I agree with dando, I like the athmosphere of the slide guitar, if you can get the other instruments to have a similar athmosphere, you would have something very special here.
Nonetheless, what you have here is a sweet track. Keep up the good work.
I like the track. Everything works very well together. The vocals were excellent and I quite liked how they were effected. Drums, guitar, everything was great. Also well produced.
I agree with rei, the drums seem to disappear when the lead guitar kicks in. Other than that it is a great track. The guitar is very well done. Some vocals would really sweeten this baby.
You have put together an absolutely excellent track here. Everything works well together, the lyrics are very good and the backing music appropriate to their content, and the prodution is great.
Very dramatic beginning. Nice use of orchestration. This could easily be a cinematic piece. Like the way you intoduced the choir and their combination with the strings was brilliant. Transitions are smooth, production is very good. I would probably play with some of the levels if I were you, just to add a bit more polish.
A great choice of instruments and fx. The vox were well used. The production is very, very good and your transitions are nothing short of brilliant. All in all a great track.
I've not heard the original version, but as good as this is I can't image why I would want to listen to it. Your voice is magnificent. The production is very good and your backing track is wondeful.
Excellent work. I'll have to check out more of your work :-)
I'm glad to see you've put something new up. The track is very, very sweet. The guitar work is wonderful and the supporting instruments do their job perfectly.
Hey John! Thanks,I appreciate that you knew where I was going with this when you said sweet.Yes it's comfortable and no,there are no suprises but I found this song and thought it had a certain charm that really needed or at least I wanted it to..guitar.it just sounded fun with no risks and sometimes that's just what I need.
Thanks again John.
Thanks for the review...yeah i do want to add to it and then make it into a track...i just don't have the means or the time to yet. just started learning music software recently so im an amateur! ( : thanks for the review John!
Very interesting sounds in this piece and the pace at which you move the track along is perfect. Love your transitions, very smooth. All the instruments fit together well.
Very classic feel to it in terms of this genre, but it still has fressness. I like it a lot, it's a very enjoyable track to listen to, but as for criticisms, you'll have to look elsewhere. I loved everything about it.
This is a great track, but might be a bit too well done for a true punk song from back then, lol. The only criticism I have is that it ended too soon :-) Other than that the track is super sweet.
you obviously have some intuitive ubderstanding of music and its production, this and the last piece I listened to demonstrate that, so I am going to have to listen to more. As with the last track, the ending is abrupt. Also, and as with the last track, it ended all to soon. I was enjoying it immensely and then it was gone. That's just mean ;-) lol
another strong track. everything I said aboput tyhe last one apllies to this one as well. Both were very enjoyable to listen to, which was exactly what I expected.
Very nice track to come back with. You definitely came back strong. Transitions are seamless, production is great and instrumentaion and pacing are perfect.
This is an absolutely wonderful track. I have no idea what you're saying and it does nothing to effect my enjoyment of the track at all. A great piece of rock.
Yet another excellent track. You certainly accomplished yopur goal of taking something great and making it better. You have the genre down to a science. Everything I've listened to so far has demonstrated great knowledge, however intuitive it might be, of theory and the ability to turn that theory into high quality compositions.
Again, thank you, John, for listening and reviewing.
I just got a new DuoCore computer a couple of weeks ago, so now I've got the processing power to do what I really want to do. I also just downloaded some new awesome guitar and bass SoundFonts and a bundle of VST vocal processors, so I'm getting much closer to the sound of a "real" band now. I'm pretty close to completion on four or five new tracks which are f*ckin' kickass. And I've been teaching myself music theory, so I think my new tracks are going to take a few people by surprise...
An excellent track. Like yourself, I far prefer the old school metal. I like the production. The transitions are seamless. Finally, the vocals and lyrics are very appropriate to the backing track.
Yeah, I'm in my 50's, so I was listening to heavy metal (Vanilla Fudge, Blue Cheer, etc.) before it was even called heavy metal. Though I do enjoy quality tunes from every genre of music, metal, especially old skool, will always be my first love.

I try to keep my limited composition skills sharp by experimenting with different genres. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. LOL
This was the first real Hiphop song I tried, but I think it came out alright.
