Greetings Darren. I greatly appreciate your time for this listen. The time on this project was amazing for sure. The arrangement flowed with ease but taming and balancing everything was a beast. And Im still questioning it. Thanks for the feedback on how everything translated. Your favorable comments are valuable!
Peace,
Mark

Mark, how are ya, man?
In a sentence: The body of this track is some sweet-ass funk, but the heart and soul if it is pure Chicago Blues.
Hell yeah, brother. I'm going to go out on a limb and say B.B. King was a big influence! Rightly so, if I'm correct.
Thanks for pointing me to this one, man. I really enjoyed it!
Take care.

Aaron! I'm good. Getting the New Year kicked off just right. B.B. King was def a huge influence. My aunt put me up on all of the blues greats when I was about knee high to a French fry LOL!. It's great you got a chance to check this one. Thank you for the favorable feedback my friend.

What's up Mark,

The energy is crazy on this track.
I've been listening to your portfolio
here on LM. You got the "Organ bug" bad,
you work a poor B3 to death:-)
I got a big kick out of the change @4:40
It was totally unexpected. The Outro starting
@ about 5:22 is the kind of controlled chaos I
live for.

Great track. Faved.. PEACE from the East...TTYL

77, I mean kingmt, you tightened me up at 3:41 then at 4:39 you hit me hard with that guitar track. As I was listening I developed ugly face syndrome. You know how it sounds so good to you, your bottom lip has the appearance of being pushed up hard into your top lip, this track took me there. Again I submit to you and fellow Loopers that in fusion there is no orthodox song form method. Most fusion artist are accomplished dimensional thinking writers not to say that an RNB writer isn't, FUSION is more of an instrumental level of creating. If you can twist my face with a track, Its got to be good. You did your thing on this. I'm glad I caught it. PEACE. T576 OUT.

My Bro T576. You hear we be working it out. Thanks for the vote of approval on my latest with the kind commentary and fave. Now for that face business...STANK FACE is what it is! And that happens to be the highest award a musician can receive! Yep, the Stank Face Award, haha. Nonetheless, the convo and your highly respected perspective is beyond a shadow of a doubt appreciated in a huge way. I'm really in my zone fusion wise, and fortunately I'm free from musicians brain lock. Proof of that ........ It always works out in the end. Peace.

As always it's off the charts good. Rock solid, or maybe I should say jazz solid (despite the great guitar).

However.

I have a producer friend/teacher who helps me with songs and structures and he almost always tells me to simplify stuff. In your tracks I hear that too; you have so much musicality and so many amazing ideas - any 15 seconds of your track are more interesting than entire tracks (or the entire life work) of some of us.

Eg the first 5 seconds are this awesome drum rhythm plus bass, then at 0:04 you have the sax, then horns, then a Rhodes, then after 2 min you introduce this amazing guitar which you got straight out of the steely Dan studios (who is that amazing guitarist???)

So what I would set you as a challenge is:
- decide what the top 3 ideas are in your track (to me: the drums, the guitar and the horns)
- build a 2-3 minute track out of that to make sure the core is exactly how you want it
- then add some of the other elements.
- then see if it needs to be longer
Oh btw the drop/break at 4:45 needs to be part of the essentials

I should add that I already immensely admire anything you do - it's easily a 11 on a scale of 1-10. I just think that if you make that next step from jams to songs, you can be a major recording artist (if you aren't already). It's just that good.

BB. Thanks a bunch for stopping by and sharing your perspective. Everything about this process is cool personified. Correct you are, the ideas never stop. Partially because on purpose I throw the ideas out then develop some sort of structure as I go. That's how my music brain works, LOL! But also I'm working to fine tune my sound. To keep things fresh and interesting is my main focus. And with that there's much road ahead. For the guitars, I chopped, arranged, flavored loops to fit this one. I pulled loops from about 5 different sources, with the main one being "Deep Blues Guitars". Great pointers you mentioned that I'll take into consideration. Your HIGH compliments are humbling, buddy. We'll catch up on the next round. Be safe.

Michael. You know, It's great for us to have a mode of expression through music. Your time is appreciated. The guitars featured are a result of going through hours of guitar loops and setting them in their proper space, then giving them that flavor. Now, the majority came from the sample pack "Deep Blues Guitars". The rest came from the deep recesses of many TB's of loops and samples in my arsenal. Be safe.

Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!
