Great to see another producer trying to do it all. Good job!
I think you produced a great track; to get to the next level you probably face a similar problem to me; slightly smoother vocals.
I think you can probably dial them back a bit to fit them better in the balance of the mix; but compress the synths/keys with sidechain so the vocals (despite being slightly less loud) still stand out more.
I might be wrong on that though. There are many producers here that are a million times better with vocals than I am and don't get me wrong, you already did a great job.
Great track. Keep creating!
Yo man, I was listening to some of your stuff earlier, I appreciate the feedback! This one of those where I spent so much time in the mix that I think I over- engineered it in some parts. It was a battle with EQ on the synths to leave room for the vocals. I never really considered sidechaining the vocals with synths though.... and I like that idea. I'm gonna try it out. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Cheers!
It's very interesting. In the middle part though I feel there are quite a few competing elements - I'm not sure they all play well together. Can you check that? Unless it was your intention of course ;)
I appreciate that, very much. I can only do so much with my current production setup. But, it's good to know that the art is still coming through. Thank you for listening.
Appreciating the music you wouldn't normally listen to is the main joy I find on a site like Looperman.
This is a great track, but a tad long. I think you can make it even stronger shortening it. Ienjoyed it though!
Haha no, I meant, you should consider finding one of the excellent acapellas in that section on this site and add it to your track.
I make my own tracks. When I was making instrumental tracks I was always hoping somebody would sng to it and that never happened; so at some point I decided to either find an acapella, or preferably, to try and learn to sing myself so I can sing the things I want to say. It felt to me like the easier option ;)
So whenever I see people who make very nice tracks hoping that somebody will use it: yes, that could happen, but if you add an acapalla, you can be certain of it :)
(also, I found while playing with acapellas and later singing that I learned a lot about song structures. It's basically a win-win-win situation.)
