Top, if you're looking for some insight into cinematic loops and bringing instruments to life, feel free to contact me through email. I don't know what programs you use but I know Minor2Go and myself are both very much into the cinematic stuff, and there's a ton of things that could use some work here. I wouldn't let that get you down though, I feel like the genre itself is really frustratingly difficult.
As far as this goes, I feel like there are some major conflicts between loops, and ends up being a muddled synthy mess that likes to confuse the keys. Sometimes this can work, dissonance can be a friend at times--although I think if you put more thought into telling a story the picture would be painted much more clearly.
It's 8:52 in the morning. I'm having my first cup of coffee and my cigarette. Just lit it as I pressed play.
Couldn't be happier that I did. What you have here is a wonderful combination of simplicity at it's finest. I'd love to hear a bit more variation in the chorus of the track, perhaps a build up into a full...thing. I'm not good with explaining music terms, but I feel like there's something lacking here like it's trying to express something but just beats around the point and never really gets a chance to say what it wants to say.
Other than that, this was fun to listen to. Great job.
You are defintely right there. I forgot to mention that my daughter will sing on it. Therefore I kept it very simple. I will put on the updated track once the vocals are added.
I laughed at the slightly autistic part. Just like Humps over there, I tried listening to this at 9 in the morning. I still think it's fucking awesome though. The chirps in the background are what got to me when I had to shut her off to keep my head from exploding. But my dude, this has its own level of really amazing style. Right around that 3:00 mark where it gets like.. "Pendulum-ish" is where I went from morning ritual to straight up headbanging.
Very professional and well rounded sound, mastering and mixing is on point! I'm usually very picky when it comes to any sort of EDM and your transitions are nearly flawless. There's enough variation in this track to keep the progression entertaining and fun which is where a ton of people fall short.
Thank you Centrist for such a positive comment. Somehow I think the listening prefferences of this site might be quite different indeed. I am really glad you liked this special kind of musical production and the performance itself. You can also see the 'Fantasia' in the concert (same recording): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL3qR9CEP9g
This track is so much fun. Hell yes. Sounds are perfect, transitions work well, overall I dig the hell out of it. With the vocal chops, variance is good, bring them a little more to the front so we can hear them!
Thank you for this overwhelming positivity :D I'm so glad that you liked it so much. The vocal chops were already almost at maximum volume, but I didn't channel them correctly so that's maybe why they are still to soft? Anyways, thanks again for the feedback, it's very appreciated :)
WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE LISTENS. Holy crap man, how have I not heard your music before!? Make more. Like, not in the near future. Now. Every second is bliss man, I love this.
I wish I could just make more "now". However, I really do enjoy the process of the whole thing. I left a link for you on the "Life Went On" comment, where you CAN here more NOW.
Soleil, it seems like we both are into the same type of music. Being that I almost exclusively make the same exact type of music, I have a few suggestions that may improve what you're currently doing. The percussion you're creating is fantastic, though the strings and wind instruments seem a little too soft for me. I'd also suggest distorting your synth (wubwub) a little further, creating a duplicate track of it and changing the equalizer to cut out the high end to create a layered sound.
I would very much like to collaborate with you on something, send me a message if that might interest you.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I know almost nothing about music. I mean, I don't know how to master a song. I don't even know how to compose. Stuff like EQ and so on are things that I can't handle yet. So, when someone talks to me on technical terms, I get confused. And, as I said on description, this track (and most ones of mine) were made on Magix Music Maker. The loops are from the SoundPools (from Magix); I didn't create them, only mixed them. Sorry for disappointing you, but is the true. I have no the enough knowledge to collaborate with someone yet, unless you want to work with a totally noob.
If you want a few good examples, I have a ton of loops and a few tracks up that kind of demonstrate what I'm talking about. Might give you some ideas. :)
Being someone that mainly works with orchestral music, I thought this try was completely worth it man. The strings sound a LITTLE BIT too tinny and synthy, but other than that I could see this being a really cool track. What I might try doing is playing around with the length of the notes being played and have some last longer than others to create a more diverse sound so it spreads out a tad bit more. That way you can kind of confuse the mind to not hear each section end and start back up again. Great track!
thanks for the insight, ill go back and have a look. there were times when i wished id had a real orc.. playing because i realised the lenghts of the stings were diffrent. its one thing being a piano player.. anothe trying to orchrstrat.. much respect for that.. thanks for the listen.. Mickey
You've got a great composition here, I'd suggest working on the leveling just a bit more, I hear a lot of clipping going on. Otherwise, fucking sick track man. The clipping does very little in getting of the way of really enjoying this track.
This is for sure one of the sickest mixes I've heard for a while on Looperman. Seriously. I'm diggin the vocals, even more diggin' on the orchestral parts. Haha, I'm like giddy over it! Fantastic job broddah!
Holy crap, I totally regret not listening to this earlier. Brilliant job. Really. I might contact you soon with a project to work on. :) You have great choral range, which is invaluable to my music and myself.
Aw Mike .. I'm sooooo pleased you like it, especially as the first version I sent you was not this one . So phew ... fortunately you only heard this ! lol
This song would be nothing without your music which transcended me and helped me express sthg which is very heavy on my heart .
I'd be delighted to collab on your project . I can't wait !!
Cu soon,
Bises,
Janis ;))
Well, this is definitely one of the more sick and imaginative uses I've heard my work in. Refreshing, so thank you.
It's actually pretty fucking sick. I notice that I need to start adjusting the levels of the strings on my loops though, they're a little loud. About shit myself at the start, I had the volume cranked. Keep it up man, seriously. You've got something good going on here.
Hey man! First off, dig the track. Very cool elements what you incorporated here.
As far as the review goes, I would suggest a lot more variation within the track itself. I noticed that you're mainly using strings, so I would suggest heading back to my page and downloading a few more loops. Most of them are in the same key (keep an eye on that) and in the same tempo as well. Try using multiple combinations of different strings! You may come up with a more unique track that way.
Yo Centrist.
thanks for your comment
and I appreciate that very much.
I must tell you that this is a first try-out and I working further along there.
It is not finnished yet!
and I'm going to search what loops i can use more .
you say that I should pay attention to the key,
but to be honest , I do everything on feeling and what my ears hear.
I would like your way of making music (cinema) certainly want to get it below the knee(lol , we say that in the netherlands )
but I only make music now 4 a half year
so I have still a lot to learn ...
i thank you 4 making this kind of loops .
they are the best !!
Very cool man. Keep it up! I want to see what you can do all the way through!
Keep in mind that almost ALL of my loops are in the keys of either C or D, and in 20 bpm. The Inside pack happens to be in D, so try to look for other loops in the same key and tempo, and add some different layers! I think you could come up with something MUCH MUCH MUCH more variant and interesting. Keep at it bro!
YEAH, I FIND MY LOOPS IN YOUR SONGS WITHOUT CREDIT.
But seriously, this is a pretty cool arrangement, but there are several parts that just don't seem to go well with the song. Right when it breaks down into the soft bass, and then into the guitar, and then when it just starts back to the beginning synth all need work on the transitions.
Thank you my friend. The funny thing is, I felt like doing something completely different than what I usually do. And it didn't take more than 4 hours. I'm very creative ;)
And I am very proud of myself sometimes. Will post a video on my youtube account, to prove that It's 99.9% my own doing.
I didn't go any music producer school or so, so I am not really good at mastering my songs, therefore I'm not surpriced about the bass. ;)
This is brilliant. Really. We have a very similar taste in music, and if you get the opportunity, I'd suggest listening to a few of my tracks. I think you'd enjoy them.
Dude, this is awesome. As Ekhudson said, an orchestral accompaniment would bring out the epic that is hiding in this track.
Once I get the program I'm looking into, I'd love to help you out with it. Check out my profile and tracks, and see if you think I could do this beast justice.

Really the only issue I would have with this track is the levels of the bass at the beginning. Made me turn down my Turtles. :P
