Yea it has. I still produce ambient from time to time, but mostly just incorporate ambient elements into other genres. I have an ambient remix on my soundcloud page though...

on The Stream by Northway
Hey man! i like the flow of this track! the melody is really nice too. I'm no expert though but may i make a suggestion to add a 4 bar break in there? like in alot of tracks from netsky and sub focus in guys like them i "think", i maybe wrong, but they use alot of samples, especially 4 bar breaks. basically like a lot of "amen break" variations. that's what i've been hearing so far. i've just been studying up on. i started another DnB track (that Energy track isn't actually my first DnB track, at least that i started on) that sounded similar to this. like the main "beat" was there. but not the "groove" so to speak. like listen to netsky's track

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG7cRDcPY3k

BIG difference. makes you wanna move. i thought you could make that type of groove from scratch in like redrum or something(i compose in reason) but nothing worked for me lol so i used one sample and it made all the difference. but if i could learn to make a 4 bar break from scratch im going to learn soon! but still a good track you have going here man! regards

on My First Beat by Maxomunz
I like it man! You had alot more sense of a hip hop/rap beat than i did! i didn't even know at first that hip hop was at a "slowed" down tempo of 90 or lower. i always made beats at the default 120! lol man it sucked lol but this is pretty solid man, the mix could always be tweaked back on, and the maybe more could be added, but this is old stuff! and we move on! thanks for sharing this man! regards and respect

I appreciate the review and the compliment ;) ....A lot of times I actually forget to change the tempo on a song...Most of my songs are the FL studio default 140.I'm still learning though.

on And I Fall- WeaverBard vs Luckyman by LuckyFlaush
Definitely a change in pace and overall style. Seems you picked up better arrangement skills from 2004 till now! really ambient and ethnic sounding! the synth is a nice touch to this and the acapella is a sweet addition to the track. a great transformation of style! regards

on wild desert by jimbo87
Wow man i definitely love the soundscape in this. They are quite good to be loops. I feel like i'm lost in a far eastern desert...frantically searching for water, shelter, food...You do the cinematic genre justice with this track. And cinematic is my fav genre. great work for sure, and a great imagery heavy sound scape. I hope to hear more attempts on cinematic from you soon. regards my friend

Frickin ill cameron! This ish knocks! And i agree with the others, the intro is really ambient, and i love the lingering guitar in the background. Superb track man! no major sidetracks!

on Minor Setback by Spivkurl
You know alot of your stuff is quite simple spiv, but yet it works quite well! Although this doesn't sound too fast pace like DnB usually is. (160 bpm) But who the hell am I right?? lol breaking the rules makes you your own artist! Nice transitions throughout brudda! regards and respect

Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied Unknown - 2028 years ago
Yeah it is quite simple, you're right! This song was really brought together by the addition of the vocoder! Actually the tempo is a little faster at 172 BPM, though I admit it doesn't sound like it. Thanks much for the review and fave!

Really nice approach to the DnB genre man! The synths are very upbeat and happy but mellow at the same time. Nice syncopation within the drum pattern. And the wobbling bass is a nice touch man! great job!

Very traditional like my friend. Ambient and tense at the same time. the tabla and taiko compliment each other superbly. And the throat singing only adds to enrich the sound scape. a great mix and nice use of transitions and space. excellent work.

on Fear Of The Dark by Alen9R
I must admit i've been listening to some DnB lately, and i haven't realized how appealing it is! And the way the drums are arranged are interesting as well! I'm currently making my first DnB track using some sounds from that refill you passed to me! And it's sounding pretty ill so far! But anyways i really like the sounds used here, especially that high tension sound in the beginning. it sounds vaguely familiar...but it's great and it works. DnB master piece brudda. great job! regards

-And reason isn't that difficult to use. i could help you out if you want. Been composing with reason for a year in half now and i learned a bunch, especially in school! Although i wouldn't recommend mastering too "deeply" in reason. you can master the basics of course like the volume of your tracks, but i use izotope ozone 4 for mastering. at least that's just my preference. Although my opinion might change vastly when reason 6 comes out towards the end of the year!.

-Hey check my track man, it sounds pretty solid! i might adjust some more though. but take a listen if you want!

For the intro, I used few 3D_Fx loops, they are excellent, nice panning, and sounds a bit dark ! When/if you will upload dnb track, let me know,I will definitely listen and try to help you!

I am not producing in Reason, in FL I have a better view and it's easier for me to edit things! I use Reason as a sound library, all I need I made in Reason (which is usually basses, pad's, FX's) and then switch in the FL, and Edit as I want!

I for one part of mastering using Cool Edit!
I have Ozone 3, but frankly this thing drives me crazy,I just not know to properly use this Ozone thing hahaha!! I always get some sounds and not the desired effects on my tracks when I using ozone .... I dunno LOL!!

Anyway thanks Neo, appreciate your listening and feedback!

Woot! i can hear this banging in the clubs! jeez excellent dance ready track to get people moving and grooving! lol i like the balance of the vocals in the mix as well, suttle, not too much, but just enough to hear while focusing on dancing to the beat! ha great job man

Mixed with different "genres" you mean lol just had to man. anyways i love the intro, and the marching snares is really nice and dramatic! Nice strings and a nice piano as well! the mix is done quite well too! it does however sound like too many "common" movie soundtracks. try tackling different melodies and use of different instruments to get the same cinematic "presence" but will make it sound unique and stand out. but nonetheless i feel a nice upbeat dramaticness to this, and it is captured well. regards and respect
