Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.

You wrote such a nice reply to my comment the other day, so I took a look at your profile and thought Id drop you a line. You were right in assuming that we share more or less the same musical background. However, Im old enough to have actually seen Graham Central Station and Little Feat live ... so there you go, LOL. I love your tracks; youre really much further along than I am when it comes to studio work and composition. And youre clearly at home in the currently trending musical styles. Thats the difference. I could try making a trap track, or Afrobeat or something, of course, but it wouldn't turn out well because I just don't feel that vibe. My musical sensibilities were shaped by the 70s through the 90s ... from "Bourgie Bourgie" to "Stay A Little While, Child." For me, the absolute pinnacle of (classic) R&B production is "Body Talk" by Eddie Kendricks (1976). Ive listened to it at least a thousand times and still marvel at how they managed to make something so dense sound so airy ... not to mention the incredible instrumental skills of the musicians involved. Anyway, I always hope that my work passes for "retro" at best, rather than just "old-fashioned." I just think a good groove is timeless, you know?
