on CHOPPER REID by mistafadden
loveing the bass wob. i do agree with the other reveiwers, maybe needs just a bit more happening at some points. maybe a couple variations on the bassline and at one point drop it out all toghther? let the drums roll and bring some more spacey effects into play. good stuff tho really. keep them comeing!

LOVE it when the bassline kicks in! too short tho brother, maybe work some variations of the bassline. drop out the drums let the bass go for a bit, bring it all back then drop out the bass. switch up on and off, theres ALOT of potential for a monster here my man! BigUP!

on Games without Frontiers - Genggong Baboon Remix by n0mad23
yeah man! awesome remix. this is probably my favorite peter tune.
deffinatly kept some of the original feel, love what ya did with the whistling part and the reversal ya got on the beat is a nice touch. love it! great dub mix! good luck!

Thanks for the good wishes and vibes! This is actually one of my all time favorite Peter Gabriel tunes as well. I used both reversorator vst and supatrigga vst in send channels to get the glitchy dub thing right. Great stuff for freeware! Cheers.

wonderful soundscape! rythmic bliss, i love it. reminds me a bit of micky hart and the rhythm devils. he had a huge steel i beam that he stretched piano strings over. when he played it he got sounds somewhat like these. i love rythmic percussive driven grooves. superbly done!
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
I hadn't thought about Micky Hart's monochord while doing this, but it explains why I've had so much fun. His books are worth reading, too. Our approach to percussion is quite different, but I really appreciate his work. This one will be pretty cool when I get it done. Thanks for the listen and review!

on Hybridity - a Subversive Dance by n0mad23
this is really good! i like how at first the tune just kinda wanders like its looking for something. then the vocal comes and snap everythings all dancing toghteher. love it! great job!
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
Yeah man, I'm glad you caught the wandering factor. I did that to emphasize the "dance" concept and how cooperation can lead to unity. Wasn't sure it'd work musically, but I'm encouraged that you hear it. This one definitely has taken on a life of its own, and I can't wait to see where it arrives in final drafts. Thanks for the encouragement and review here!

on Zip Line by jahknow
had to give this here sonic adventure two listenings. that bass is wicked. cant say ive ever really heard a bassline done like that. its genius in its minimalism but all the more powerful. kind of like the organic world is being overtaken by some electronic glitch tribe from beyond. i like it. alot! mind warping goodness bredd! peace and blessings.
jahknow
jahknow replied Unknown
I was very unsure of how I'd like this sound, but the more I listened to the bass sound that came out of the scanned synth, I just had to leave it as is. Some very strange electronic hum sound under all that other stuff makes it feel real other worldly.

thanks Ark. Soon you and I gotta do this up.

wow. massive. big. dark. powerful dub. as a long time fan of dub music i can say with confidence that this is deffinatly one of my favorite pieces. well arranged and the sounds you used convey the storyline perfectly. i admire the work you did with the guitar loops. not a bad word form me brother. outstanding!
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
A gestation piece really - this is the result of playing with the same jahknow loops for 5 or 6 months until the Muse took me by the hand and down this path. Once it clicked, I knew. Thanks for both the favorable review and the fave! A major compliment!

on The Predatory Ruminations of the Leaping Razor by n0mad23
Wow. this is truly a awesome sound scape. those throaty chants almost sound like a didgeridoo. i love the ambiance. i do almost feel like im being stalked by some vicious feline sulking in the tall grass. hidden just out a site but ready to pounce. excellent production!
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
The "throaty chants" and the effects stacks on them were originally an attempt to recreate a sort of dubstep wobble with the human voice. Though not successful here, I'm convinced it's something that can be done and probably should. Got to stick something really organic into the mix. Thanks for the thumbs up and review!
