Hi Mark, jazz funk rules! great choice of jazz sounds and phrasings, really realistic and tasty. Mastering might be a mysterious field for most of us musicians, obviously it's nothing of that kind for you. great work.
StratOli. I see we speak the same jazz funk language. I appreciate the comments and compliments. Im happy you found what you heard in order. Im using new plugins and Im having a blast twisting knobs and being totally amazed how I can enhance different elements in the track, and get to my desired sound in less time. You have a great weekend and stay safe.
LOL Mark you always put a smile on my face :)...It's really good to hear this Masterpiece! again, so, you are working with a new system, you got a brilliant sound as far as I'm concerned your work is always AMAZING! Keep having fun! my dear friend & have a wonderful! weekend.
LOL You know I'm always happy to oblige. The stop, continued support, and recheck is appreciated. NOW GET TO WORK ON SOMETHING DELICIOUS LOL! Be safe my friend.
Well, well! Mark, you been sharpening your skills I see :) seriously this is NICEEE! unadulterated jazz for real love the nuances throughout this track what a sweet! musical journey here indeed. This place is a didstant memorie for me but I'm so glad I popped in on a free day with no work, it's always nice to pop in now and again, who knows maybe I'll post something delicious when I get time :) Anyways keep up the AWESOME! work A fave without question here Bravo!
Well Well Well! The songstress! I'm glad you've taken out some time to check in on your buddy! :). As you can hear, I'm still chopping away and laying down as much musicality as I can muster. I'm working with a new system and I'm overjoyed! But as always Thanks for bringing the sunshine, and your expert ears. The fave, I receive humbly. NOW DON'T BE PLAYIN IN MY FACE ABOUT DROPPING SOMETHING DELICIOUS! LOL JUST DO IT! IJS LOL! Till next time my friend.
Been a while since I had my fix with one of your creations. That bass and the funky drums pulled me straight in. Change ups are seamless. I've probably asked you this before but what sax vst do you use? Cheers Zoot.
Hello Chris. The stop, comments, reaction and fave is appreciated big time. You know the funk is deep down in the bones LOL! The sax used here is from Kontakt 8 Suite Grooves library. Peace.
Well, since I dont really have a direct basis for comparison, Im not entirely sure what the update specifically improved. It feels like theres greater depth in the mastering? Ive listened to the track againthis time in our studio over our full sound system. The first time was through headphones.
All I can say is: crystal clear, brilliant depth of sound, and excellently placed spatial instrumentation. Outstanding work, although I must admit, I already felt that way even before the update. smile
Our sound engineer and the colleagues who were present are all equally impressed by your work.
Manuela. Thanks again for the second opinion. Actually I tried a new limiter which I feel sharpened the overall mix with some added definition. The colleagues and engineer's critique was helpful as well. Tell them thanks for me. Be safe.
I miss old school jazz! This is great stuff!
I really like drum pattern and instruments are very good too.
Vibe and flow is out of this world.
Good job!
Cheers!
Fantastic Mark! Your tracks always sound sensational and as real as a band can sound. Love the use of loops in a real organic way. Loved the listen. Be well my friend. PEACE. UE
Hey kingmt77, I love the foundation with the drums and bass. This is so good that everything else fits easy and perfectly :-) So great to have musicians like you in here. Cheers, Oli
I'm truly glad you're back here! Your outstanding compositions, which impressed me so deeply in the past, have been greatly missed. With this song, you've once again proven your talent. The impressive soloists are beautifully carried by a stream of driving foundational elements. A fantastic flow, from beginning to end. I hope we'll be hearing more from you here in the future.
Hi Manuela. Thank you for checking in with me. I've been upgrading and simplifying my work flow. The comments and complements you gave here is really HUGE! I'll be stopping over soon. Have a wonderful weekend as well.
As people who know how complex Jazz is, (we have been experimenting ourselves, lately), we can only salute you with respect - this is so professional yet fresh. V well composed and some interesting sounds that pique the intrigue of the listener. Well done ;)
Description : I first discovered the iconic singer Ella Fitzgerald through my parents, my mother who was a renowned vocalist herself had a deep appreciation for the music of legendary artists. I was too young but captivated by the soulful jazz melodies that filled our home on lazy Sunday afternoons. "Summertime" Exudes a timeless touch of elegance it has a special place in my heart. Instruments Used:
-"WELTMEISTER" upright piano (MADE IN GERMANY in 1938)
-"KAY" upright bass (MADE IN GERMANY somwhere in 1950th)
-TAMA Imperial Star + Pearl OMAR HAKIM snare + Various Ziljian cymbals.
I just put together some old ideas to see if it will work. Some vocals and brass, or guitars is clearly needed. Let me know what you think about it. Tnx
Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...
Description : This is track me and my friend (great jazz, blues musician) done
around this great vocal we acquired.
Lot of hours in it.
I had great fun making it!
Hope you people like it.
Love and peace.
Description : I think it's a late evening song to accompany you for a single drink.
Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.
Hope you will like it.
Description : This track made me just stop working on it and listen to it for enjoyment.
Smooth Mellow funky Jazz. Uses: 0111003-djrumplestiltskin-swung-funk-drum-beat, 0087009-mrroads442-guitar-line, 0072485-michiel555-mellow-funk, 0058934-ferryterry-90-bpm-soprano-sax. Is this Funk or Jazz?
Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
Description : I created a hip hop groove in Logic and decided to duel some Saxophones. I am playing the Baritone sax on the left pan and the Tenor Sax on the right pan.
I added some bells like a boxing match bell to give it a fight drama feel. The hip hop track itself is dope to me. The duel is cool too. Who won?
