I like it! It does sound like winter turning into spring. I particularly like the strings at the beginning it sounds like little birds fluttering. Then the oboe has another spring element to it.
Have you thought of building on the song by adding different instruments that have sounds like the wind blowing, butterflies on the flute randomly drifting in and out?
Then building with each spring instrument until you give the feel that all of nature has joined in the welcome spring.
Then for an ending all the instruments on a victorious positive note with reverb added on the last note to give it a feeling of spring being here for awhile.
thanks for your review and suggestions! I used to be a fan of adding ambient sounds to stress the atmosphere of a track, but somehow i came to being quite minimalistic. in the end if the day it's listeners imagination that is being sparkled by the music - while you hear birds singing, one hears the raindrops, metling snow of feels the delicate sun stroking. I love the picture you draw - and those imaginary birds of yours surely sound better than anything I could add here myself.
I agree with you the first part of the song goes on too long without something different. It does have a middle eastern rock groove to it. Like the string section.
How about adding more unique instruments from the middle east.? Flutes in minors.
. Personally I would cut out the random discordant cord you included.
breakup the monotony of the same melody with perhaps just a accapela drum section, then back to the melody. Then again to breakup any monotony have a solo on a different instrument.
Very nice. It has a fast tango sort of feel. Perhaps adding some latin percussion instruments would really build more body to this song. Then slow it down near the end taking away each intrument one by one except for the strings.
Very nice, caught my attention. A passion to it. There is a long section of the same piano licks at the beginning. Have you thought about only 2 counts of 8 for the first piano section then add on your other instruments? Then as it builds a loud trumpet section that creates an element of surprise and intensity. It would stop any monotony from setting in.
What about the end of your song having just those angelic type voices accapela and then a strong "da dum" with a full orchestra to end strong?
You play the piano beautifully. Have you ever thought of adding drums as you build on the song? Let's say after the strings you go into a kind of a rythmic version of the same song and then go back to the classical feel at the end.

I make home videos and put them on YouTube. Is it legal to use your track as backround on one of my videos as long as it is for non-commercial use.?
Keep on composing. You have a natural talent.

Seems to me like you already have a melody here, just need to have solo sections of
each instrument.
A clarinet with some powerful licks would be nice too.
Listen to the Jazz song "Spain". Using a similar construction of the song. Keep it up , you are really good!
