Well this was an epic trip and just when I was trying to get to sleep! I was expecting guitars given the talk of prog rock but instead got some rather tasty keys. There's something psychedelic about a hammond organ isn't there? Fine work man, sustains that interest and tension all the way through. Cool percs too.

Hey Chris, thanks so much man! Oddly, I first encountered the Hammond Organ in a rocky-jazz context. So its always had prog associations in my mind but you're right, it's probably the most important instrument of the psychedelic age. Thanks for the encouragement and the listen!

Beautiful Maj, got me good in a half dream state. Brutal ending tho! Could almost have done without that!

Quirky little number! Short and to the point. And I like the instrumentation.

Cool rhythyms and I like the instruments and recurring motifs. Has an epic feel to it. I also enjoyed the mythological aspect and background you provide. Such a rich source of inspiration.

Oh thanks, man. To be honest we are shamelessly self-satisfied with the fusion of Nordic mythology and our musical style. It provides a historical and spiritual dimension to the music that takes it beyond sheer entertainment to us. Old techniques/imstrumentaion for old tales, but with anachronisms to the present by the electro parts.

on is it me by randalld
Nice guitar tone and your voice sounds rich. I kept expecting a crash of guitars but no it left me in suspense. Melody definitely reminiscent of nirvana but still really good work. Enjoyed my listen...:)

Well I figured since it was you this wasn't going to be your standard reggae sun splash. And sure enough, this has an urgency and a cinematic vibe that is a long way from that. Great track!

I have always tended to like the darker more experimental side of reggae and (original) dub music

on A Mystery It Seems by Spd2
Love the evolution of this and the spacey, mysterious vibe. Different chord changes and melodies keep me guessing and provide a feeling of suspension. Great mix and production too.

It must have been a good potato. Don't worry about your voice I think it is more than fine. Reminds me a little of the singer from portishead. I liked the lyrics too.

Far out. Super professional, stellar performance of a great song by a great band. Funnily enough I was just listening to a few of your other tracks and was thinking your voice sounded like Chris Cornell's then this gem popped up. Wicked!

Twenty years? The blink of an eye mate. Sounds good to me, like those old school synth sounds, kind of 4am outdoor dance party sauce.

Funnily enough I was wondering when you were going to pop up again. Cool bit of psychedelic surf rock. I like the looseness of it.

on EP track 3 - The Rains of the Fall by BaoBou
I think your track is rather beautiful. It has nature in it, just like the poems. Never fear about your voice man, I like it and on this track they are definitely on the money. A bit of Santana in this maybe.

After my son was born I distinctly remember looking up at the sky and stars and knowing for sure that Love was the principle that held the universe together and that without it nothing would work. This is a sweet wee track that somehow mirrors that.

Sloppy I heard you say. Man if this is sloppy I may as well give up. Super tight to me. Really good vox performance too.

Haha thank you man. Just staying critical of myself - we all move forward step by step, or possibly 2 steps forward and one step back. Sometimes we are too critical of ourselves (yes, you) and sometimes... I get overconfident.
Thanks so much for the kind words, much appreciated :)

Hadda laugh at the first vox sample. And holy ##### is that your synth guitar or the real deal?!
Jynxz
Jynxz replied 18th Sep 2022 - 3 years ago
Hey Zoot,

Short answer; No... I wish I could play Guitar, I'm a poser lol. I do try to think like a Guitar player when I write Guitar parts.
For the last couple of years I have been experimenting
with a Guitar sound from my DAW that has the Guitar sound
and feel I want. So far I have about 3, I think the most
important part is the settings using a Jazz or Stratocaster
VST. Also I like the Bluecat effects VST when I want feedback or other Lead Guitar type effects.

I really appreciate you giving my track a listen, encouraging comments and for the FAVE.

PEACE from the topside.

on YEAH BassFace by Jynxz
Yeah! Been trying to get the chance to listen to this for a few days now. Not a descent into madness but an ascent into sanity... If that makes sense. Order emerges from seeming chaos.
Jynxz
Jynxz replied 13th Sep 2022 - 3 years ago
What's up Zoot,

If I understand the Philosophy correctly.
Chaos is just order waiting to happen and
vise versa. Without each other they both loose
meaning, If that makes sense.

Thanks for stopping by and subjecting yourself to
some almost mind numbing CHAOS...LOL.

PEACE...

on Emerge in Love - Kirkoid Mix by Kirkoid
Nice wandering bass for sure, but it's the almost tribal percs and the integration of the vox that do it for me. Some cool synth work too.
