Let me be the first to offer my congrats on your track. This is a very tight composition with some wonderful playing on your part. Always love what you come up with, Mr. Wolf!
Awesome indeed! Good to see you back. I can go on and on praising you on your music and vocals, but I'm sure it's all been said before, but this is a wonderful track. You both did a fantastic job.
Our international band here on Looperman, Musicante, have used your pellas on several occasions and we thank you for allowing us that opportunity.
This is a very fine track you have created. Always some wonderful bass coming from you. Not sure if you are interested in a critique, so if not, please forgive, but I was wondering if your vocal pella had as much reverb or was it added. On my end it seems like a tad much, but again, just my sound system and taste. A great track, nonetheless.
Hi Scott,
Hope everything is well.
Thanks for the nice words, and even a bigger thank for the "critique": the main reason for me to post songs here on looperman is to hear the opinions of the great musicians we are honored to have on this site. The comments on my tracks have helped me a lot to improve.
Coming on the "reverb": unfortunately this is a bit out of my control, since I have not access to the dry pella.
I can try to see if I can improve things working on the wet one, but I am not sure I can do this without ruining the effect she had in mind.
Once more: thanks for the comment!
Ciao, Domenico
No negatives here, Domenico, just high praise on my end. I'm a fan of Janis, as I am, you. My international band, Musicante, and I have used here pellas on a few occasions.
I think Steve is correct about her pella. I have a setting called 'Boost11' in Sonar which I almost always use for vocals. It brings it up front and adds body to it. You may have something similar in your DAW. Having said that, your track is a real beauty as is.
Hi Scott, nice to read your comment.
I will try to see if I can do anything to improve the sound of the vocal part. I will also try to see if I can get more details on the "Boost11" Sonar's preset: if I know what it's doing I can for sure reproduce the same in Logic.
Thanks!
Ciao, Domenico
Haha, only if it could really be played on the radio! Wouldn't even have the slightest clue on doing that, but thank you! I appreciate it, I work very hard on these.
Really good job, ER. You have an excellent band. You are very lucky to have your playing mates close enough to all play together...I envy you! My mates all all over the world, so we have to send the tracks to each other.
Yea, they're all in their 30s haha. They're old bandmates of my oldest brother Ernie haha. I invited em to jump in on the track and they were happy to oblige haha! Was very fun to record.
Very different and very cool. I'm not familiar with Russian music, but to me it sounds more like jazz than pop, but again, not familiar. I love the horns and vocals. Is that you singing?
Super job, Mark. Has many elements I love in classical music. I played in the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for 4 years back in the day, and, being a percussionist, I always love the high energy pieces we did. Doing something like this would have definitely gotten my adrenalin up. I really like the dynamics you used in the piece. The harp and xylophone really sound nice and I love the choir...Hell, I love it all!
Coming from a great percussionist like you that is truly a compliment, and thank you....I loved doing the drum builds at the end and though I love my EDM, I so enjoy creating orchestral music too. thanks again for your kind comments,
best wishes,
Mark

I've had several references to King Crimson on my stuff. Never listened to any. I'll be getting on that.
