I didn't find it depressing...perhaps contemplative might be the term I'd use. I like the crisp, clear sound of the guitars...and you harmonize quite well with yourself. Very nice.
You have such a signature style, it comes through on every track I hear from you. This song has so much of a polished edge to it, much pop potential! Wayne's bass seems to settle right into this mix too, I'd like to hear more collaboration between you two! Great work!
Thanks a lot,Spivkurl. It really means a lot to me that you're reviewing people so frequently and I think you're one of the loopers that make this site such a great community.Glad you say I've got a signature style. You got it too as well as Wayne.Maybe it's just a question of putting a lot of ourselves in our tracks.
Thanks again

Wow, welcome back to rock. I really hate these genre bins, but at the same time I'm a complete fool for that kinda rhythm guitar sound you got going here. Great work.
Plus, as I should have said before, great pun!
Thanks for that nice review Michael.I don't care too much for genres either but i have to admit this one has def a new wave feel to it.Glad you enjoy
French Kid
Catchy little number, like it a lot. Def 80's new wave feel like jfw stated.
I'd sure like a shot at a bass line if you would like to work with me!!
Review Update:
I downloaded the song and I'll figure something out. How do you want me to send you the track? And what format, .mp3, .wav...?
How would you like to do some guitar work on a country/swing song I working on right now. Drums, bass, vox and an acoustic track is done, just needs some guitars and finishing touches. I could post it as is I suppose?
Thanks,
For some reason this reminds me of 1980's new wave, as does much of your material. In particular you remind me of an early 80's group called Gruppo Sportivo, I think part of it is the subtle french accent on the vocals, although they were from Holland. They had a great track out called "Beep Beep love". Nice one - keep them coming.
I know youve already gotten a lot of reviews on this but i had to say something. Im lovin this tune. This could be a hit. It reminds me of pink floyed. Perfect song writing skills on this. Its amazing that you can write music and play it. Write lyrics and sing it. And do it at the same time. I cant do that. Very very talented.
Thanks so much for this nice review.Since I started playing the guitar,I've always been more interested in songwriting and arrangements than improving my technical skills. That's why you won't hear any Jimmy Page like solos on my tracks, lol.
Cheers

Thanks for the review.Just fell in love with those drum loops. The guitar is quite funky, more my style but i had so much fun making that track.Happy you had fun listening
I like how you make the simple chord progression really funky and cool. I thought the bassline was set and played real well. Vocals sound good, nice melodies to complement the music. Sweet tune
My favorite version of this song! The mix is real sweet, everything is right out front. It really makes a difference, the vox and guitar have a nice seperation and I love that guitar sound. I GOTTA BUY ME ONE OF THOSE RIVIERAS!!!!
The chorus on my recording software is a very heavily used effect in Humpland. I'll use it to seperate or widen the stereo field of what I'm recording rather than give the track that swirly, chorusy sound. I use it a lot when I record my acoustic. It really fattens the sound and when you add a bit of reverb....that's what I'm talking about, hahahah!!
I really liked this, nice vocal harmonies, dark tune but not too dark. Interesting choice of notes on the guitar, could have fallen into the 80s sound but somehow you manage to make it sound new and fresh, refreshing to hear! Thanks for sharing.
Closed my eyes and it took me to a Tube Station in the London area (can't remember which one)...I heard an awesome busker. The delivery is so cool, the kind you can't achieve when yur trying to be cool. Basic and highly effective. Love it. Wish I had you vox talent. Awesome
Wow!Thanks for this very kind review.Glad you liked it.I wanted to write more tracks in this style, just guitars and vocals.Happy you appreciate

There is a part in the lead that I'm not too sure about, it might clash a bit with your lead. Take a listen and see what you think.
I think, overall, the track works with the song well. It was fun working it out.
