Funk with a capital F - puts me inmind of 'Get on up/Sex Machine' by James Brown - great synergistic blend from the two of you - a very dynamic duo! Kay
Kay! Just so happens I cut my FUNK teeth on SEX Machine back in the garage band days. Its good this collab proved to be a decent listen for you. The compliments and fave is appreciated always. Peace.
Greetings, Well iam seeing myself enjoying this song with a good glass of bourbon in a smokey cafe hidden away in the shadows. I loved this track and iam glad there are still people out there who actually know how to make some decent good old fashioned jazz. I made some jazz songs myself as well but more with some twists and turns in them. And still staying loyal to the genre itself none the less. So a very nice track indeed. And thanks for sharing. Verdi
Greetings Verdi. Your stop and listen is appreciated highly. The feedback is fuel for the musical fire that wont go out. Im glad this one set the pace for your listening pleasure. Peace.
Greetings Richard. I'm glad to make your acquaintance. Thanks for the stop and reaction. On the twang, that's the sauce that gives the flavor we savor, LOL! Peace.
You are obviously a Master of your craft. I love it when the brass sounds comes in from 9 seconds in particular. TBH Jazz ain't my thing but I enjoyed listening to this one. Many Jazz or jazz fusion tracks have what I call alot of 'musical scribble' but this track is beautifully defined, yet with a Spirit of its own. Kay0s
Welcome back Oli. You know its an honor and privilege for you to stop again and listen in on my jazz habits. The fave says it all! Im guilty as charged on the musical scribble on some of my tracks. I aimed for this one to be sweet and simple. Im glad you found your listen enjoyable. Stay safe.
Hells Bells Mark - I loved it the first time - I have no idea what is different now - (though I cant remember the guitar sounding like that) but it's still an absolute sonic treat - equal parts intensity and musicality. Not one for falling asleep too.
Ian No problem if you need this one for a wake-up alarm LOL! Thanks, my friend, for swinging back through and your reaction. It does the heart well that you enjoyed yet another listen. Peace
I'm no good at words but I really felt this tune. An amazing tune my friend I could feel the energy.
Good vibes I felt like I was tripping without taking any drugs. Brilliant and thanks.
Greetings Darren. The feedback and compliments are appreciated. Thanks for taking the trip, my friend. It's good you found this listen, a great one. Peace.
This is super duper high-class jazz music indeed and hearing it again is like hearing it fresh off the press that sax is off the charts, love that transition at around 2:09 is SWEEEEETTTTT!!!! love everything about this, production sounds so crisp, you went to town on this Mesmerizing! listen for sure. Stay safe dear friend. Bravo!
Angelus! It's always just wonderful having you to grace the place with your presence. Then you hit me with "NO OBSTACLES". Your smoky vocals hugged that dope track like a REAL BOSS:)! An enjoyable listen with that bass hitting just right. The overall mix is spot on as the whole production threw me into my GROOVE ZONE. Thanks for the recheck listen here and very encouraging compliments, my friend. Stay safe and blessed.
Saturday night at Ronnie Scott's club. A reminiscent feeling of the 60s, beehives and Embassy Number 6. Very well composed and enjoyable. Plenty going on without it being chaotic. Nice one. Kay0s
Hey Oli. Thanks for stopping by for the listen. Ronnie Scott's? I've never been, but the recordings I've heard are over the top. The closest near me on Ronnie's level is a jazz club on the near north side of Chicago called the Jazz Bulls. The basement cave like acoustics there IS FIRE! I'm happy you enjoyed the listen. Peace.
Hey Mark - Hope you are well. Always a joy to hear how you continue to develop and polish your beautiful tracks - that guitar work reminds me a little of my old steve kahn albums. How did I not give this a fav before - oversight for sure
Hey Ian. Thanks for swinging thru sharing your thoughts and positive feedback. Now you mentioned Steve Kahn, that took me back to another time and place. Steve with Anthony Jackson on bass was a lethal combination. Really good stuff. I appreciate the fave too. Peace.
Hey Rick! It’s huge having a fellow funkster stop by. You smiled? My mission is complete! The compliments are over the top. Let’s keep it going. Peace.
JohnSmokey. It's good you stopped by. So I'll tell you The Oceans reference is a big compliment. I just listened to "NYC Larceny" from Oceans 8. I get what you mean. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Peace.
Thanks a lot for incorporating my noodling! I love that by shifting the whole thing one beat it became even more funky.
The whole thing is a masterpiece as usual. The horns here are off the chart btw.
Love it and thanks for letting me be a part of it!
BaoBou!!!!! Really? HAHA, gimme a truckload of those "NOODLES" anytime my friend! Your contribution here set this one just right. You caught that beat shift move, huh? Yep, on the beat or off the beat I don't care, just as long as it's funkier! I did the same with the bass too, BTW. Peace.
This is super zealous & what I call "Feel Good Jazz" you certainly know how you express yourself through your art, this is freaking AMAZING! the sound is crystal clear, my goodness that guitar is showing off! like no tomorrow, bloody hell you have got that guitar down! to a "T" I'm so checking for this track well, I guess you did it again and my nod of approval gives this jazz-funk gem a heart. Bravo!
Angelus Hello! Thank you much for giving this one a thorough listen. You know it......... a little guitar shred can go a long way. You say "Feel Good Jazz"? Ok, I'm loving it! The reaction, feedback, compliments and fave are all received graciously my friend. Till the next round, be safe.
I expect this has changed quite a bit since my last comment, because I recognise none of my niggles, but I do still love them guitars. Great job my friend!
BaoBou. Thanks for giving this one another listen. Right I’ve done a little rearranging and some fine tuning. Guitar’s? Yeah my guitar hero fix is in effect LOL! Now on another note…… wait till I send you the draft of your track I’ve been working on. Peace.
Man, I love the way the rhythm doesn't turn out
to be what you thought it would be. I'm really liking
that string background on the Guitar solo along with a
plethora of Percussive accents. The 808 addition my the
track sound full and rounded.
BTW... I didn't know you were playing Synth on the track
you posted before this one. Mannnnn it's killer.
Ok Rob. What I like about what we do is we can do what we feel. I was feeling this one in a different way. In comparison to the jazz funk fusion this was a much needed excursion. Thank for stopping by for the listen, compliments, and fave. TTYL. Peace.
