I love the eletric feel this track gives off.Master production work and xcellent ambient add on's as well.Overall a masterful piece.Keep up the awsome work with these lifelike creations and God bless.
Hi William! Thanks for the encouraging review and also alerting me to your presence. I haven't noticed you around before, and will swing by to see if you've got tracks up as soon as I'm able. This track is pretty intense, but I'm pleased with how it came out. Glad you approve of my ambient texture additions! Cheers.
What a spine tingling track with the affects etc, but so love it,one of those tracks that I had to listen to it right to the very end, just incase you miss something, thats the affect this track has, that you have to listen and not leave half way through, great collab, stunning affects and arrangement mate, one of the nicest tracks heard here, massive instant Fav my friend...Thank you and Peace...Estefano...
But is it music? lol - Thanks Estefano. This one was a trip to make, and each version a little bit deeper into trippiness. Finally I've succeeded in manifesting those audio hallucinations that I've been questing for. I sure hope I can translate what I've learned into something dance worthy next! Cheers!
Coming from one of the most interesting and influential creator of Ambient tracks on the site, this means a lot to me. When I started experiencing audio hallucinations in the first draft, I knew I was on to something. I'm really glad you appreciate this one. Thanks.
oh ... I love this track!!
it's great to hear music that is something like brain food ... I can close my eyes while listening and my mood changes into wellness mode ... that's awesome ...
thank you!!!
Rei - somehow I overlooked this review! My first track with the free Ableton Live 7 Lite - seriously crippled, but surpassing any of the freeware I'd tried up to this point. You've reminded me of two things here - 1) this I'm going to remix. It needs to be an extended remix with what I now know, and 2) I've been meaning to listen to more of your tracks for quite a while, so no more delays. Thanks for the encouragement and review of this one! Peace indeed.
Wow Whatta Collab. This was like a Pink Floydesque style journey. Love all the sweeps and bells and the bass which carries the song like a beating heart. Building and building. Very atmospheric, ominous and dark. Superb job guys ! - Bilbozo
Sweet. I wondered if anyone would hear some connection to the beginning of "Be Careful with that Ax Eugene," and I should have known it'd be the best guitarist on the site! I'm feeling particularly honored and blessed with this piece as it's my first collaboration with the medium. Feel like I've raised the personal bar a bit, but that's what it should be about, aye? Thanks for the listen and review.
yo. me again. just got through checking out this track. its ok for your first try at hip hop. stay at it and dont give up homie. practice makes perfect. i konw that creative mind of yours has somthin in it for the hip hoppers. hahahaha. anyways keep up the good work. got a new track up also. its called warrior. im pretty sure is not your style of music but still a review would be very much appreciated. PEACE.
My newest favorite HipHopper! I dunno - lol - I have a feeling that every attempt I make at your genre's going to have me dancing down an alternate path - like the frog and scorpion, it's just in my nature. I think it's because I so often deliberately try to subvert the genre thing, and end up bouncing off and landing somewhere else. Will certainly be pulling yours up shortly. Cheers.
This has an intensity to it that I like brought on by the drums and the great percussion. The tablas have a nice tones to them and sound really nice. On play three now and there is a lot of sound here! Very edgy, raw sounding, could hear this in a sci fi movie for sure. Def puts you in a certain frame of mind listening to it..
Hi Wayne. You've found one of my earlier pieces that I tend to forget about now! This one was done as a live loop mix using I Am The Mighty Jungulator, and about the time I realized the power of Max MSP. Funny enough, I've recently pulled up that old buggy software and am shocked at how it no longer serves the kind of music I'm making. You can really hear the percussion fiend sensibility I carry with this track, can't you? Thanks for the listen and positive words. Sean
haha, I started recording this chicks baby crying thru guitar amps lol....
I have been trying to fit my guitar stuff, and I just can't seem to find the "melody"...
I mean, I could use my guitar as a drone, something to entice the lulls of strings... (I like how you did it!)
But wow man! This certainly could be used within a documentary focusing on the minuscule reality that is acids and creation and evolution, and everything--- life....
evolution of sounds...
evolution of thinking...
evolution of the soul!
It's kind of cold, but thriving... unexplainable and undeniable.
I like that we can thrive on those levels conceptually ... you and I... even Dungbeatl!
Yah man, ... this kicks the living crap out of my first collab lol
Three levels of inspiration, (or 5 depending on how you look) each arising from the previous sonic experience - what more can be asked for? I love how the only "loop" in this is a sample from a `pella and that the track's creation reflects the "emergent complexity" of the concept. Thanks so much for this Abe, this was way cooler than I'd expected - the whole experience including the final draft.
Amazing description, amazing music, very visual. This is like order coming into the cloud of elements making up the thought of existence. The visuals in my head are remarkable: kind of like that bell-ish sound is a strange character putting an oxygen tank onto some sort of wall. They have masks on. There is a big heaving sort of master controller organism in the peripheral. Soft electricity is going off in the peripheral. The dudes are giving the controller some sort of new abilities, a new module. It is breathing from the foreground now. It has more than 1 instance of itself now. Kinda like gremlins: guess you all fed it after dark. Ah showering now in it's own enhancers. Exponential growth now. 4:45. Wow. You've so got to do an animation for this. Excellent job everyone. Was AJ the organism? Must have been some Easter.
The goal was music to invoke deep states of contemplation, and judging from your review I'd say it's working! There's life lurking beneath all that MIDI foundation, and it's really cool that it inspired alividlife and dungbeatl to play along to it. That they recorded this and handed it over for me to play with and arrange was an amazing experience. For a first collaboration, I can't think of a better outcome. Thanks for reviewing!
oh you know i like this, the bass is spine tingling, i have visions of trenching thru the amazon, a film by werner hertzog comes to my mind Aguirre, the Wrath of God.has the same intensity , that film haunted me for many years, but this track will give me inspiration for as many.
that sound in the first 5 seconds is awesome, track is inspiring daydreams, thanks
That first five seconds is what I did with Anomaly Jone's `pella sample, and it seemed important to get something organic and human in this. I hadn't considered it, but Aquirre is an interesting point of connection - so much watery stuff in the rain forest! Really glad you dig this one, and thanks a lot for faving it! Thanks!
really relaxing track n0m, listened to it and was sank into it more. it does have the dub feel to it and not too much of it. i great use of them natural sound elements.
loved it.
Hey brother moderator - glad you had a chance to hear this one. It really was a fun track to make, and turned out rather well. Thanks for the listen and review! Cheers.
Hey its been a real pleasure hearing this one evolve into a finished product, that deep John Carpenter style bass really grows on you as does the overall projections.
Still has that strong scientific feel to it, lab experimentations, possible cloning.
Reading your other reviews its amazing the different imageries people get from this piece, i guess that's what ambient music does provoke the mind and draw out those 'auditory hallucinations' you speak about.
You're one of my intended audience, so bare in mind that my compositions are geared to you! I'm finding considering a handful of people on this site keeps it from being too internalized and focused enough to share. Be prepared for collaborating at some point, because that comes with this perspective, too. Thanks for the feedback and encouragement, my friend.
ambient in it's full meaning ...
unbelievable production ... and very thoughtout concept, which is the most important thing an ambient track must have!!
brilliant track!!
kudos (lots of kudos!!) to you both .... ;-)
rei - glad it resonates for you the musical artist! Really drew from various sources of inspiration in this one, but took the challenge raised by the "ambient" thread in the forum. To me, the genre has lost a lot of meaning over the years, and yet the basis is so vital and important. Music is truly an emotional language, and the impulse of Ambient music should be to specifically touch specific emotions and mental states deliberately. This one is designed to invoke deep states of contemplation. Great stuff having alividlife's inspiration and elements woven into this!
Now I know where all the guys went that used to produce the Twilight Zone..definitely required playing on the tape machine during filming of Creature from the Black Lagoon!....man(men)this is very very cool..a virtual test tube moment in audio production.....aahh this would be great in my favourite cheesy scifi flick Forbidden Planet..when the Brain expander machine fires up....music that ceases to be music and replicates itself ...this is a new Viric...you guys better think of an antidote before you try something new!....super result..quite infectious..cheers Dave :)
This would MAKE a cheesy sci-fi flick happen! lol. I love your test tube invocation - though it's primarily and authentically Ambiance, we've definitely pushed it deep into the territory of Experimental music. "Music that ceases to be music and replicates itself" - yeah! Cheers for that. Music inspired by the transcription of RNA. No antidote in sight, but lots of temptation to experiment some more! Thanks Dave.
whats up man. how ya been. checkin out your lastest and this so wicked. dude your master at what you do. no lie. my hats off to you. i got a new track posted called walkin the line. i know its proably not your taste but leave great reviews. check it out and holler at me. keep up the good work. PEACE,
lol - no hip hop beats yet! Just divergent pathways popping up around me at every turn! Check out my track "Cantus Rannochio" to hear how miserably I failed at my last attempt at doing Hip Hop. I'll certainly be by soon to check out your track and see if I can give you constructive feedback from the ears of a happy mutant! Thanks for the listen and encouragement!
Some interesting sounds here. The imagery this conjures in my mind is a kind of brief synopsis of the history of machinery - from 18th century steam power to genetically manipulated and "purpose grown" bio-mechanics. In fact Bio-mechanoid would have made a good alternative title.
Consistently you are a great listener! I'm astounded that you hear the conceptual things I'm both drawing from and making a nod at. This really is a piece about interpreting Nature's Machinery with the limitations of human experience. We create things in Our Own Image. Thanks for such a profound and insightful review! You've got to be a good reader, too - you keep it grounded in the text!
This is pretty interesting, kinda freeky in a way. Very cinematic as well, maybe in a science fiction thriller!! The sounds complete a great mind trip and really stir the emotions, you just have to stay away from the brown acid when you listen to this one, lol.
I like it, very creative soundscape, the bass has a nice low tone that you added, sounds great in the headphones!!
I wonder if I shouldn't put in a disclaimer "Warning - this track draws from the Post-Industrial branch of Ambient Music: Not to Chill Out to." As a deliberate attempt at Ambient music, my goal here really is to create auditory hallucinations and some sort of altered state of consciousness in the listener. It's working for me - and I suspect others too if your "stay away from the brown acid" comment is an indication. Thanks for the review and favorite! To your offerings at first available moment!
Trippy to say the least, an epic voyage into soundscape. The life story of a satilite thrown deep into the cold depths of space. To discover new life or to have new life discover it. The first emotional response was fear but that gently warmed into curiousity of the unknown. The deep bass rezonating and throbbing had some wonderful sonic manipulation... cool stuff! The high-end frequencies have nice depth to them as the spin and swirl. Very nice work and thank you for sharing...---> floats back to reality dl-_-lb
*04.18.10 ~ noticed the update, plugged in headphones sat back and closed eyes...(4min51sec silence)... wow! I could hear a heartbeat growing stronger and stronger, this is alive. This has a soul. Technique is wonderful. I really enjoy your style.
I'm really pleased with the bassline, and manipulated it throughout most of the track. With the next version, I've achieved the most automation with any single recording to date. Fingers flying to keep everything slowly shifting. I'm rather pleased with the development of this. Thanks for the review.
I'm digging it too! Though I didn't hear the first draft. This is a very cool colab! That's so creative how you manipulated the vocals to add to the soundscape! I really like that idea of "Music to have a rebellion to", and I can definitely hear that aspect of this track. This is just mechanical enough to remind me of the mechanism of society that puts us into little boxes, I hope that's not an insult, as it's not meant that way. I love the bass on this track, it's like it's talking to me! ah ah get out of my head, there's enough voices in there already...haha. Amazing song you guys, I'm very impressed!
I was a bit apprehensive of the mechanical feel here, including that loping rhythm but feel better with this review. You get it! There's a tension created for me that tickles that 'rebellion' impulse. The driving bass was the second MIDI sequence I did and the sound that convinced me to keep going. Thanks for the review and encouragement!
Hello...and whats this..just checking out your profile for music and stumbled upon this...what a find!
Understandable why you would create a piece like this, sound and science seems to be the order of things.
Wow man you are showing some real diversity in style with this one, yeah this is clinical white coat material, injections and pills all in the name of science. love this deepness. well done man a great demonstration in ambient music. cheers
10 points to Salook for finding the first draft! It's turned into a collaboration with alividlife, and I'm still playing with the possibilities there. The next draft will be considerably different, but I'm think you'll recognize this draft behind it. The `pella is the first thing you hear, and weaves in and out throughout, but doesn't qualify as as vocals anymore except for the presence. Glad you're digging it, I really wasn't sure if anyone would.
This wouldn't be a Trance track...Been a trance fan since I was like ten. Have many records-vinyl!!! This would be more experimental / just weird. Sorry for the harsh review, but I don't like.
I think your statement that this isn't Trance says more about your own limitations than anything. At last count, I've found 23 sub-genres of Trance Music and this meets all the criteria of Dark Psytrance. I think most "Trance" fans think there's only Euro, Electronic, or Future Pop. I say more possibilities please, because I don't like music that all sounds the same. Not every track is for everybody, and this one's not for you.
Nice! I hadn't heard that at all in this until reading your review here. Wow. There's a hidden history about the musical influence of the Irish in the Caribbean and naturally the Native American influence is equally neglected. I think your on to something - and it reinforces one of the best aspects of music and musicians - we tend to roll around together and mix it up. Thanks for that!
hry i listened your track and , it sounds like a horror movie soundtrack, i really think you should try work harder and bult a melodic line ,and 30 reviews??? i am amazed, i think that i am the only one who dont like it , sorry if i was to critic but that is my opinion,
so good luck
cheers
Hey Criss_Nicksson - man, if I could award points for honesty here, I'd give you 5 or 10 for sure. When I encounter tracks I can't stand, I just push the stop button.
Personally, I'm glad that every song is not for everybody - it keeps things a bit more interesting. Cheers and thumbs up for your honesty.
