Very interesting style of ambient here! I really like what you did with the guitar part! I too hear a dog barking in this, kind of funny if that wasn't the intention! :) I'm glad I listened, because it was relaxing and enjoyable! Fave!

Thanks Joe :D
i was going for the deep relaxed feel, glad you picked up on it :D
and yeah its short but i think if it was any longer it could have ruined the feel of the song. 'Short but Sweet' i guess you could say haha.

Thanks Joe!, glad u enjoyed :D

This is very cool. My ear hears a dog barking at some parts lol i dont know why. But this is cool I love when the piano kicks in its so erie !! Awesome work as usually man !
XyIlent
XyIlent replied 21st Feb 2015 - 10 years ago
hahahaha well... your kinda right, i had a vocal sample on my computer, so i had an idea of distorting it, adding reverb e.c.t and placed it a couple of times in the track just to add a bit of flavour.
its either that or the noise in Neuro's loop.

And yeah the piano does sound erie :D haha it wasn't intentional to be honest lol, think it comes across that way coz of the atmosphere of the track or something :)

Anyways, always a pleasure hearing from you.
Thanks :D

Love that fat-soft kick hitting way down fequencies X (did you layer a quiet sub-bass in there)...the mix does sound simple but your care in its composition and production are obvious...the genre really benefits from the way you have preserved all those subtle dynamics in the final mix....a big well done to you.....Ed
XyIlent
XyIlent replied 21st Feb 2015 - 10 years ago
yeah that kick was actually supposed to represent a heart beat, thats why it goes all the way through the track, and also.. it sounded cool haha, there's no sub bass but although there are some tweaks to give it more of a punch and make it sound more lively :)

cheers ed, thanks for stopping by :)

Very serene. very well balanced. and very well produced. I know you mentioned that there were a lot of sounds in there, but, it sounds beautifully simple which is the the hardest part for me. Everything in your song matches. I like the crescendo in the beginning opening into the drums. Very nice arrangement.

I've listened to this track again and I still gotta say its AWESOME bro. Good stuff. Personally, I find that maybe the piano could use a little more sustain? Just to keep it from sounding to midi-ish. Just my two cents :P Still an excellent song.

Another brilliant track! I love the complexity you include in this track. Gentle intro, then from there it transitions into greatness. Great use of keys, which is one thing I absolutely love. I'm really digging your creative synth patterns, which goes with the electro-like drum patterns. At 1:40, that is a very creative way to transition back to the keys, then from there it takes off again. Then it ends with a gentle bang. Incredible work, my friend!

Thanks for the feedback :D

"Great use of keys"

Yeah, put alot of work into the melody for this one. Started off with some simple chords and evolved into a cool little melody.

"At 1:40, that is a very creative way to transition back to the keys"

Yeah, originally it just went straight to the keys after the chorus, but it didnt feel right so i added an extra bar or 2 for the pad transition.

Thanks for the listen :D

Awesome! so im kinda new..., I can i use your loops in my songs i just can't redistribute the loops? Are there people who upload illegal loops that i can get penalized for using in my songs? and do you have sound cloud i can check out?
XyIlent
XyIlent replied 15th Feb 2015 - 10 years ago
Hey Matthew :)
There are help sections that can answer the questions better than i can but if your looking for a quick answer,

Loops are copyright-free basically meaning you can do what you want with them. (by the way songs like this^ are not copyright-free. I have full rights to my songs.)

There will unfortunately be people who upload loops that are from other sites, dont think ive ever came across one, but im sure there are. But it would quickly get removed so i wouldn't worry about it.

yeah i have soundcloud :)

https://soundcloud.com/sean-mccuaig

p.s the help section will answer these questions better

well made dear XyIlent. I always found making a track without sample harder.

So I would grats you about this.

maybe you will have to play the master to fix your volume issue.

but with my cheap earphone this sound nice I will maybe write a new comment when i will be at home due i have a very better sound system.

anyway nice one hope you have fun to making this

yeah shouldnt be too hard to fix the volume issues, its just in some areas it gets a bit loud for me, sounds like its distorting

You know. this is really good m8. I have one tip though, you could add a pad and bass to the piano part, so it doesn't sound as empty as it does now. good job though!

Very cool track loving just about every aspect. There is just something about the piano in the intro and the beginning of the next repetition. It just sounds plain, to me it sounds like mabey the piano should be a little more wet sounding with atleast a little more reverb or something. Overall though this is very cool its very chill-like.

Man, this track is really great! Sometimes different isn't a bad thing and in this case it truly isn't! I love that keys. I also like the ghost synth you used in the track, it fits very well. All in all, great track here man! ]

Keep up the great work!

:) thanks Modnex

"Sometimes different isn't a bad"

yeah a little change is always good! :), especially when producing. I mean i didnt completely change genres or anything haha, just held it back a bit, if you know what i mean.

"I love that keys"

YEAH, im actually weirdly proud of the melody i made for this haha, it was super fun to make! :D
glad you like it too :)

"I also like the ghost synth"

Yeah, i pulled alot synths from older projects for this one, with a bit of tweaks they worked pretty well together.

Thanks for the comment :)
Glad you enjoyed.

yyeeaahh that synth is a favourite of mine, think ive used it in a few tracks haha. It was a preset i kinda liked but after messing around with it for a bit it evolved into that^.

Glad you like my stuff man :),

Brilliant, bloody brilliant!

I learn the EDM music now and tracks like this are just inspiring me...can't advice anything cause I'm new in this platform but what I hear is the good mix (and master?) and the nice combination of the pads and piano...like the progressive middle part too...

Thankx for the upload, DL and fav!

You had a beautiful intro. Caught my attention with the great usage of keys with the synths coming in to accompany the keys. This is really awesome, despite not going for what you wanted the track to be like. Your creativity, however is amazing. It may lack that video game sound, but your results are amazing. I encourage you to keep working on this till you get your desired sound that you wanted. I'm actually really interested in remixing this if you'd be alright with that. What program did you use to make this?

Do you want me to send you the stems when i finish? or how it currently is?

Cool Intro....intrigued so far. As it builds great frequency spread and panning in the mix. I almost want that bass up in the mix a bit more to take the edge off the square wave ping synth sounds. But I love the concept and the song. The ping sounds are the highlight and now we have brassy synth sounds counterpointing it with a nice build wave sound but a bit letdown after that build. To make this massive you need to develop sounds to counter the counterpoint. (if that makes sense) like introducing a cool pad or other sounds as you go along just as creative. now we have glissando added to the pings with massive reverb, which sounds awesome but make it a part of something so much more. There is great potential in this one. develop it. (if you please)

yeah it definitely needs more bass, something ill be working on.
ok, so some cool pads and stuff, i can do that :), there is a pad but its very much under the rest of the song.
Thanks crucethus, theres some really good feedback in there, ill be sure to put it to good use :)

Thanks.
