I appreciate it bro. I like to keep things short and sweet, like sketches for a sketch book. also somewhat interested in making music for short vids like tiktok and what not

nice intro, this is a different vibe from you bro, got a rock edge, that guitar is fire, slightly different fx on the vocal, and it is a little quieter so the muusic shines too good lines as always Jonnie
JohnSmokey
JohnSmokey replied 5th Nov 2023 - 2 years ago
Paul, thanks for showing love as always. Interestingly enough, I use the same fx on all my vocals in all my songs, whenever I sound different it's just because of how the beat makes me sound. Crazy how the music can carry vocals! I loved that beat.

on Quirky synth song by mdeland1
of course i was always going to return the complement :)) i agree with Micky why hardly any comments this is a cracking mix. quirky is an understatement, love that intro, great synth work plenty of variation to keep you listening, solid beat and drums too the treated vocals are cool, vocodex, is it your voice underneath. the sound production is sharp as well nice job bro, join in a bit more bro i see you have 3 in your profile

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! Yeah I did the vocals with the TC Helicon talkbox pedal, but my real voice is baked in there somewhere haha. I'm cooking up some new stuff that I'm hoping to upload soon.

thanks a lot man :) I'm making a video for it with loads of birds, monkeys and snakes... but the snakes and tigers are of course also metaphorical in this song, and those are less fun, sometimes.

Thanks for listening, as always!

i checked the other too bro, no comparison this is clean far clearer the first had far more side noise, hiss. i like the high melodies work you added the production is far better too, the difference shows how you have grown as an artist with far experience now than 3 years ago, nicw work Koga keep em coming

I was lucky to get to update this one! That OLD USB drive I Found with projects on it, this was one of the original tracks I made was on it. turns out that even back then I was working on a remix and decided to finish. I have some other unfinished Electronic Focused music I never posted. I'll be working on those soon!

on Fckin Darkness UK DRILL made by me by ProdHolics
nice work TG, you got a decent grimy feel going on, the mix itself is good an an interpretation which is always good to hear of the genre but like others you need to revisit the kick the sound and tone seem flat to me and the only reason i say that is because its too loud and dominates an otherwise decent track, nice too see a new member too, loads of advice here, collabs, and a good bunch, so join in play your part comment reply and make friends you grow more as an artist, trust me i know.

on Ice Planet by StarTravels
nice work captain, this track as got bags of groovy going on, i heard Robbie had gone AWOL rumour has it he survived the crash landing and was immediately transported to the medical centre but he was caught trying to warm an ice Goddess, that carries a severe term in the penal colony so he done one, never said goodbye to anyone. remember the Motto when you signed up all them years ago
'never leave a fellow looper behind we consider that a crime'

go find him boss bring him home safely, his family are missing him, safe journey
and the bass was fine for me, it cuts through but some like it loud and grimy great work as always

StarTravels replied 27th Oct 2023 - 2 years ago
Where the hell did you get this information? I hope your sources are safe, because these tips will of course be followed up immediately. Warming up an ice goddess...that does indeed look like my mate Robbie...poor guy. All engines at full power, warp drive....

on My Time by BlackFira
yeah bro don't be shy if you play your part in the community and you keep bringing good work and commenting on others you'll make good friends and people will offer you also, its all about growing and getting better we all join to have fun, your just as important as everyone else put collab request on your next tell them what you want and see how it goes singers like good tracks with rhythm space for verses and a catch change for a good hook chorus line, i might jump on one if its takes me, i admit im not the greatest but im not garbage either, they also tell me im a good song writer probably my strongest skill along with being a big promoter of our platform and wanting more people to join us so come on in Blackfira and show yourself

on My Time by BlackFira
nice track bro great intro building to that fire bass, tight melody and drum too, its got variation, the vocal could be a few db higher for me but other than that its a good track. and you dont need to use vocoloids there's plenty singers here or real vocals for download just reach out and ask for a collab with someone you like
BlackFira
BlackFira replied 25th Oct 2023 - 2 years ago
Thanks man, means alot. Ill make sure to have the vocals higher in the mix when/if i work on this more. I was a bit nervous about approaching someone to sing on one of my tracks but from the sounds of it i was unfounded in that belief.

on Midnight Drive by deanp
bro i come back cos my comment was short, save that mixer chain preset its good wont work on everything but little tweaks we expect got a few saved myself and vocal presets smother work flow half the works done most of us use our favorite plugins all the time so saves save time.an recording to your master a bag of times, i get you on that bro i render my work next day mp3 listen, nah that needs changing thats not what i want sounds shit today and to be fair ive had a track ive completed ready to go, then i here something i dont like, back to tweaking and i have render a track about 15-18 max i thought that was big but 64 i'd be bored of listening to my own work :))) i dont know how many tracks you got on this but i use more their for vocals ive had 32 on one track still half your big boy score but quality takes time bro as here it shines through the extra effort, well done. i always listen on headset its the only way to get clarity and no latency really, i do listen on speakers too but i prefer headset
deanp
deanp replied 24th Oct 2023 - 2 years ago
I got you. It gets to the point where I'm sick of hearing the track. And I also am with you on the next day listen. So many times you can be happy with what you've done, go to sleep happy about it and wake up the next day, listen to it, and immediately notice something is off. That is quite horrifying. I think I've genuinely developed OCD with it. Anyway, it is a necessary evil. On to the next one. I'll try and get some more feedback on yours shortly. Have a good evening.

Thanks mate. I set up a new mastering chain on this one and gating in the risers near the end. I think only listening through headphones would to it any justice. i actually recorded it to a master channel 64 times before I was entirely happy with it, so a lot of time has gone into this to say the least!. Looking for disorph's take on this track also, as I know he likes synthwave. This isn't too far off that theme. Thanks again - from South Wales.

on Rock Study by toeslap
hi bro i know nothing about rock im hip-hop but i fancy myself as a rockstar. i wrote what i believe is a cracking rock vocal and i have been snubbed for no apparent reason on the collab request that an artist offered, although said artist commented back to everyone including yourself i never even got a reply and mine was the only offer to sing, i have no issue the artist saying no, that's their choice, but to be snubbed, fuck that. im an established artist here im well followed and give back to the community more than anyone. nobody insults me for no apparent reason
i heard your track yesterday and believe i could tweak my lyric to this. which in turn means i like this track :)) i know its free to download which i have, i've extended it to 2.27 shorter than what i wanted but enough and as i'm polite and like to ask the artist first if he minds me singing on his work. hence the comment and explanation, im being fully transparent with you.
this could be the stumbling block though, well for you, i don't give a shit im a tough boy im giving it the same title as his track so it could be controversial and i will also give you the same options. feel free to say no i wont be offended if you would rather your track not be used. but this song is coming irrelevant of your decision i'll find something else or write my own but my rockstar vocal WILL be heard, go on bro, i dare ya, i'll give you full credit in the description it will get bags of listens you won't be disappointed, check my back work out i write good songs most here will tell you that too. and my singing and delivery have improved this is no toeslap this is a face slap are you tough enough :))
p.s the chorus lyric is already up on the request post if you can work out who? i'll tweak it in my favour now and i will make it crystal clear who in my description if you let me go ahead

on Bad Luck by theHumps
great intro Wayne, your brand and delivery are stamped bro you have always delivered. this with its old skool London punk style is class and takes me back to when it was bang in fashion. you are having a ball with your new kit your loving that moog theremin lead eh.
i use to do alot of calibration for Moog aerospace :))

There's a lot of this kinda music being made these days. It's more modern rock to me than classic rock even tho it's roots are solidly bedded in the "classic" rock style. I think of the Black Keys, for instance. I'm doing music in that general style without trying to directly sound like them.

You get your style from your music heroes, nicking this off that guy and this thing off of that guy. Like John Prine, he's another guy who I take his lyric writing style to heart, some humor, weird situations in the songs and great stories. Combine good lyrics with some cool, modern sounding classic rock or punk, well that's a formula that excites me musically!

Thanks Paul!

on No Turning Back by Micky
Hi Micky, nice to see ya, love the vocal, its sounds a little different a lot softer but still smooth AF maybe just me ive got a new headset but it packs all the groove and bounce you always bring maybe a new processing change i dont know. the bassline is fire. and that synth melody is fly production is always top draw pro sound. speaking of daw' ive always used fruity loops and audacity so couldn't comment but ive read good reviews and tbf daw' are just the car that drives you there, they all do a similar job its the expert driver that brings the flair so look at it as Logic Pro got another expert driver on board good takes time mate great work

on Bleed Out by toeslap
nice little track bro i can here fire here but like Bou i think its over processed, certainly the vocal, but that doesn't make it wrong just not my taste, maybe revisit it and extended it to 3 mins because the music is dope
toeslap
toeslap replied 13th Oct 2023 - 2 years ago
I appreciate the constructive criticism from both of ya. I am a big fan of processed vocals like Kaskade and others use, but maybe I over-over did it. On these vocals I layered two duplicates and formant shifted them up and down with separate reverbs on them
