nice... sounds a bit like Chrispy Dubstep ... track called FYD... which is cool seeing as you dont normally make dubstep... good job... bit of work and you got a sick track there my friend. Maybe you could finish it ? that would be cool. ill help if you want.
Thanks! And I kinda' winged it, I dont really know what's in the "Dubstep forumula" but I mean I'm happy with the results since I've only spent like an hour on it. But I mean it sounds like you have a vision with this track I'd appreciate help to see where you're coming from!
this an intro to your youtube channel right ? its cool. that sample at the end would be awesome just before a drop on one of my tracks... any chance of getting it off you ?
i think, in principle its a great concept. with the timing issues sorted it will be a great track ... im affraid im not a fan of the vocal full stop.. infact, i dont particularly like Nate Monoxide's voice or lyrics and i think the song deserves a little more and is dragged down by the vocal. also, if you wanna stick with the vocal... which i dont suggest, you can use your mashine it can chop up the vocal for you and quantize it. so all you need to do is use it with your daw and trigger the bits you want to use.
i think a lesson alot of people can learn is that as a producer, i find it really hard to write a song and use a whole 'pella tht some one has written... if i write a song i want the vocalist to use the nuances of the song to write lyrics... not the other way round...
Hey Dubby. How you doing? Yeh one of the problems I'm having with this song is 14 mix downs and just what seems like thousands of listens. I think I've lost the ability to hear this one. Think that's possible? any way, how you liken "groopaloopa"
classic Dnb break sounds as good as it did back in the 90s. the bassline on the drop sounds a bit sparse. Think you should incorporate that synth that kicks in at about the 2:30 mark more... second drop is really brings that groove back in and is really well built up and timed well...
all round a good tune... needs a bit of fillin gout though...
really well balanced pad work with the guitars... its an awesome song... so full.. youve done some awesome frequency work there, fitting it all in. would love to remix this...
think the build up to it is awesome. only downside.... it could go harder, but then i think everything could go harder. is this a sample based tune or did you do it all yourself / did you write the guitars ? if so did you filter it afterwards? or did you do it pre-recording ?
First off a big thanks for the review.. Second, everything you hear in my tunes are made by my own hands either electronicly or asked for permission of either game-developers or the origin of the sample (This complies to voices, accapellas, and stuff ripped from games or films)
The guitarrsound is actually completly reason, BUT i put a lot of hours into it, making it sound like the real deal, witch means yes, i "wrote" the guitarrs. lol.. When it comes to filtering, well.. lets just say that the actual guitarr is 6 different guitarrs, reacting differently depending on how "hard" i play it, witch makes it feel more alive. Cant remember the layout just now but, the first microsecond determines how "hard" i pull the string, and acts accordingly with reverbs or delays thereafter, the second microsecond determines the "tone" and depending on previous variables it can "bug out, and cut the tone completly" if the tone and first keystroke was played to hard, making it sound more like a real guitarr, and the third effect on each tone is determined the release of the stroke, meaning if i hardrelease the key it will sound like a wobble or a strum, and if i release it slowly it will go into an echo and/or arena reverb..
Lojg answer but i do hope it made sense, (but) due to the time creating the guitarr, i will not release it as an .rsn but feel free to remix it as it is...
really funky electronic feel. when it goes into the break it sounds almost Caribbean... like the drum arrangement. then goes into those airy pad type sounds. it all sounds awesome. if i can think any criticism its the vocal... sounds a bit uhhmm... scratchy. dunno if that came with the 'pella but could sound a bit fuller.
thanks, any issues with the vocals are probably my fault, added some fx to distinguish the loops thanks for your honesty, thats the reason its up here :)
theres so much space to this... love it... is this your only dubstep tune ? only thing i can suggest is more of personal preference thing on my part, which is make the drop harder... if youlower the it by like 2db or so just before the drop you get a really punchy effect makes the drop a bit more dynamic.
Hey DT finally the chance to get back to you on this. don't mistake my late response for lack of interest just busy trying to start the group and very busy at work.THANKS BUT...... I'm not clear on what you are suggesting but I will try. are you saying re eq the bass and lower it by 2db? . I'm very isolated and do everything by ear so I'm kind of lost with your suggestion. Can you find a differant way to explain Kind of like "Dubstep for dummies" Hey go to the thread we are ready to start and I look forward to connecting with you
i like the way the hihats sound almost like white noise. i do that sometimes. gives what would turn out pretty mellow a really evil "im gonna kill you while you sleep" vibe. lol
"the taoism drunkard feels that wobbles should be used like saffron." the curry place just by my house uses loads of saffron dude, so i take after them.... lol liked it though.
you guys in the uk are lucky. only thing that really comes close to a curry place round these parts are some chinese restaurants, and the food is sub par at best. thanks for the listen and the comments dubtek.
i took a creative writing class when i was in college, and my imagination increases 60% when im inebriated. thanks for the listen and the comment dude.
