Aaah..this is excellent ..getting that close to the bridge hard playing sound on the acoustic guitar to match the opening SciFi effects was brilliant...a seamless transition into the synth pads and viola we have lift off..At the moment I'm following a superb series "Voyage to the Planets" on television ,so this track comes as a very poignant backdrop for those images....an epic sound scape you've portrayed, but with the humanness that makes it all that more breathtaking and fragile...fantastic work! cheers planet :)

Very well done track man! Although, there were parts of the song that I thought were happy... where I didn't understand because if I were to see the earth die... I wouldn't know what to do. Yet, the good and bad moments I'd probably think of, so I suppose it was appropriate. The instruments were exceptionally well used, and worked in every setting. Definetely put myself in the position of Spok on the recent Start Trek movie where his planet is consumed by the red liquid black hole.
I enjoyed this man, well done! Keep it up!
In fact, I'm going to fav it... props bruv.

Hey, thanks for the review and fave. I can see how some of the sounds, the acoustic and poly synths mostly, have really happier tones. Though, I never actually thought about the character looking back at happier time. Kinda fits in my head more. The Spock reference is really cool. Forgot about that scene lol. Thanks and Cheers :D

Thanks for the review. Highly recommend the film. Nothing like 'Requiem For A Dream', but beautiful in it's own right. Cheers :)

Very nice. I could almost hear a nice bass line playing along to it in my head as well as a some Timpani being played to push home the emotion a bit more. Of course there are some other things I might do to it personally but as it stands now, it is a great song.
MCHN
MCHN replied Unknown
Thanks for the review. At one point there was a very basic bassline that was just a D# chord(D# G A#)arpeggio. Didn't fit well. Kinda pushed the drums away. Timpani is a great idea. Might have a go with that. Cheers :)

your description actually really sets the mood well! nice accessible piece. each segment is wonderfully weaved in. Cant believe that guitar is not played live! sounds fantastic. really nice work

Thanks for the review. Yea, midi guitars usually don't sound to good, but layered on top they fit really well. Cheers :)

Great trip! It really sounds scifi and "lonely", it fits very well with your description! The "guitar" melody is really cool, good work!
MCHN
MCHN replied Unknown
Thanks for the review. The isolated feel was something I didn't know if people would get. Had to come up with an elaborate description. Worked well by the reaction its got. The guitar I wanted to have an Ennio Morricone feel to it. Kinda hard to do with midi. Overall though I liked it. Thanks for reviewing, Cheers :)

Wow I started daydreaming when I heard this. Ya know very few tracks can really make me kind of "just stop and listen" and your track achieved that. Very emotional journey and I love that about songs. FAV!!!!!

Thanks. Yea, the idea of being totally alone and just drifting out is just crazy. It's like 2001 and Hal's not there lol. Thanks for the review, appreciate it. Cheers :)

I really love it man...

Life and Love huh?
Totally fits the bill....
I was hearing delay on the Rhodes lead.. and fading into chaos...
Some drum variations.. but I know how it goes....

Everything is superb man...
I am really glad to meet your music MCHN.
MCHN
MCHN replied Unknown
Yea a slight delay on the Rhodes. It kinda changes with that time stretch on. Just a slight tweak on a preset but really made it a bit better. Yea, biggest weakness is my drums. Usually program up to 8 bars all with variations but I just almost always keep the same 1 bar loop. It's something since the beginning that I haven't broken my writing from. Gotta expand more on that. Thanks for the review again. Cheers :)

Hah! Yes!

I like your description more than the track almost!

NO!

This is giving me serious chills!
I love it man!
Dude...
You got style .....!!
I almost thought of ... you know a bridge would be cool.. but I like the whole flowing of it...
You can tell that the guitars are midi, but they sound soo amazing... makes me want to give Reason a hug lol.....

I think to make this even more a bit endearing would be to have a girl on a HP filter or like telephone effect with the whole "radio buzzing" thing saying "Come Back Home!" or "I love you!" or something you know???
Humnn

Very cool man!
I am going to keep an eye out for your work!
Coming over to hear another!
MCHN
MCHN replied Unknown
Thanks :)
Yea, those Reason acoustic guitars are sometimes great for thickening up or layering on top of some of my own recordings. It's funny about the "Come back home" thing. There was at one time a sample from the movie 'Pandorum', with the line "your our last hope" or something. Great minds think alike I guess lol. Greatly appreciate the review. Cheers :)

The last half of the track reminds me of the nine inch nails "just like you imagined" track but the build up definatley some kmfdm, this track is a masterpiece definatley a fav great job!!

Thanks for the review. NiN comparison is greatly appreciated. Just like you imagined and the whole of 'the fragile' are big inspirations. This song needs to be finished someday. I listen to it sometimes and wince. For what it was then, sounded great. Now though, lol. Need to toss this back in my WIP folder and redo it. Thank you for the review. Cheers :)

I really love this track! I am a big KMFDM fan, and this is the direction I have been trying to get my music. It's difficult, but finding artists like yourself is definitely encouraging. If one wanted to take their sound to something like this, which tutorials would you suggest? Are there any other tips that you would give?

I recently downloaded a few of your loops and samples, which is what lead me to listen to your tracks. You definitely have a lot of talent when it comes to industrial. I started out doing techno, and I'm having trouble progressing to a darker sound, and more specifically in creating my own loops and samples. I mostly used a lot of samples, and layers to create my tracks. Some things I created from scratch, but mostly I used samples from techno e-jay. Crappy program, but it had a lot of good sample. I started using FL a while back, but then I did away with windows and am now using an FL clone called Linux MultiMedia Studio.

Anyway, I'm rambling here. So I just wanted to show my appreciation for your work, and to ask for any pointers you could offer. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. Been gone a long time and just got the email a day or 2 ago. Firstly, thanks for the listen. KMFDM are always on my list of go to artists in industrial music. As far as tut's or tips, I can't really name anything off the top of my head. I started out using Ableton live and really kinda made cheezy EBM and bad techno stuff with bad guitar sounds lol. I kinda learned a lot from different genres of electronic music. Goa, psytrance, dance, etc.. then kinda incorparated that into heavier industrial stuff. I've heard some crazy stuff with FL though. If that program is like FL I think your on a good path. Like my loops and samples are really just either heavily distorted or crushed, or filtered and automated to make something totally new. I also use drones alot. Drone samples are kinda like the eerie creepy noise in alot of industrial. You can also check out here on looperman in the production trickbook. Theres alot of ideas on how to do all sorts of stuff there. It's kinda unorganized but there are some stuff of use there. I just try to emulate certain things and sometimes I get something that's really good and sometimes I get nothing. Sorry if thats not to understandable lol. If you have any questions feel free to drop a line here and Ill get the email. Cheers and thanks for listening.

VERY good song overall! One of the best techno industrial mixes I've heard on looperman! Reminds me a little of old Ministry, the guitars remind me a of ramstein, the mastering on this is very good! Seriously, I really dig the mix, you are blessed to have someone to do this for you, my mastering ability's are dick, I wish i knew someone that could master, I think im gonna have top read up on it sometime soon.

I like the sound on this one, kind of a filter/nickelback bass (nb in a good way lol) bass line ahs a good grove & feel, love the synth/guitar solos all the way through, i kept expecting some lead from a heavy crunchy guitar, but thats all right what fun would predictibility be? anyways good tune, could use some vocals!
MCHN
MCHN replied Unknown
Hey man, thanks for the review. Haha Nickelback. Nothing wrong with them lol. Filter though is a big compliment. There was supposed to be live guitar and bass but things got all sloppy on my end for that. One of my friends wanted to sing on this just for the hell of it but alcohol and vocals never sound great lol. Cheers
