I'm very happy with the bass line on this one too, glad you liked it.
The reason I didn't go with much in the way of pads, was to keep the focus on the melodies. I felt they deserved a big part of the mix. If I go back and work on this some more, I'll keep your suggestion in mind though.

I think my style of dub is a little non traditional, judging by the reviews I've gotten. But I think it's still the best genre for the track.

2 track I have come in to play of yours man, you have one BIG FAN here, so love this track, dont know if I need a coffee or something to calm me down, this is so professional this track, hope you are so proud of it mate, if it was my track would be so over the moon with it, maybe one day I might get close to doing a master piece like this, you are a brilliant artist..I have about 5 fav artist here now I can make that 6, so need to have something to calm down now, keep up the brillianr work man...keep it coming plz plz...

I'm fairly proud of this track, other than my having messed up the dynamics a little bit with distortion and the like. But it still works good with the theme of the track I guess.
It sounds like listening to this was like drinking some coffee for you, so that sounds like a success. :)

Mastering is where you have a lot of opportunities... I feel... mastering to me, is about pulling out all of the sounds, and giving them a right place...
allowing pitch and frequency to lay flat against a constant moving speaker... kinda....

I don't feel that I am infallible or a master at mastering btw..
your mastering is great!
I just think this could shine more with more left and right disparities, and perhaps higher frequencies.. I may be wrong...
I tend to do metal type mastering, but if you don't mind, i could totally bring out some stuff??

I appreciate what you said about me having a theme, I try my best. Which leads me to what you've said about mastering. I used to try and master my tracks to perfection, with some pretty good results. More recently I've been using mastering as an artistic tool, generally to help give my tracks a signature sound.
This track I think is still lacking a bit, like you've said. I don't know if I'll be going back to it though. Probably because some of the tracks I did around this time bore me a bit. :)

Bauhaus is definitely an influence on my work, especially on tracks I do vocals for. Martin Hannet, the producer for Joy Division? I'm very familiar with his work, I love Joy Division and New Order a lot.
