You have a great feel for jazz and it is terrific that you are keeping it alive on the Loop. I too enjoy the "live" feel on this track. I really like the piano in this, it has that old, slightly out of tune, vibe going. All in all, you should be very proud of this track. Really nice work.

Very nice. Is that you on the guitar? If so, much respect. Great bass lines, and really, really nice rhythm guitar work. Nice track to take a drive down the highway with, hehehe. Again, really nice work.
ShortBusMusic
Very nice. This track really is well done. I would bring your vocals forward in the mix. As Thethanx said, they really are the focal point on this so it would be nice to have them front and center. But that is minor nit picking on my part. Great backing track (kudos to Protege) and great female vox (props to imajen). I'd say this one is a keeper. Well done.

I'm back for seconds :)

Another stellar effort from you on this one. Great backing track and considering you do all of this in your apartment, it's a really nice production. I like the quality of your voice. You could bring the verb down a tab, but all in all, you should be proud of this one.

Well done!

Wow young lady, you have some mad vocal skills. Great backing track, but the vocal work is what sets this one apart. I would think you would be in high demand here on the Loop. With you and AJ on here, we just might have cornered the market on great RnB singers. Wonderful.

I think all of us have our heroes when it comes to acoustic guitar. This reminds me of Tommy Emmanuel, which puts you in very special company.

The beauty of acoustic guitar is there is nothing to hide behind...no distortion, no Fx, no nothing.

There are songs that are special, and then there are songs that are SPECIAL. This is one of the latter.

Faved and all I can do is stand and applaud.

Beautiful work, no.... stunningly beautiful work.

Wow!Thanks so very much my friend,I wish I could live in a state of inspiration that was there when I recorded this.It was everything coming together at the same time cause you're right..it's just yourself and the instrument.
I don't deserve your awesome comments but i'll tell you that I do appreciate it so much because I did put my heart into it and I'm so pleased that it was heard that way,i'm a strong believer in trying to create a feeling and emotion first in music...there's always room for the fun songs and we all play and love them,I'm just happy to occasionally get it right and move someone :)
Thanks again,

This reminds me of my youth in Wyoming, when it was legal to drink at the ripe old age of 18, and some of the nights I spent in the Silver Spur Bar. Man, what a nasty place that was, but the beer was cold and cheap, and that was all that counted.

The place was full of cowboys all the time, smoking Pall Malls, reeking of horses. Deep lines etched in their faces as they stared into their drinks. These were real tough guys that would just as soon kick your you know what as look at you, hahaha. I miss those times.

Thanks for bringing back my youth, if only for 2 minutes and 53 seconds. A masterful job.

I love when music takes you back to a certain period in your life, certain songs do that for me too. I can't hear Jose Feliciano's version of Light My Fire without it bringing me back to a child of about 4 y.o., sitting in the backseat of the car waiting to pick up my Dad from work.funny.

Thanks for stopping by,

WTF??? How can a track with 467 plays only garner 2 reviews??? I have no clue why people who listen can't take a few minutes to drop a comment.

This is really good. Well constructed, great guitar work, and it is set up nicely for vocals. I don't know if he has time, but Matt Beer (theonetruebrew) on here has a great voice. You might drop him a line and see if he's interested. Great build around the 2:00 mark and then again at the 2:45.

This is quality metal. Keep playing and for those of you listening to this, drop a damn review.

Hey again ShortbusMusic :)
Always a pleasure reading your reviews, you're def not one of them who just writes "good song", and I like that.

I've been doing several tunes with Matt during my time here - you should check them out if you like his stuff :) We did a metal-colab a while back called Provoking.

link here:
http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/30056

Matt sure has some serious talent, but not the right singer for my heavier stuff - I think its a matter of taste :)
He also have more songs on his profile that we did together btw.

And thank you for the great words on my work on this one. I was hoping someone would grab it and add vocals, but noone ever did. Ahwell, just gotta make them better then ;)

Thanks again mate, have a nice evening!

Good job on this. It is difficult to sound good live.....people are used to the polished sound from a studio, but you guys really did sound good. Best of luck with the band in the future. Keep rocking.

I'm back for seconds. I was interrupted the last time before I could drop a comment. This is really nice. It is about as chilly as you can get :)

The chord progression reminds me of an old song....but alas, I am too old and senile to remember the name of the tune. Regardless, it is a great chord progression that evokes emotion. The orchestra is a wonderful touch, and the Rhodes is what really sets this one apart. Beautiful work.

on For Her Love by TheFightingOne
Dammmm, this is epic. I loved the chord progression and pad treatment on this one. It is Sunday morning here and I am having my first cup of coffee of the day. What a wonderful way to start the day....like I'm in the middle of something special. Absolutely beautiful production, mixed extremely well.

The only thing I would consider is possibly adding some strings or brass or, hell, maybe the whole orchestra when the piece builds to a climax.

Or you could leave it alone since it is pretty close to perfect.

Thanks for starting out my day the right way.

Hey,
Thanks for the review, I really love it when people like my music and I'm glad it has the effect on you i want it to. The track was written in two parts, the seconds about to be uploaded.

I think your right about bringing in strings and brass, so I'll have a sit down and a play around later tonight.

Again, thanks for the review, I'm really glad you enjoy my music.

Enjoy your sunday.

on Youve Said Enough ft David Fanning by FinesseNV
Well done! I too love the minimal approach to the backing track. It allows the stellar vocal work to come through and doesn't distract from the message. This one is good enough to be played on the radio. You should be proud of the message, and the messenger. Beautiful work.

Really nice work on this one. It is ambient, but on steroids, haha. I love the drum work, but I also love the way the pads anchor things and keep it on the chill side of the street. It would be fun to see a group of percussionists play this one live. The addition at the 2:50 mark is a magical moment. Beautiful work.

I think Bill hit the nail on the head when he said your guitar work is similar to Jeff Beck. Damn, there is a ton of talent in those hands. You don't get tone like that from anything other than hard work and dedication.

This is a fabulous piece, sung well, and played even better. Congratulations on a wonderful collaboration.

Bravo gents.

Great band, great vocals, great song (I think I see a theme developing here). You have to love the old Tascam's...they give such a great texture to a recording. You are definitely in a league of your own when it comes to vocal work, absolutely stellar. Like Humps said, it is nice to finally hear a complete song from you. Beautiful job.

on City of fire by mcskynard
Wow, I would have to call this one exceptional, especially some of the guitar work going on in the background. The mix isn't perfect, but I think that is part of the attraction to it. In spots, it almost sounds like it was recorded in a stadium live. This is top notch work, from start to finish. Again, percussion is fantastic, but the guitar work is even better. Very, very good metal track.

It is a shame 3 people downloaded, but none commented on your hard work. This is a really nice track. The vocals were a pleasant surprise and fit nicely into the synth work. You might want to bring them forward in the mix just a tiny bit, but overall, this is really nicely done. I loved the clarity and balance on the mix. Very nice work.

on It Gets Better (AkA Wobby) by ChrissG
I don't know squat about dubstep, but I do know a bit about a great production and classy piece of music, and this one fits that bill nicely. Well constructed and well thought out, this one is pretty much flawless from start to finish. I'd have to say this is one hell of a collaboration. If all dubstep sounds like this, then I need to be listening to the genre.

My only minor criticism would be the ending - I was expecting something a bit more creative....but that is nit picking at this point. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, this one is approaching an 11. Beautiful work by all involved.

on YOU LIED by kerry
Very nice backing track - better than nice, exceptional would be the word for it. The guitar solo is off the charts, so my compliments to the guitar player. Awesome job.

I love your lyrics on this one, and the melody you have chosen. Again, there are a few minor issues with the mic, but they don't detract from the body of work. I wish I had you in a studio in person.....we could work magic with your voice. This is a great song. Really really nice.

on MY LITTLE HIDE AWAY by kerry
First, my compliments to the guitar player (is that you?). It is first class acoustic work for sure.

As far as the vocals go, I think they are bordering on clipping in a few spots, and it is probably due to the mic you are using, the recording level it is set at, and possibly the distance you are from the mic. You may have the recording level a bit too high. This can cause issues when you want to put more natural volume or emphasis into your vocal work (dynamics). If you lower the recording level just a bit, and move back away from the mic a little, it will allow you to sing with a bit more force.

One thing to remember, most people have a tendency to sing a little flat when they sing softly. By opening up and using your diaphragm, you will able to stay on pitch throughout.

You have a nice, warm quality to your voice. The only thing keeping you from being a superstar is your equipment and how you use it. Keep singing and working on it.

Please don't take this as criticism. I really enjoyed this and am off to listen to another of yours. Thanks for posting.

on The Coming Ft WaPer by DextDee
This track is more epic than a lot of the movies I've seen lately....more emotion and more going on, and no actors to distract me from the message.

This is probably one of the best hip hop tracks I've heard in a while. The only change I would suggest would be using a vst like Magnus Choir for the choir parts. It is like having your own personal choir living inside your DAW. Other than that minor detail, this one is perfect. Beautiful work by both of you. I'll have to check back after vocals get loaded on this one.

Next time, I'm bringing my popcorn :)

good review right here man. thnx for it. about the choir, i am a big fun of orchestrated hip hop music, so if there is anything that would be a new toy for me, sure why not check it out??
for the choir here, the vsi used is one of the top class ones, Philamonic. and i respect that vsti a lot. but with what u said i may check that one out too to c how it functions, now i need one that can sing the choir words i type

I'm back for more. There is nothing better than an instrument in the hands of a capable musician, and that Jackson comes alive when you play it. Another great piece that displays not only your musical ability, but your production skills as well. This is outstanding work and as good as anything I've heard on the radio. You are rapidly becoming my favorite metal artist on this site.

How can a track have 490 plays but only 5 reviews??? Makes me wonder why people are sometimes so lazy.

This is a wonderful track. The piano break at the 1:00 mark was fabulous. This reminds me of some of the songs of the great metal bands of the past. Your guitar work is simply stellar, and the percussion really makes the track what it is (reminds me a bit of Gene Hoglan).

I needed something this morning to get my motor running and this song more than accomplished that. Now I will hang the paintings back up on the wall and get to work, haha. Bravo

Hey ShortBusMusic.
I've seen alot of the same on other users tracks; alot of plays, but few reviews. Not the most ideal thing, but thats how it is :)

When it comes to the kind words, all I can say is thank you very much and its appreciated alot..!
Although, I must admit that I've never heard of Gene Hoglan, but I suppose its a compliment, so thanks again - haha.

I'm glad I could support your engine this morning, and I hope your paintings are alright :p
