Jamid, this was absolutely wonderful. I think you are rapidly becoming the master, especially at cinematic endeavors. I've listened to probably 40 remixes of this one (the stems of the original had over 2,000 downloads) and your version is by far the best. Not only is it innovative with great percussion and percussive synths, but your mix was fantastic - crystal clear, balanced, and a pure joy to listen to. I have downloaded it so I can listen to it on my morning walks (thank you for that). Really well done my friend. Thank you for putting it all together so well, and for sharing and for alerting me to your great work - you put a huge smile on this old man's face. I hope all is well.
Hello my lord and master Bear,
My dear friend, I am humbled by such wonderful appraise.
Your work is so brilliant that anyone can make a hit track with even me.
I am grateful for letting us use it.
Please keep well and look after your self we need such divine talent in the music industry.
Many thanks again and I am glad you did like it.
Maj
Outstanding work, Eric, but I would expect nothing less from you. You nailed this backing track, and I would agree with Steve that it will take someone with some real chops to try and match Sigrid's vocals (I think her version of this was the highlight of the "Justice League" for me, haha). Terrific backing track with all of the important elements in all of the right places. Wonderful use of dynamics throughout. Well done. I hope all is well.
Hi, Bear. Thanks for the kind words. I guess you and Steve are probably right about trying to match her vocals. Still, this wasn't a complete waste of time. I actually had fun replicating the backing track.
I think the constant underlying COVID-related stress (not COVID itself) has driven the creativity out of me. Haven't had much interest in composing anything original for quite a while. But, truth is that I've had "lean" periods every once in a while previously, so this might not be COVID-related at all. Am hoping that the spark comes back soon. :(
Talk about a powerhouse song. Vocals are, well, you cannot go wrong with Ms. Patricia. The addition of Leo's sax and your impeccable instrumentation, mixing and mastering skills, puts this song up there as one of the best I've heard in a while. This is top shelf material, radio ready, and extremely well done. A tip of the hat and a standing ovation to all three for a job well done. I hope all is well.
Outstanding, Wayne! I loved that movie and really loved this song. You did it justice. Great instrumentation from the horns to the drums. Vox was just perfect for the song. I'd forgotten that it was John C. Reilly who sang the original. I think I'm going to have to watch the movie again, it's been a while. Well done, Wayne. Stay warm in that surf.
As I was putting this together last week I bought the movie and have watched it a couple times since, pretty funny movie. It's up there with School of Rock as far as fun, lighthearted music movies go. Plus the music is great in it, bonus!
Here's John C. Riley at the NPR Tiny Desk Concert with some friends playing behind the desk, great podcast, btw.
We get awesome surf, big surf spot at the inlet. Enjoy your chop! Getting a metal detector this week, be spending mornings and evenings at the beach diggin' pirate treasure and pull tabs.
Well, I'm sitting here with goosebumps. There is nothing better than two huge talents like Patricia Edwards and Richie Winn collaborating on a beautiful song. Everything in this one is absolute perfection, from your vocals, to Richie's immaculate instrumentation and mixing. This is an anthem for rising up and overcoming all of the adversity we face in this world. Thanks for posting this. And thank you for allowing downloads. This moves to the top of my playlists. A tip of the hat to both of you and now, I'll stand and applaud. I hope all is well.
Ahhhh Mr. Bear. Isn't Richie wonderful? :-)
Thank you for stopping by!
So happy to be at the top of your playlist. Haha.
Hope all is well with The Bears. :-)
Brother, it has been like forever since I stopped by to give your work a listen. Glad I did!!! Bass work is just stellar, as is the rest of the instrumentation. Mix is spot on. I hope you are staying safe in these trying times. Keep on cranking out the hits. This one is absolute fire. I hope all is well.
First, let me say I hope your depression improved after writing this song. Music is a great outlet for all kinds of things. I love the dissonance on this one. I think it captures your mood quite well. I enjoyed the listen. Keep making music. I hope all is well.
What more can be said...everything about this one, from the musicianship to the vocals to the mix and master is absolute perfection. This one is chart ready and should be playing on the radio, it's that good. Downloading so I can put on my playlist for my morning walk. Well done Michel. I hope all is well.
Hey, I think I have seen you one here before ;) Love your new name. I think you could use a empty tin can with a string and sing the alphabet and make it sound beautiful. I've watched your journey on here for the past 9 or 10 years and you just keep getting better, and I'm not sure how that is possible. Maybe it's maturity, or probably just a ton of hard work. No matter, you really are one of the titans here on Looperman. I hope you are staying safe in these trying times. This was the best one minute and sixteen seconds I've had this month. Thanks for posting.
Wow... your comment left me entirely speechless. Thank you so so much for your kind words, you have made me feel so grateful to be part of this community. Thank you!!
So, I wander over to see what you have been up to and holy cow, smokin' hot. Your control, tone, mastery of the fret board always leaves me with my mouth open. It's like unwrapping this wonderful present, all of these different sonic layers of goodness. You are a guitarist's guitarist, Bill. Simply a master's class of shredding, composition, and some of the best tone out there. I can't give you any thing but major props my friend. Well done! Downloaded to listen to on my 5 mile walk this morning - thanks for that. I hope all is well.
So, it is always such a pleasure to listen to your collaborations. Roz is always in rare form, and your musical iterations are just so special. Lead guitar is tasteful - your playing skills shine through and your mixing and mastering is a master's class in how to do things the right way. Beautiful work and a special song, definitely top shelf material. Added to favorites. Happy holidays, Richie. I hope all is well.
Hi and good to hear from you. It's been a while. Thanks for your comments. So rewarding to have such a positive and thoughtful review. It's much appreciated. Hope you are keeping safe.
Man, this is outstanding work. This one reminds a bit of something that Without Temptation would do...the only thing it is missing is some soaring female vocals.
This, like everything else you do, is so well done. You really are a master arranger. Mix is pretty special as well. Terrific work Traz. Stay safe. I hope all is well.
Yeah, I have to agree, I don't care how you got to where you are, just that the end result is absolutely spectacular. Hey, I see on your profile you live in Florence...is that the Florence in Oregon. If so, I used to live in Brookings, OR and Newport, OR. Sorry for wandering off, haha. Anyway, terrific work. I hope all is well.
Ah, this one is nice. Tasty guitar licks throughout, great bass line, vox are spot on. It's got a little bit of a southern rock vibe to it (maybe that's just me being in Florida that does it for me). Seriously great way to get the morning started. Well done amigos, well done. I hope all is well.
Ms Patricia, first let me say I sincerely hope things are good with you and your family in these really difficult times. When I saw you had done a song with Danke, well two of Looperman's finest artists together can only mean one thing - pure unadulterated magic.
Danke is just so talented, and then you place your magnificent vocals in the mix and well, the result is nothing less than spectacular.
Well done. Beautiful work as always. You never disappoint. Stay safe and all my best. Mrs. Bear sends her love as well (she loved this one as well). I hope all is well.
Yay *\O/* Mr. Bear! It's so good to hear from you again.
And I am glad Mrs. Bear and yourself enjoyed it. :-)
Things are well here.
Danke has some really good things going on!
I really enjoyed working on this. Thank you.
Be well well Mr. Bear.
I have to agree with Cara, definitely reminds me of Linkin Park. The drums are outstanding and that bass line drives this one along like a Ferrari on a winding road. Vox are stellar. It's cold this morning here in Florida, and I needed something to jump start my motor. This did the trick!! Outstanding effort. I hope all is well.
So, all of your work is really top shelf material. Your musicianship is as good as it gets, and you are also one of the most talented songwriters on this site. Production is spot on - this is a master's class in taking a vocal and building around it. Well done Michel. I hope all is well.
Outstanding blues right here. You've got your own style, but you have a little bit of Clapton in your vox. Seriously, there are not enough of good old fashioned blues on Looperman, and I've been around here since 2008 under one name or another. By the way, who is laying down the guitar licks? Anyway, I'm a fan. Well done. Happy and safe holidays to you and yours. I hope all is well.
Joe hit the nail on its proverbial head, what a terrific funky tune. This is a lost art, and it's nice to see that three terrific talented people could lay down such a great groove (the vibes are just so damn good). Man, my hat is off to you guys. Keep making the hits, and the rest of us mere mortals will keep enjoying them. Added to favorites. I hope all is well.
SPEAKING 4 MYSELF,''AH SHUCKS''. JUST TRYING TO HANG WITH YOU GUYS. SERIOULY, THANK YOU 4 THE KIND WORDS AND EARS ON IT. MICKY AND JYNXZ, THESE 2 CATS ARE BAD. HAD A GREAT TIME. HOPE 2 DO MORE WITH THEM. PEACE.
Brother, I've listened to a lot of your music and first let me say, you really have some serious guitar chops. The first thing I notice is how clean your rhythm technique is, the second is the tone. If you don't mind me asking, what setup do you use - guitar, amp, preamp, mics, etc. Love your work, keep ratcheting out those monster licks. I hope all is well.
hi... im using lot of stuff, it depends on current song, but mainly i play string instruments - Ibanez guitar or bass (but id like to use synth bass with some FX also)... midi keys input which can be arranged in piano roll... for recording im not using amps, just redbox and di-boxes pedals... and for instruments ive got over 40 pedals (wanna sell some cause im not using them all)... but if ive got some longer song/projects id like to use VST like Guitar Rig, when you can load previous settings on current song and continue without any change in sound even half year later...
My god man, you are a blues god aren't you? Holy moly, that is some tasty playing right there, like Ry Cooder and Mississippi Fred McDowell got together to play some cigar boxes, and this is what came out. Seriously, this is just about as good as it gets. Not only do you have the talent to build one of these bad boys, you have the chops to bring them to life. Smokin' piece. I hope all is well.
Wow Blues god status!! Thank you Bear! There's nothing like these beautiful guitars, so unique and fun to play and build. I barely touch my six stringer production guitars anymore. Even got into making my own pick ups which seem quite popular. All is well, been working all through this virus crap, thankful the school is closed to unauthorized persons. There's been a few quaranteen build competitions, but this one was a swap, build a guitar for someone, recieve one in return.
Marco, this is exceptional work. If they made candy for the ears, this would be it. As far as the mixing and mastering, I think it is spot on. There is a lot going on in this track, a lot of moving pieces traveling from one side of my head to the other. I'm not sure how you did it, but you allowed for that movement so I could still find each individual instrument without wondering what happened to it. As each instrument moves into another spectral space, another moved to occupy the spot it just left. Absolutely brilliant. This one is a master class in panning and balance. And it's really enjoyable as well. You should be proud. I hope all is well.
Dear Friend, I have read your very thorough comment and I thank you for your words that give me great satisfaction. In fact I worked a lot on the mix of this song to try to make it balanced and defined and I think I did it. Best wishes Marco
Spectacular effort here. Beautifully composed and arranged, and the engineering is really, really tight. An absolutely professional job from start to finish. I not only look forward to more like this one, but a possible album from you guys in the future? Anyway, added to favorites and downloaded (thanks so much for that). Well done! I hope all is well.
First, let me say that your music, no matter what the genre, is always so well done - really professional with extremely tight guitar licks, outstanding bass lines to anchor things, tremendous vox, just the whole package. There is not enough great country on here and I'm really thrilled that you've been providing songs over the past 7 years. I love your music, whether it's rock or country, you always put a smile on my face and prove that there is still room in this world for real musicians. Damn fine job my friend. Added to favorites. I hope all is well.
WOW.. THANKS THANKS VERY MUCH BEAR...THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME ....AND AFTER HAVING A LISTEN TO YOUR TRACKS IT MEANS EVEN MORE......YOUR PRODUCTION PRETTY MUCH SETS THE STANDARD HERE....CRYSTAL CLEAR....TONS OF HEAD ROOM.....GREAT TONES...ALL INCLUDED WITH WONDERFUL TRACKS.....ALL IS WELL THANKS...STAY SAFE
