on I Wont Forget You by brillbilly
I have always liked Eshar's vocal samples, she has a perfect voice for these types of songs. Nice track a bit sullen and somber, a bit emotional. Great use of Martin's piano as well. Nice composition, very well constructed.

Loved the intro, pretty cool sounds in this one. This has a dark feel to it, imo. The vocal samples were very effective in adding to the feel of this track. Gotta love the wobbly bits too, thisis a great track Alen9R. If we had the fav button this would have been on my list!

on SKANKY ANN by Planetjazzbass
Very cool track guys! First of is the walking of that Fender Jazz bass, nice work Dave, it really is the bass(base) to all tracks. The drums were great and I loved that roll on the kettle drum or very low bass drum, that was a nice addition. Gotta love Zappo's zen, it really shines through here! ;) Slap makes it all come together with that sax of his, such a nice groove.

This brightened up my rainy day here, excellent all around, great track guys! Skanky Ann, my friend dated a Betty Akinhole, wonder if she is any relation, hehe.

cheers

I can't give much technical advice as I am not learned when it comes to the dance genres but I know when something sounds good to my ears. I can picture a club's dance floor packed with people bouncing around to this and thoroughly enjoying the beat, synths and the vocal bits. From reading the reviews you have on this track it seems like you have a hit on your hands, impressive!

dnb, not a genre I feel comfortable attempting but you seem to make it work pretty darn good. Nice effects around 2:20 making the song fade/phase, oh I don't know how to describe it, but it certainly breaks things up and adds an element of interest. Nice idea here, I enjoyed listening!

Hi Wayne, sorry for the late reply but to cut a long story short........broke lap top, took drugs, broke brain.
Anyway, since i'm now pretty much back on planet earth i thought it about time to catch up with my outstanding compliments/reviews (or whatever they're being called these days)
Thank you for leaving comments on this track (i'd forgotten how it went but it aint half bad actually)

The opening to this was great! Lot's of early Joan Jett in the singing and attitude. You have such a strong vocal and I am delightfully surprised at you taking on this project, it really shows your ability to take on any genre, I'm impressed.

This is almost punk, on the heavy side of it. I just happen to have a track similar(in the ballpark) sitting around waiting for vocals. I did it a couple months ago and I waiting for some inspiration to either do vocals or find someone with the right approach to sing it. hmmmm..... you got me thinking Patricia!

I am def gonna dl this, this is too good not to. Bear is amazing how versatile he is when it comes to making music. You two hit the nail on the head. I think humor in music is essential and I must admit this put a smile on my face and made me chuckle at a few of the lines. You just reviewed my punk track and the lyrics have the same idea going, fun but sung seriously.

Great job!!

I apologize for not stopping by and listening in for some time but this def making up for lost time. The intro was a bit deceiving and once the main body of the song started up with that great drumbeat I was glued to my speakers. I like how you threw some wobbly goodness! A crossover track for sure, nice one!

You are such an awesome singer and you can add the backups like a pro. Such a catchy track. Loved that bass walking before the lead. Overall a great listen. Richie and you should go on tour, I would be first in line for tickets. The bass is a bit, I don't know, puffy, it's hard to explain. It could be my sub set incorrectly(prob is that)Well from my system that is the only thing I hear, other than that, this is top shelf. The writing, arrangement is incredible, you guys hit another level of greatness!! How do you top this one!

Aw! Thanks Wayne.

Not sure what you mean by the bass thingee either :-). Perhaps Richie can shed some light on that?

So glad you stopped by, Richie keeps setting the bar higher so we'll have to see what he pulls out of his bag of goodies next. Thanks.

I'm not a big hip hop fan but I thought I would give this a listen and I was pleasantly surprised. A nice track for a Sunday morning. I have to agree with SBM in that the mix is really good. Great job with all the vocals, there is several vox tracks here and they all seem to work well with each other. Great job with this one, kudos to you and all that worked on it!

lol thanks. You know in all honesty, i'm not a big fan of hip hop myself. I enjoy jazz myself and chill out music. But since my location is 95% influenced by hip hop, it's hard for me to deny it. My preference usually bleeds out on the instrumentals i create and thus a fusion product is often born. Thanks again for the love.

I must admit I miss hearing your music Z. You always have had a knack for this kind of music and in the past I have dl'd some of your tracks, which unfortunately I lost in last years comp crash. I always feel like this is the kind of music I want to hear in a planetarium, lol!! So peaceful, evolving and tranquil.

I certainly hope you can still post from time to time, I hope this is just a sign of the great music we have come to recognize as your style of music and will hear more of in the future.

Miss ya Z, get better, please!!

Thanks for giving it a listen. I'm feeling a lot happier that this time round it's managed to get more than zero comments and zero downloads. It must have sounded shocking before lol!

Very cool indeed! Nice, big sound you have here. To me the drums seem to have more of a hip hop beat than jazz or funk but the music in general has that soulful feeling. Kinda crossing over into a few genres and I like hearing that. Well done!

I've never heard you sing before, it's great to put a voice to the pic. Nice job with this one, I like the tempo and mood to this, makes me feel like donning my kilt and getting involved in a hurling match, lol. As usual, the production was great. I did a traditional Celtic track called Foggy Dew a few weeks back, a collab. It's getting a remix and some instruments added but if you have the time check it out. Something about folk music that just reaches my inner core as a musician. Well done Bill!

Seeing as I don't know the slightest thing about glitch other than there are some glitchy sounds in it, I would have to say this is a great glitch track! But seriously, it's a real decent mix, nice bass lows and some interesting highs here. The ticks and fx sounds add a lot, I get a real cinematic feel going as I'm listening. A high tech thriller opens to this track. Interesting, provocative and I can see your name come across the screen as the director of music, wouldn't that be cool! Well done PBJ.
