Hiya Kenikos, I made it back for a listen-see, glad to see you are still making music, beautiful this track, specially the integrated poetry, I've been making small movies, production management mostly, some title graphics and curdling my brain with academia, but finished 2nd post-grad year, may get back into some tinkering with garageband. You? Blessings for Christ-mass and Joy in the creative flux of 2013. BG
Hey Hey! What an awesome tune...great Jazz/R&B Vibe...I hear an Anita Baker-like chorus, very smooth. If you don't mind, I'd like to play around with some vocals.
This one evolves and metamorphosises through some very unusual changes but they all work seamlessly. I love the sound on the synth solo half way through. Top job Ken.
Hi Ken,
thank you for using the vocal. It's one that doesn't get much use sadly, so it was great to discover that you liked it enough to put it in your track.
It's a shame the tag system isn't available yet because I think this is definitely prog rock and a pretty fine example too.
Hi. Elaine,
I modified this track a little bit today to make it a little more "mystical." The steel guitar I had in it just did not sound right to me. I also changed it in a few other places to take out some clutter and to make the sound clearer. I hope it's a little better now. Thank you again for the poem and thanks for listening. -Ken
Thank you. I wasn't sure about this one either so I modified it a little bit today (July 10, 2011). I hope it's a little better now. Thanks again for listening. -Ken
I'm very glad you liked it. I have changed it a little bit since you first listened and it's not any shorter but I hope maybe a little bit better. Thanks for the nice words. -Ken
Your music sounds just as great here as it does wherever you may post it....always beautifully composed and great listening......Ed (Tumbleweed, Coot, et al)
Thanks, Ed. I wanted to make sure Elaine was able to hear how her poem was being used. I hope she, as well, likes what I made. Catch you later over at AP. -Ken
Thanks, Jamie. It's been a while. Hope you're doing well. I don't visit this site as much as I'd like to but hopefully I'll be dropping by more often in the future. Thanks for listening and the kind words. -Ken
My first track of the morning, just perfect to get my day going! Liked all the changes in this and the overall dymamics of the song. Very upbeat, positive vibe here. fav and dl, nice track!
I'm glad you like what I have here but I know this could be better. You created a great vocal track as a starting point but I think the beginning I came up with sounds too forced. I think the song does get better as it progresses but I would like to come back to it someday and revise things a bit. In the meantime, I do appreciate your kind words. Thank you. -Ken
A track lasting over 9 minutes is probably pushing the attention span of a lot of people in today's high speed world that's filled with so many distractions. It probably takes a little bit of a struggle for most to get through this one so I thank you for your patience and perseverance. Big smile to you. -Ken
Thank you for the nice review. I'm beginning to hear some inner sounds from the "brane" where I think I could improve this one somewhat but I'm going to let it age a little more and maybe come back to it again later. Glad it kept your attention though. One of the loops I used is called "Extremely Abrasive Synths" so I was a little worried about that (but not much). I like the weird sounds....glad to know a few other folks do too. Cheers. -Ken
A really enjoyable piece and an equally interesting discourse that preceeded it. you used some really great sounds in this and mixed everything really well with some very effective panning - Very catchy outro. Great work and a new favorite.
Thank you. Always quite a compliment when somebody picks a song as a favorite. This one is probably a bit long...kind of got away from me, I guess, but I liked the sounds that came out when I mixed the loops and so I kept going. My tracks seem to be getting longer and longer....going to hit that 18-20 minute mark one of these times....like my my guys in "Yes" did on several of their albums. Just hope I can always keep things interesting so the listener makes it to the end. Nice to know you survived the trip and enjoyed the ride. -Ken
I had to have a listen after seeing Tales from Topographical Oceans is one of your favorites.
Outstanding. The "celestial" vibe your working with here really creates a sonic space that invokes all kinds of imagery. All my favorite Ambient tracks do this, it seems.
Tales from Topographic Oceans is one of those albums people either love or hate. I think it's very under-appreciated and it's a favorite of mine...all 4 tracks. The guys in Yes are all superb musicians and masters of playing their own instruments; I can only dream. Yes's music (and Pink Floyd's too I might add) has greatly influenced how I put these loops together. Anyway, glad you like this one. Eshar created a great starting point. Thanks for the nice words. -Ken
Sounds like choir practice in heaven. Everything just fits so well. I love how you went from a very seemingly random overlay of sounds to a very organized and beautiful song. I was transported. A spiritual experience for me. So well constructed with a lot of attention to the listener. You don't just create music, you create an experience. Great job. Inspired. Downloaded with my respects to you as the artist. Kper
Wow. I love the cello and violin sound together and mixed in with all the other sounds- it's awesome. I find it hard to get into ambient sometimes because it can be too much. This one, though, was perfect in balance. You had a good mix of instruments and not one too many. It was unstructured with good structure- if that makes any sense. It felt free and natural but I recognize that you did not just randomly create it- it was just very well constructed. Great use of inspiration from the poem. You're inspiring me to try out some ambient at some point. Awesome track and a great addition to the ambient genre. Kper
Great track,Ken.This one has almost some aura around it.As usual, your music is very evocative and I guess evryone can imagine something different while listening to your track.I can imagine someone building a film around your music, lol
Cheers

I like your idea of building something out of the track. There seem to be two opposing forces in our universe....the builders and the destroyers. I think it's better to be a builder....as long as we do not destroy anything beneficial in the process. Thanks for the nice review. -Ken
Thanks...that was the aim. I narrowed my choices to Cinematic, Religious or Weird for this track. However, I didn't want to put it in the religious genre since I don't really want it to be interpreted as advocating one religion over another and I also do not want it to be considered weird. I finally chose Cinematic in hopes that maybe listeners would create their own imaginary movie and draw their own conclusions about the piece. -Ken
This is song is awesome crazy, love the different feel this song takes on throughout. This is a very creative song, very original, thanks for posting, definitely worth the listen.
I tend to make some long tracks and it's nice to hear from someone saying that the listen was not a waste of time. Hope I can come up with some more good ones for you to hear in the future. Thanks for the kind words - makes me happy. -Ken
