It's got a really simple, easy, relaxing vibe that can so easily be enjoyed. And some tight grooves. That very first vocal also sounds wonderful.
I think I prefer this to many of your others because the grooves are tighter and there's lots of good space and it has a really clear direction. It could definitely be a popular single - I totally agree with that view.
Oceanically has a great tone to her voice here and I also really like the little guitar breaks. Good to hear them repeated.
Does every track of yours have to end with a long, gentle fade?
I felt this should have been longer - at least 5 minutes.
hey. thanks for some nice words man. much appreciated! indeed there are some real instruments here: funky guitars, jazz sax line and of course very stylish vocals. I do not listen to trap very often but it is nice to find some connections. thanks again for listening and nice review.
You have the best of musical company for this one Alex and I understand the kind of compositional thinking and work that goes into make it all come together so well...You did a super job on it..I worked on a mix a couple of weeks ago that I wanted to get some of Joe`s piano loops into but I didn`t like what I was adding so its still on a back burner somewhere...nice idea getting Shamoozey`s vocal in there..it sets it apart nicely....well done...good listening too..Ed
I am really happy that you liked the arrangement and my vision on this song! I did it very quickly on headphones so there are probably still many anomalies in the actual mix. Now I can hear them so do not worry haha. There is no processing on the acapella. I must say I was playing this version on internal laptop speakers earlier today and it sounded harmonically painful to me. There is still no real bassline on this track.
I am still too much into a real life at the moment. I whish I could contribute more as a real player and music creator sometime.
Thank you for listening and the kind words. It is much appreciated!
Best to you, Alex
Very nice late night sound to this.
I love the way some of you use Oceanicallys voice and lyrics so professionally.
It's something I have to learn but am still struggling with.
This is nice and easy to listen to but there is no way I can get someones vocals into anything without it sounding like crap no matter how good the vocals.
Well done on a very professional sounding piece of work.
Man, I'd hug ya if I were near ya!! You are correct, this is without a doubt your BEST work!!! If I were you, I'd release it as a single, like yesterday! Okay, enough with the exclamation marks...you get the idea...I love it. Well done, you.
How did I miss this amazing piece! Very cool collaboration! Crazy high frequency stereo synths in here, love it. Oh, and it's downloadable! Thank you for that! Loved reading the lyrics, and your influence is fully evident in this finished product! One of new favorites here on the site!
Your reply was really inspiring. I am not sure I had a quite proper understanding on all the tricky techniques you applied by making that tune though haha. Thanks again for nice inspiration and discussing the details!
I used Microbrute in here (so far it is on the left channel only - I will need probably to get different cables to fix that) so there's some amount of analogue sound present. Not sure about the Electro label here - I do not listen too much to the proper Electro music - let us say it is my original/experimental take on Joe's acapella...
I am really happy you liked what I did here!
Thank you once again for nice words and the fave! As always it is much appreciated.
this is an older song but somehow still fresh and maybe even better from all of what I am doing currently, I think. After an intense year on Looperman I will need probably new inspiration and simply new energy to keep going at the same rate. In few weeks I want to start something quite different - acoustic recordings on upright piano - I really want to get into playing more seriously sometime... Maybe later this year because real life is still too demanding. The other option remaining is to upload or bump up older tracks.
I am glad you enjoyed this song.
Thank you for the nice words and best to you,
Alex
There are a lot of nice subtle keyboard parts scattered about. The piano is nicely played, I liked the part about 1:10 especially. The guitar fills work and the vocal sample seems to enhance the overall feel of the track. I don't care for the sound of the hand claps, just personal I guess. Missed this one when you posted it, sorry Alex.
I appreciate your nice comments. This is an older production and probably one of the first here on looperman of mine. The vocal sample is from unexisting acapella but I could use only the short little fragment... Anyway at a time I had no mastering skills whatsoever so that's the reason for strange clap sound placement haha, there's no compression and it is very sketchy...
I played strings, e piano and the acoustic piano (both plugins) - all the rest (drums, bassline, guitar fills) were samples.
This is awesome! I love what you did here. Feels very dreamy-like. Feels almost like I was transported back to the eighties haha. The effects applied to Oceanically's voice was of good taste, my lad!
Thank you for nice words! I am happy you liked some of my older works - I wasn't really intertionally going for eighties feel and any kind of stylistical 'correctness' here. I simply 'combined' different sounds so to speak haha
Thanks again for listening to my music
and all the best to you,
Alex
laid back way late in the night sexy listening...the shuffly beat & minimal accompaniment really works with Ocean`s perfectly placed up front vocal...very effective....well done to both of you....feels like I`m right at the lounge.....think I`ll have a cool drink...Ed
Sexy .... she looks very very sexy barely dressed in such a minimalist style of sound.
I could sit in this damp brick walled club for hours yet .... into the wee small hours .... so relaxing in such a dangerous environment .....

Loving almost everything !
the only thing I think you could do better is by cutting the outro at 2:59 until end to heard something you need to max your volume !
So I can call it a useless silence for sure if there are an artistic reason of that you should keep it.

Gled you liked this older production of mine. It was made the moment I joined the site but I think there's still something nice about this song...
