Again a gorgeous vocal that is reminding me very much of the late great Chrissy Amphlett but this is one to swill beer by and or kick your feet in the air - bring on the cabaret : ) Great tune, instrumentation and production too!
This is (I think) is the best vocal performance I've heard from you - what a job on that bridge - and damn everything about it is so excellent, great start and overall songwriting, amazing guitars, superb production and mix, sweet lyric. Played it three times in a row : )
Wow, that's so nice! Thank you! Yeah I went in three years from "Oh god my voice is horrendous let's not sing" via "well, let's try" to "actually, that wasn't bad". I'll never be Jose Carreras, but at least it's not that cringe anymore.
You know who is to blame for that? Dave Grohl :) He said we are so poisoned by "America's got next talent runway x-factor" and all those silly programs - Bob Dylan or Mick Jagger or any number of artists would never make it there. Just sing to the best of your abilities and get a tiny bit better every day... and then I tried it :)
Thumpingly fine with the unmistakable Dimestop vocal performance, quality hard rap and a ton of swagger - for someone who clearly says "Im not a singer" you sure are punching above your weight. Some things might stay the same but when I come back to listen on Looperman seems things get better and better! Real class here.
hello Nonube its been awhile since i last seen you around, hope your well bro, yeah, i dropped that 'i'm not a singer that i always use to state, ive been practising since i started i'm a couple years in now and the support and help from top vocalists here all who have now collabed with me, and in the studio has helped me lots and gave me confidence, i think my voice is lousy but my friends in life say you sound good bro, now your experienced and your engineering skill makes a big difference, they tell me to stop doing myself down, dimestop isn't Paul, Paul is anxious more times than most, dime is who i wish i was he's confident, but he's just a character i created im my head :))
thanks for the time bro
Lofi indie chill - I love it - like those plinky guitar lines weaving in and out (reminds me of the go-betweens), the bass offering some counterpoint and the drums do the job well, yeah the production sounds kind of minimal but it fits the style of the track well and I like the vocal - ends a little abrupt but thats just a invitation to play it again hey
thank you for the kind words i truly appreciate it and im checking out your tracks now your stuff is awesome! very imaginative and atmosphere inducing, cool shit nice to meet you!
Gorgeous work, gentle melodic shimmering and bubbling, nice flute sounds, nice foley and synth leads, gentle ghostly piano - all superb. Spoken word fits the tone really well too and it unfolds compositionally in a very pleasing way
Indie Trap Music Box tumbling beautifully along - this would be a great soundtrack for timelapse city scapes and scenes I reckon. Like the pulsing 808s (I think) and fresh use of the trap drum sounds in combo with the lovely interweaving melodies
Beautiful work and such very nice depth and space in this mix, an aural pleasure - it's lively as much as ambient and is quite hypnotic and yeah CC is a master when it comes to naming the genre (alt) trip hop. Gotta love an (alt). And Im looking forward to Manu being a better muso than you ; ) ; )
70s were such an influential era for me..I love Blondie, Kate Bush, and Lene Lovich, Toyah, etc and saw them all live. Lyrics just flow from life experience, so I guess they hit a chord, Thank you so much for feeding back.
Bagpipes...what a good idea. Through your comment I had the opportunity to learn about square dancers and this is another good thing about this multi cultural community. Thanks so much for listening and commenting.
My best regards, Anthony.
Very nice work Morash - know its weird but for some reason I started to think about an old album 'modern sounds of country and western vol 2 - 1962 - Ray Charles' ... one side of that album has the most full on string arrangements with country and western tunes and the other side has the most full on brass arrangements with the country and western tunes ... I guess I was thinking how that sort of addition, of strings or brass, would pump this up ... Id go for the brass personally.
At any rate it's got a lovely warm sound and beautiful hip hop groove and pulse as it is.
this is excellent - the beats are very hard hitting but are expertly contrasted with the melodic instrumentation, gorgeous! And its kind of thematic (if that makes sense) the bass, the synth and the plucks in melodic interplay against the dark trap beat
Thanks for the feedback man - It really does help keep me motivated. I appreciate the acknowledgment of the theme(s) - i try to do that with every song I do. I see music like a painter sees the canvas - its my job to convey feelings and emotion to the listener. Its always rewarding when I succeed. Thank you.
mixing it up Anthony, good on you, this is bright, brash and deeply funky, it threatens to trip over itself but always keeps its balance despite the pace - very cool
Thank you for listening and commenting on my music. I am really glad you liked it and as you say it is balanced for the listener.
Wish you the best, Anthony.
Hey Michael - these teasers sound beautifully produced and your voice sounds amazing - best wishes for a successful release
btw - I neglected to answer a question you asked when commenting on my track from last week - the vocal was a sample from splice
Sounds really wonderful and yeah there is a kind of 'live' or room quality to sound which is so nice. Love the structure (a kind of slow bluesy funking indie build), and the instrumentation too (that organ and the guitar work) in particular. Vocal is very sweet as always
Cheers mate. Hope you're ticking along OK. Back to the grindstone down here, but a few waves lately to keep me sane, and a pretty inspiring work trip for the last 10 day or so.
Excellent song writing, played with joyful finesse and a beautiful vocal performance - Im sure its not just my imagination but that you are very consistently getting even better and better . Talent plus persistence equals excellence hey
Another lyric with a great narrative and again amazing depth in the sound (i dont know how you do this but I love it) the dreamy steady pulse of the music fits the narrative perfectly - just a little rapid eye movement wobble at the end
Hello Nonube. The sound comes mainly from Yamaha's first digital mixing desk DMC1000 Stereo that digitally mixes up and EQ's the stems. I think it is the only one in the world that is still in production. The output is just 48Khz 16 bit. But I think it is enough. :-) Cheers, Oli

The song sort of completed what I wanted to do with the album, which should be on streaming next week and now already on bandcamp!
