Not too short, way too short, way too short! hahaha.
I was really enjoying it, please continue and make it longer.
Congratulations, it creates an incredible atmosphere.
I think you've done a perfect collaboration. Dime's unmistakable voice gives your music a special touch, creating a unique atmosphere. I downloaded the song and translated the lyrics with Audacity; it was like watching a movie with the soundtrack playing in the background. I hope you do more collaborations like this.
Great job.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
You're asking if you should use a falsetto or a soft voice. I'm not the best person in this community to advise you; I'm not a musician, just an enthusiast for the last few months. But I think that with the atmosphere your music creates, a soft but full voice would be better. I can't imagine falsetto working. But you know... it's a matter of taste. What I do agree with is what others have said: expand the song a bit, work on it.
Ay Juan! Every musician starts out as an enthusiast haha...my brother and I are working on the vocals now, haven't hit falsetto yet, but we'll see what we can do. I really want to explore a /afrodystopia /afrotech kind vibe, the main challenge now is trying to make sure it's very obviously african but letting it still be very palatable. :fingers_crossed: we figure out the formula!
Thank you so much, Chris, for uploading the lyrics.
I was already in bed when I saw your message on my phone. I jumped up, turned on my PC, put on my MDR-7506 headphones (it's late here), and you have no idea how much I enjoyed being able to read the lyrics while listening to you again. The experience was incredible.
I loved the story and the way you told it: "This city hides its hunger behind the glow."
It's a pleasure to read someone who knows their stuff and can explain how they did things. Thank you.
I'm going to bed now. Good night.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
As always... the sound quality, the performance, the composition, everything... The vocals are always spectacular, the guitar solo accompanied by the drums at 1:30 is simply breathtaking. I really liked an effect I heard in the vocals at 2:35, like the voice was being duplicated or layered. And from 4:00 onwards, the way the song gradually fades away, I loved it.
I can't translate spoken English and I love your work. I don't even want to think about the day I can translate your lyrics; I'm going to be blown away.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
Juan, I also sent you the lyrics. I had forgotten to include them. Well, let me explain everything. First of all, once again, thank you on behalf of all of us.
At 1:20, yesthats the point where the track truly gains identity, emotion, and intensity, not only sonically but emotionally as well. Up until then, I wanted it to feel like a transition from something subtle into a much more emotional listening experience. Like the scene weve been waiting for in a film.
At 2:35, its simply Nadines second vocal line processed through chorus, delay, reverb, dynamic EQ, EQ, and Altiverb 6, giving it space and presence, along with Melodyne to tune the vocals into the proper key.
The fade-out is mainly acousticwe gradually reduce the performance itself and then continue the fade on the console. At the same time, we increased the guitar amp volume, placing the microphone close to the monitor so we could capture the distortion feedback you hear underneath.
So thats how this track came together: with a lot of work and several dozen hours of recording. Saluti Chris.
As I mentioned when I heard it on SoundCloud, this track is excellent in its genre. I admire the complexity involved in creating a track like this, and the breadth and clarity of the sounds. Great job!
As always... unmistakable. And this time, I think the sound of the instruments perfectly complements the emotion in your lyrics; that violin and guitar seem to weep in harmony with the message of your song. A truly special performance.
I agree with Dan, it sounds cinematic. I especially liked it from minute 4 onwards, building to a conclusion that feels like it's coming. The sounds are very crisp and defined; I like it.
Good job.
Even though I'm 61, I've also spent a few hours playing Cyberpunk. The story, the graphics, and those futuristic cities with a society in decline really caught my attention.
This sounds very cinematic; it creates an atmosphere that would fit perfectly in the game. Good work.
It's really high praise that it fits! I'm having an issue now where I'm not sure what to do for the vocals, like I figure it will be falsetto, I figure some floating over this beat would be sick. I think maybe going light on vocals might be the choice. Idk, when it comes to vocals, what do you hear?
The moment I pressed play, I thought... Depeche Mode, hahaha. What great memories you've brought back!
This could be the foundation for a great song. Please work on it. I can't wait to hear the final result.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
To be honest, I don't usually listen to this genre of music much because I don't know English, and I think the lyrics are the most important thing in this genre. But I've been browsing through your repertoire, haha.
First of all, there's definitely a noticeable improvement in sound with the new equipment.
Secondly, you have an unmistakable, unique voice. Just like I told RichardShekari at the time, I'd recognize one of your songs anywhere, except for the one you did with IA, haha.
And thirdly, you create incredible lyrics. Until a few days ago, I hadn't noticed that some people uploaded lyrics that you could read. To find out what the lyrics said, I'd download the song, separate the vocals from the music, and use Audacity to transcribe and translate them, like I did with Rita's songsquite an ordeal, haha. Now that I've listened to yours again, reading the lyrics, I can tell you that you have a special gift for writing. By the way, the Spanish guitar always sounds good in songs, hahaha.
Best regards, Juan Carlos
hi Juan thanks for stopping off, i have been a follower of hip hop for 40 years it all started for me as a dancer, i done the holiday camps and spent 3 years as a younger man having fun, i was a street dancer i carried on until i was 55 until i dislocated a rib doing a windmill lol, my son came in to hospital and laughed maybe now its time to quit the energentic stuff Pops, i was introduced to music production and fell in love with it, especially the LM community it was naturally the path i would choose hip hop, i have done Indie and Ballads but i do love my hip hop its a culture my friend it was quite political and explosive in its early days too and the dancing grafffiti wearing bright colors was all part of it and standing out.
i have had a very intriguing life complicated and painful at times with tragedy sprinkled in also so lots of my lyrics are based on my life or friends close too me and my job is to make the story come to life and feel as real as possible, i love to play a part in helping to build what we have here and moreso comment and give feedback and encouragement to my talented friends and of course my friend the spanish guitar is a huge part in hip hop too a truly wonderful sounding instrument with definition and character, i also don't leave comments to recieve them back, i do it to inspire others after you work on a production and to hopefully encourage you to continue as the community will emrace it make you feel your time spent was worthwhile, it all makes toward a safe place to help you feel comfortable sharing your music, i also have an extremely close group here but i include everyone, as you have to be brave to bring your own music and stand up to be counted and judged. artist are one of a kind, we share a passion
I just realized I never commented on your hit track.
I don't usually listen to this style of music, but you have to acknowledge the complexity of this rhythm. The sounds are super clear and defined (something I still need to work on, haha), and I especially like it when the strings come in around 1:50. I also really liked another track you uploaded, "Bad Dream."
Given its success... great job.
P.S. I'm sorry about your pet Gizmo. I know what it's like to lose a being who's always loyal by your side. I've dedicated half my life to caring for rescued animals. I don't rescue any more, but I'll stay with the ones I still have (who are very old) until the end.
Thank you for your feedback and praise. I am also deeply impressed by your work and am already looking forward to listening to your new project.
In addition, I pay a lot of respect to you in terms of taking care for your animals. I am sure they will enjoy a pleasant twilight of life at your home. Best wishes, Ben.
Congratulations! You must be on cloud nine, seeing that one of your compositions (Fate 1) has become the basis for such a fantastic track. I listened to your song again (I have it downloaded) and it's the heart and soul of this masterpiece. The vocals, production, and performance of masters like True Sister Band did the rest. Beautiful lyrics for a beautiful song.
Thanks man and yes i am, i am super stoked how the song came out from Manuela and the true sisters.
thanks for your continued support its always appreciated :)
Thank you! I will say that some of my work is trap-adjacent, but not all, esp recent stuff with my group. Experimentation leads to some pretty amazing things
You're right, with headphones you can really feel the movement of the sounds. Listening to it was like a journey, like floating with my eyes closed. Great job.
I really liked it. I love stereo sound and how, with so many different sounds, you manage to make each one sound distinct and separate. I can't achieve that; as soon as I add more than five instruments, they all sound mixed together and drown each other out, haha.
Great job, Juan Carlos.
Thanks Juan. I tend to get pretty intricate and almost ocd when I do a big edm dance type mix. It's just patience and equalizing mainly to give room to all the layering.
Another song with your unmistakable voice, conveying hope, confidence, and faith. I think you do a great job spreading these messages through music. Congratulations!
Much respect for the comment and for spending your time with the song, Junakar. Sometimes its hard to put certain feelings into words, so music becomes the language instead. Im glad the vibe and message came through clearly to you. Your support honestly adds fuel to the creative fire :)
Hitting PLAY on your tracks is synonymous with tapping your foot to the beat, haha. I really liked how the song changed, how it evolved instead of being monotonous like most songs of this type. A great composition.
How is that possible! Two weeks and I'd completely missed hearing you! hahaha. I already told you that I found your voice special, but now that I'm reading your lyrics while listening, it seems even more special because of what you convey, because of how complex and delicate the stories you tell are. Congratulations!
Ofcourse you must miss me!! your my fan lol .
The lyrics....yes if a song comes from my heart it sounds better.
Thanx for your compliment and being my fan.
A great composition. I started listening attentively and I liked it, but the moment the sax came in, you had me hooked, haha. I love it when you make a sax speak. Great job!
That is real live sax by Steve Bone (UK). He gets all the credit. I guess I get some credit for editing and arranging it. He is so talented and also plays other woodwinds, flute, clarinet, and even Bluesharp. I think he has some videos on YouTube. Bottom line, he's excellent. I thank you on his behalf. Buen dia, Cosmo
