Those synth pads are real emotion grabbers Alxsix...and I like your compositional thinking in the way you put this one together...very chill kind of flow that makes me just want to kick back it my chair & hit loop play....very nicely done....Ed

Very pleasant. I love what you did with planetjazzbass's sample. As for the rest of the track, it creates some dissonance, as it becomes pretty upbeat after a minimal, dark intro.

Thanks Dan! maybe I should put it under cinematic, sometimes the line between that and ambient seems to be very thin to me...

btw... Joyeux anniversaire! Cette journée est la vôtre alors profitez en comme il se doit! :-)

This is so cinematic and mysterious! Very well constructed! BTW I love Dexter! This is my kind of ambient! Great job!

Hello Spivkurl! Many thanks for your kind comments. Dexter is a great show isn't it? I hope I did it justice here... when I heard that water splash sample I immediately thought of the scenes on the boat when he's getting rid of the corpses.

That's a good dark ambient track. I like this spooky atmosphere and it sounds well and well-made. Good job.

oh superb, love the swirly background rhythm...i think that swirly stays a bit too loud for too long, could be good if that drops back a bit as the perc becomes more complex...otherwise, way cool...gonna have to look into this genre more....dbl
ALXSIX
ALXSIX replied 21st Feb 2012 - 13 years ago
Hello dbl, thanks for the feedback, really appreciated. You're right it maybe is a bit too much for too long, will lower that earlier in the track and see how it goes.

Check the reissue of Porter Ricks' Biokinetiks for the ultimate experience in dub-techno, lol. Cheers...

A6 you have topped yourself.
To paraphrase Carl Sagan "This track will be encountered and played only if there are advanced space-faring civilizations in interstellar space. But the launching of 'ALXSIX' into the cosmic 'ocean' says something very hopeful about life on this planet."
Truly taken up and awed, brother.

That vocal sample was so beautiful and inspiring I had to do something with it.

Glitcyhness indeed. how goes it ALX? Been a while eh. i wish i could have something to show for since the loop shut down. but i have learning a great and considerable amount of skills and techniques that i'm also spending months on end to perfect even just "one" of new tracks. i'm planning a major comeback my friend, in the genres of cinematic, dubstep, drum and bass, hip hop, techno, electronic and so much more. i got so many new projects started and progressed but i'm not going to rush anything. anyways this is great work right here ALX. you should be a full time glitch artist you really know how to make it glitch hehe peace out

Love it! This would make an excellent backdrop for one of thos terminator style 3D shooters. I can just imagine creeping around corridors with menacing robots lurking round dark corners ready to try and take you out.
Great computer language effects.

Another brilliantly pieced together track. I feel i should have it on louder as i can hear there's some heavy bass which i'm missing out on at low level (It's too early in the morning to crank it up)
This reminds me a little of somne of the Aphex Twins earlier stuff which is definiteley meant as a compliment.

I'm not too familiar with glitch stuff so i found this interesting. It's almost like a techno/ambient crossover which on paper are two genres that shouldn't really work together.
This does though, The thumping reverberated drums and the atmospheric synths combine together to form a kind of astral effect which reminds me of being at warehouse partys and feeling a bit lost in space.
An original piece mate and one i'd like to hear again.

ALXSIX replied 14th Dec 2011 - 14 years ago
This one might have a bit of techno in it indeed. Glad you brought that up, I'm not used to the genre. I wanted to make something a bit more danceable than usual and that's what came up!
Thanks for your listen and nice comments, really appreciated.

I really like that arpeggiating bass, it sounds really cool! I can hear that this one must've been a real challenge! Lovin the break, very trippy! Really good arrangement takes me on a journey! Very groovy song!

I'm always learning myself, and do everything by ear so I wouldn't be a good teacher.

your sound is distinctively ALXSIX.
flowing, refreshing styles with tough reinforced rythms.
it sounds like an epic amount of work from start to finish.

is your work still based on "reason"and the likes?
i could listen to your tunes anywhere,in soundtracks, whatever!
release it!
