Saturday night at Ronnie Scott's club. A reminiscent feeling of the 60s, beehives and Embassy Number 6. Very well composed and enjoyable. Plenty going on without it being chaotic. Nice one. Kay0s
Hey Oli. Thanks for stopping by for the listen. Ronnie Scott's? I've never been, but the recordings I've heard are over the top. The closest near me on Ronnie's level is a jazz club on the near north side of Chicago called the Jazz Bulls. The basement cave like acoustics there IS FIRE! I'm happy you enjoyed the listen. Peace.
Hey Mark - Hope you are well. Always a joy to hear how you continue to develop and polish your beautiful tracks - that guitar work reminds me a little of my old steve kahn albums. How did I not give this a fav before - oversight for sure
Hey Ian. Thanks for swinging thru sharing your thoughts and positive feedback. Now you mentioned Steve Kahn, that took me back to another time and place. Steve with Anthony Jackson on bass was a lethal combination. Really good stuff. I appreciate the fave too. Peace.
Hey Rick! It’s huge having a fellow funkster stop by. You smiled? My mission is complete! The compliments are over the top. Let’s keep it going. Peace.
JohnSmokey. It's good you stopped by. So I'll tell you The Oceans reference is a big compliment. I just listened to "NYC Larceny" from Oceans 8. I get what you mean. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Peace.
Thanks a lot for incorporating my noodling! I love that by shifting the whole thing one beat it became even more funky.
The whole thing is a masterpiece as usual. The horns here are off the chart btw.
Love it and thanks for letting me be a part of it!
BaoBou!!!!! Really? HAHA, gimme a truckload of those "NOODLES" anytime my friend! Your contribution here set this one just right. You caught that beat shift move, huh? Yep, on the beat or off the beat I don't care, just as long as it's funkier! I did the same with the bass too, BTW. Peace.
This is super zealous & what I call "Feel Good Jazz" you certainly know how you express yourself through your art, this is freaking AMAZING! the sound is crystal clear, my goodness that guitar is showing off! like no tomorrow, bloody hell you have got that guitar down! to a "T" I'm so checking for this track well, I guess you did it again and my nod of approval gives this jazz-funk gem a heart. Bravo!
Angelus Hello! Thank you much for giving this one a thorough listen. You know it......... a little guitar shred can go a long way. You say "Feel Good Jazz"? Ok, I'm loving it! The reaction, feedback, compliments and fave are all received graciously my friend. Till the next round, be safe.
I expect this has changed quite a bit since my last comment, because I recognise none of my niggles, but I do still love them guitars. Great job my friend!
BaoBou. Thanks for giving this one another listen. Right I’ve done a little rearranging and some fine tuning. Guitar’s? Yeah my guitar hero fix is in effect LOL! Now on another note…… wait till I send you the draft of your track I’ve been working on. Peace.
Man, I love the way the rhythm doesn't turn out
to be what you thought it would be. I'm really liking
that string background on the Guitar solo along with a
plethora of Percussive accents. The 808 addition my the
track sound full and rounded.
BTW... I didn't know you were playing Synth on the track
you posted before this one. Mannnnn it's killer.
Ok Rob. What I like about what we do is we can do what we feel. I was feeling this one in a different way. In comparison to the jazz funk fusion this was a much needed excursion. Thank for stopping by for the listen, compliments, and fave. TTYL. Peace.
BRINGER MY DUDE! What's up? That's my day made with you back in the mix. Yep, I sorely missed you and the creativity you bring. So let's get cracking LOL! Also, thanks for sharing the effects this track could have on a person, LOL! Peace.
BaoBou! Lovely is what we do! Going back to further improve past tracks helps with the future challenges with new tracks, at least for me. Thanks for revisiting the lab. Peace.
OOOhhhh those delicate ear-Candy notes in the beginning had me hooked and then in comes my fave instrument the sax which just had everything on this super! classy smoothhhh!!! ride. That change at 1:40 just opened it all up for me also. What a bluesy! Smoothie! right here made me feel like I was getting dressed up to the nines with this sweet jam playing in the background to get me in the mood for a great night out at some classy! venue, well my friend, If I have never told you before you have so much class it's unreal & comes through in your AMAZING! Compositions, now this is what I call a Hot! Track & a Fave to follow. Bravo!
Angelus:)! I've been trying to catch up with you since 7/31. Yep, In my response to your comment on my track "Bring It Home" I forgot to mention how wonderful and the effect "The Bottom Of A Bottle" had on my ears. Then you team up again with heavyweight BM4R for "Secret Smile" where that one was awesome as well. Then you hit me with "Amazing" this morning, which is now my personal favorite. Don't pause ........KEEP EM COMING. Your sound is pertinent. Thanks for sharing your gifts. Now for your stop, listen, wonderfully expressed comments, and fave. I'm at a loss for words to express what your support and interest really means. Let's keep making good music, so our days can be a little sweeter :). Be safe, My friend.
Mark, this aint fair. You didn't have to do me like this. Carpet keys ally cat bass and melting saxes working the stereo field to perfection, what a perfectly made CHOCOLATE CAKE OF A TRACK. Sweet one player. This track reminds me of when I was younger playing smooth jazz in the clubs, when the sax player was doing his thing, I would choose a sexy lady to kik it with before returning to the stage to do a blazing solo. This one was very well put together. The song form was perfect for the simplicity of the track. You know I'm coming SOON. LOL PEACE. T576 OUT.
T576! Ok, so I'm relieved after your critique. The situation you described sounds picture perfect for back in the day! I chill occasionally. This is the outcome of that chill period. And yep the chill period has come to an abrupt halt cause my next track is BUCK WILD N OUT LOL. Thanks for stopping by and giving your expert perspective and compliments on the track. Also, gratitude for the fave. I'll catch you on the flip. Peace.
i can hear the adjustments you've made on this already Mark hats different and that guitar comes later, nice, cant remember that lift at 3.37 lead guitar and the very delicate harpers tap percussion behind it just after, keep up the great work
Paul! You nailed it! You caught the subtle changes. Next……… clue? I’ll just say it’s got something to do with my 808 I’m working with now. Stay tuned, it’s going get interesting. Thanks for stopping back through. Great ears my friend! Peace.
Jkingz. Thank you for taking out the time and giving this one a listen and kind comments. To chill was the aim and I’m glad you enjoyed what you heard. Peace.
hey Mark can only agree with Manuela, this is such a warm track, that sax is stellar, beautiful keys, that deep blues bass is knockout, great change at 140, love that finger plucking acoustic at 2.09 it's gorgeous tone, great mix and mastering mate fantastic listen
Paul. Greetings. Thank you for sharing everything that set right in this track per your ears. Especially the mention of the guitar nuances, which when captured just right, it's next level for any mix. As always, your support is encouraging and your musical perspective respected highly. The fave you gave is received humbly. Peace.
Great track! You know I love a horn section and the section at about 3:50 slays. Pure energy and sonic funk joy. As usual your mixes are superb. Thanks Mark
Whats going on Mark, It was just plain old time to get a listen in, not knowing I would have to call 911 to report that I've suffered a blown head and ears gasket. LOL. Out of all tracks you have, I had to stop here and get a light weight guitar spanking. I've been in the studio recording some HOT riffs. Will hit you up for a verbal when I get done with these tracks. It's time brother. PEACE. T576 OUT.
T576! The Stop and check in is always good. So me like you...... BUSY in the studio! Guitar spanking? Just where do you think the inspiration comes from? That's U BRAH! You make every note count! When your comment on this one came through, I was just uploading an early draft of my new one. It's all about that POCKET! Check it out and let me know how it sounds. I'll be on stand by for what you release. I appreciate your comments on my track. Peace
The energy is crazy on this track.
I've been listening to your portfolio
here on LM. You got the "Organ bug" bad,
you work a poor B3 to death:-)
I got a big kick out of the change @4:40
It was totally unexpected. The Outro starting
@ about 5:22 is the kind of controlled chaos I
live for.
Rob. Thanks for the stop by and fave. I confess about the organ bug. Yep, got it real bad. Your reaction on the elements that popped is always appreciated. TTYL.
Mark your showing off again, god dam i love a show off :)) great instrumentation as always, everything shines, jazz funk fusion is you. ive not been about much working away from home etc, so need to catch up. first listen and it was a pleasure, thanks bro
Hey Paul what’s really going on? I’m glad you stopped through. That’s good business on the new job. Hang in there, they are fortunate to have you! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed what you heard. The compliments are appreciated. Have a great weekend and stay safe my friend!
klmr It's kind of you to take out time for this listen and leave your reaction. I'm not familiar with acusmatic, but will def check them out. Have a great weekend and by all means, stay safe.
