I feel you can pack in the right amount of goodness in that time. I gave this a bunch of listens and must say the mix is excellent on my headphones. Like the delay on the main rhythm synth, fills the space and doesn't overwhelm the singing. The vocal track is nicely mixed and you applied some great effects on them.
The song has a cool vibe, great beat, driving simple bass, I like that too. I agree, it IS sounding pretty damn awesome so far!!
You're right,.. house tracks are usually much longer. I've now finished 95% of it and re-uploaded/updated this track if you wanted to take another listen to the full thing!
That's one of the reasons why I like uploading remixes on looperman, not everyone's heard the original so allows for objectivity :)
that'd be cool, but you have no tracks or acapellas up on the site showing what you can do? ... Do that, and then maybe there will be an opportunity to talk further :)
just saw this in your thread where you're looking for a singer and thought i'd check it out.
for what it's worth i think it sounds outstanding, it's full and rich yet light, powerful yet delicate, massive yet agile, it flows and pulls you along nicely to the pumping beat.
took me on a ride, nicely done.
and last but not least good luck and all the best in finding the right voice for this track!
Very nice man, shows that if you really are looking for good music looperman is the place to be, because you and other artists around here really make this place special :D
Quality track, I hope you find the vocalist you need. I'm gonna put a link to a vocalist that I have used on releases and many others as well, she is always open to offers and very professional. Hope it helps.
Commercial or not, I like the sound. To be honest I would love to try my hand at something like this and see what I can do if anything but I don't have the proper set up to do this justice ha, but I did want to say I really like it though, a good vocal track will definitely make this amazing. Best wishes with it and more luck to you!

wouldnt worry to much about the melody georgie my friend the huuuuge club track 'Tolouse' from a couple of years ago a chris brown track both lifted a straight sample/melody from a vengeance pack and had no problems so I wouldbt worry to much about it sweety ;)
Thanks for all the comments about the track guys n girls, was really chuffed with how we ended up getting it sounding. Still needs a bit or adjusting in the mid range its a little empty but untill we get a singer and see what frequencies we have left to play with its not really worth changing it.
Yeah I've done some digging around and spoke to reFX about copyright n all that.. they don't sue their customers so we're cool lol.
There's another track on youtube with like 3million+ views that is LITERALLY a sample lifted from vengeance repeated over n over n nothing happened to that guy either. Although he did get slated a bit for it haha
Excuse me while I do my little happy dance at this! Haha. I'm so excited and glad I found about this site and the talent on it! I WOULD LOVE TO COLLABORATE! Check out my song. It's available on iTunes right now and its on my profile "Jonestown Massacre" most of the loops in the beat are made from loops on here! I wrote and produced it. If you like my stuff as much as I like yours we could make magic! LOL let me know.
Yeah you are right. I believe you need a female, soulsister. You need a real powerfull voice and :) for sure some reverb over it .... in my mind i already can hear her sing. .... If i would sing on this cool track :) then it´s the end of this song in this style :)
Your stuff is always a cut above the rest so i know i'm going to like it before it even gets going. Smooth as silk mix with an easy to listen to summer time vibe. I love the synth work and dig the choice of EFX. Nice breaks and good arrangment.
I hope you manage to find yourself a vocalist because this track is just waiting for it.

Thanks a lot FR, always means a lot to read your reviews :)
Yeah the ball's started rolling a lil bit more now, the lyrics are being written n a couple of singers have been approached.. should find out soon what's what :D
Well, I actually like commercial stuff, at least some of it anyway. And I definitely liked this one. You really know how to make this kind of track sound right. And, the production sounds so good. I'd love to be able to make a track like this one.
A really nice production. Great sound. Be sure to let us know here if this does get released commercially after you find your vocalist. I don't monitor the charts but it would be really cool to see something from a Looperman member on Beatport, or wherever.
This is amazing! The instruments chosen, the kicks, percussion, and everything else tie in together so well. The bass is very nice. The guitar licks in the various spots are very gentle which complements the track oh-so-well.
My favorite spot is probably 2:22. Around here, you had just decrescendo the volume gradually, then increased it, having that smooth come-back sound. The keys (I believe is what I'm hearing) is powerful and great. The guitar plucks also come in quietly but comes out gradually.
Such a great track! I wish you good luck on finding a vocalist!
I like it. I'm not into the commercial stuff so much so can't really comment on what it needs but I agree with the others that said some female vocals would round it out a bit. Great production too.

You might want to throw a lead female backed by a "don't let her get away" male voice. Just a thought. Good luck.

It really is nice to hear that other musicians admire the work I've done.. there is no higher accolade in my eyes.
As for being able to make a track like this? I'll stop by your tracks later n take a listen to a few n see if I can offer some input.

My favourite part is also the breakdown at 2.22.. and you are right, it is keys that you hear!
