This is a super backing track. Love your arrangement and the production is very good as well. All you need is somebody to drop some vocals on this baby.
Thanks for the kind words. It's hard to believe the guitar riff is me playing rudimentary cords on my 5-string bass and adding a vst to it f or the effect. thanks for the review and the listen.
I agree with Crash, I don't hear anything wrong with the track either. I would, however, like to hear it with the right vocallsist blasting out some cool heavy metal lyrics.
Hey man thanks for listening and taking the time to post a review ^_^ Much appreciated :).
Cheers, the guitar is a Fender Strat (the £100) copy kind xD
Amp wise it's a Roland Cube 60. To record I literally used a pair of cheapish sony headphones, rested them on the microphone on top of my mac and hit record. Gave it a bit of mixing and bam! :D.
Vocals were recorded in studio though :p xD.
The lyrics were written based on day to day life, going home after a typical boring day at work. 9-5 job. Same thing over and over then depression setting in. Sick and tired, razorblades bring relief.
Pain and grief put at ease for just a day longer. :)
xXx
Thanks again! ^_^
I get where PJB is coming from. This definitely has a commercial quality to it, though I would say the reason is because it would be enjoyed by non metal listeners as well. The only thing missing from this baby are a sweet set of lyics and vocals.
Slayer 2 is a pretty cool program once you get the hang of it. Fortunately for you, you seem to be doing quite well with it. I like the track and admire your production skills.
Wow! thank you john. humm makeing a vst sound like the real thing is not an easy task ive been reading alot of stuff lately and it seem to me the only way to make a true guitar wail is with a real guitar. sooo ill keep trying. Again thank you for your support in this hobbie. peace
Like a frieght train thjrough the prairies, this one moves straight ahead and will stop for nothing. I would love to hear some hard hitting vocals over this track.
A really sweet chil out track. I like the arrangement and the production. Has me swaying back and forth in my chair, lol, for me that is major dancing :-)
Is it just me or is there a sadness about the track. I also feel optimism, but I feel sadness, maybe loss.
Interesting track. Thought provoking. Didn't like the abrupt ending lol
btw, feel free to send me a copy of the song you did using my lyrics, I look very much forward to hearing what you've done :-)
Thanks for the review I'm glad it got you moving... Interesting you should mention sadness and loss, it certainly wasn't intentional, but without burdening you with my life story I'd say it's very possible that's creeping into my music as of late. The optimism is probably just because I'm a very optimistic person lol.
The abrupt ending is being fixed. I don't like it either ;)
I'll record "banging my head against a rock wall" really soon. I need to keep practicing and singing it... Sometimes I still stop halfway through and forget the chord changes or the next line.
I'll make sure you get a copy though!
Guys this is a great track, but there are some places where a little mastering would make it totally pro. Great backing track, great lyrics and the vocals are awesome, though occasionally too up front. I hear major talent here.
Don't forget us little people when you make it big
much appreciated man, this is a ruff draft still havent gotten a finished version so it does sound muddy at times, thanks for the review and for takin the time to listen
Interesting choice of sounds. Production is great, duh like that's not to be expected on a Spivkurl track, and the arranemnt is great (double duh, lol).
Although it is not a track I would listen to often, I do love it. It is increibly creative and gives me flashback of the old Get Smart TV show for some reason 8- 99 was hot :-)
You're too kind! I'm glad you could get into this track even though it's not your listening preference! I wonder what it is about this track that brings to mind Get Smart? Thanks so much for taking the time to review!
I agree with Allen and Kik, loving the mid east\oriental vibe. I also agree with 9Rihter, doesn't seem rock, but then I see in your description that the guitars are to follow. Truth is, I like the track as it stands, but also look forward to where you plan on taking it.
Hey John, thanks for stopping by and given an ear here! and thanks for a positive review! will have a revised sometimes this month!! thanks as allways!
Thanks so much John.Spell had the production done, which made this very fun to do.It is so rewarding when the song starts out as a favorite and then you get to play on it.
Thanks again for your comments my friend!
Joy is when a friend has a track you have not yet listened to and can have the pleasure to review. Such is as is with this track. The latin influence is obvious. I've been becoming more of a fan of that genre in the last while, mostly because of hearing it in movies and tv shows.
Wow, what flavour this piece has. Changes up and changes up again but never loses its soul nor its energy
wow .... thanks ... !!!!!!!... My friend, I am very glad you enjoyed ... unfortunately, my English is limited, you already should know ... lol ... but know that I am grateful for your kind words, and I hope we do work together. As we say here in Rio: Valeu!!
Great atmosphere. This would be a great track to listen to while meditating or wishing to spend time in serious thought. Beautiful easy listening piece.
Thia is a great piece. I listebned to it while watching a battle scene from Gettysburg (tv sound off as usual, lol, must have been a silent movie fan in a previous life). Anyways, the track sounded like it belonged.
