Such an interesting interpretation - a Renaissance city sonically painted into an electronic Trance soundscape! Neon lights at night on 500 year old walls.

I think I understand why you have the intro as it is, and the previous reviews and advice for revision really got me thinking. My offering for some kind of compromise is this: consider adding some delay to the off-tempo tuned percussion.

If you can time the delay correctly, (delay at same bpm as track) you'll retain the original effect and bridge or merge it into the solid beat that it floats over. It will soften it a bit, but it'll still feel like that "old forgotten memories" that it reminds me of. Nice work here!

Hi DJ

Mate I like this track but I feel there is something missing, when listening to it, feels to me that it is not completed yet, base is there for something great but?? Not sure what it is??
Concept with your description I can feel, but like you said mate it was back in 2007 so will be really interest to hear again when you have reworked it, I do like the strings, horn sound little loud compared with rest of this piece, has a very cinamatic feel about this track rather then trance, maybe you could when rework make it into a Cimamatic piece, reckon that would work nice...hope that help you a little my friend...Peace man...Estefano...

Hey Man! Thanks for your review! Yes,I did make it back in 2007 so maybe I will rework it again one of these days! I agree with what you said about the horn being a bit loud compared to the rest of the sounds.I wanted the track to show the experience of being in a great city like Philadelphia at such a busy hour. That is why the track doesn't elevate any more then where it is.
Thanks for your suggestions man! You gave me some good ideas I am thinking of putting to use!
Have a good day!

i didnt really understand why you made the beginning that way. its off tempo and unorganized. didnt listen the whole way through, but from what the other people say in their reviews it seems apparent. you need to fix the beginning of this track, its ok though just trying to tell you what i think. im not trying to get you down, i just appreciate people who dont care what people think, they make a song, no matter what others input is on it and just let it ride. to do that is a feat in its own right, nice job and keep flowing

This is an unusual and creative trance track! It really makes me think of butterflies for some reason. I really like how the layers keep building up, it's very cool! The drum beats are especially out of the ordinary for a trance track, but I really like it, you've gotten really creative with this one! Very nice work!

Hey DJ

matey after reading the description that you have about your Grandma, then listening to this track, I think you have acheived what you were trying to do, very solid drum/beat and bass work, lots of diff tongues/voices going in all directions but not getting heard, like what your grandma must being feeling and being frustrated at not being able to get out what she would like to say, nice choice of synths also my friend, this is a nice progressive type of trance track, top work mate...Fav'd...Peace...Estefano...

Play 2 now...

YAY, I'm the first! Do I get a cookie? Haha, naw, but seriously... I dunno if the purists would agree with your classification of the track. Unless this is some sub-genre of Trance I haven't heard yet. I couldn't tell you what I think it is, because I'm drawing a blank (the drums are kinda Glitchy?, shrugs).
I think the drums, pads, and bass work well together, but ya might wanna think about goin back to rework the horn sounding synth parts (they sounded like they were coming out a little bit hot next to the main mix). The strings also have kinda the same thing going on, but less with their levels and more with their presence (possibly throw out some key variation here and there or just drop 'em down to where they're barely heard and slowly fade them back up).
I'll agree that this track has a definite sense of business (EDIT- opps, ment 'Busyness', my bad) and structured chaos (like one would encounter on a busy street in a big city such as Philly). Yet at the same time, the strings on this make me think of the humming sound of a planes engine, mid-flight. Anyways, interesting concept mate, just needs some slight tweeking and you'll be good to go. Later on!

I appreciate the feedback and they are some really cool ideas! Thanks! Made this track in 2007 and was thinking of reworking it a bit at some point so yeah your ideas will come in quite handy.Yes it isn't exactly Trance it's what I'd like to call soundtrack lets say with Trancy elements! Glad you enjoyed the track and could picture the atmosphere I was going for with the track! And yes Philadelphia is one of my fave cities! Have a nice day!

Play 2 now...

Cool usage of the Tat gun on here. I just love the way you can get these random sounds to work in a track (one suggest that I have for if ya ever go to use the sound again in the future is to have it be something that plays either off of the drums or with the bass)- That's what I'd do atleast, haha. And now that I think about it, ya might even be able to modify their pitch and use it to accentuate the pads or something. Anyways, I really dig the drums on here (though I kinda wish ya broke 'em apart every now and then to just have the percussive stuff goin or similar with the main drumline, was thinkin this especially at the beginning of the song on the percussive side {like without the kick drum}). I also dig the bassline, but feel that they were a bit too subdued (next to the drums). Perhaps you could go back n punch up their levels just a tad. At any rate, this was a pretty solid (and somewhat experimental) song. Keep bangin em out mate. Lates!

Dude so this has some cool potential - 1st thought was that there is too much fx on the vocals. With the part that repeats for the first minute or so, what fades in sounding nice, but it would have been nice to have more variation in the repeating part before ... those lovely strings came in. That is nice, but still the bzzzemp bzzemp sound needs some occasional switch ups in it's groove. For example, open the song up in audition or audacity - any wave editor, and like take beat of the 4 beat measures and reverse it. With a couple tweaks like that - as well as perhaps taking some of the reverb off of the vocals - you've got an excellent start and I truly - and this is coming from the guy who wrote the lyrics and the song - I truly feel that you've got the raw elements that perfectly match the sentiment and feelings behind the song.

Try this for awesomeness - the bass thing you have going on - put the FL Love Filter on that - it will be crazy great. Cheers! Thanks for the cool words about Mike's vocals too. He liked hearing that.

I was curious to see how Michael and you the creator of the original found this.
Thanks for your suggestions and tricks! I will be checking them out and reworking this track a little.
Thanks for your feedback! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it and that I managed to create the feel of the song without even hearing the original track before making it! :) Very cool! Honestly, I didn't really like the beginning of the track at all. It's a bit unorganized I was just really confused. As soon as it started transitioning, I began to like it. It still seems like a rough copy, I think a little bit of mastering and mixing up would be beneficial.

Creative idea for this track! That sample of the tattoo gun is way cool! This track really does demonstrate a growing excitement, you've achieved you artistic goals for sure!
