diggin the intro. ima sucker for piano melodies..
it fits together really well.
love when everything drops off except that little organ sound.
there was like one little wobble that kinda comes at you a bit more than the others do. dont know if that was intentional or not.
its a good smooth dubstep breakthrough track!
keept it up homie!
-celest
UPDATE (8-21-10)
right around 0:48 when the "WAOW WAOW WA WAOW" hits, the 3rd wobble comes a little bit harder than the other 3. sounds to me like you have a phaser on it and that might just happen to be when it swells out at you. which if thats the case maybe try soothing the phaser a bit. its nothing BAD that will kill the song, just something that happened to catch my ears. once again, keep up the good work homie!!
thanks for taking time to listen and review man, i appreciate the honesty. if you can be more specific on the time of the wobble that you thought was a bit off, it would help me. I mix through 40$ headphones so its not always so accurate. again thanks :)
update 9/18/2010
thanks man for the update!! i just now saw this, i wish i got an email for updates! will have to fix that, thanks for the tips!
finally!
i come across a decent dubstep track.
only took going thru 4 different artists.
dont take lightly to the use of decent tho.
this track is very nice.
good quality track.
which is always a plus.
love the snare at the beginning!
wobble is nice :D
fav'n this one homie!
i like the variety of genres in your playlist!
keep the skills up!!
-celestial
ima HUGE fan of any kinda REAL piano playing/sounds.
good ol fashion piano.
love that melody.
very chill.
im all about chill music homie!
love those elec piano chords, very uplifting.
this is the kind of non dubstep i would love to jam more of.
deff downloading and fav'n!!!
nice one homie!
keep this quality up!!!
-celestial
p.s. is that some live piano playing you recorded or a vst??
if its live, MAD MADD PROPS!!!
i like that raunchy a** wobble you got going.
deff need to work on mastering your track.
balancing out the tracks.
the snare and wobble are overpowering/drowning out everything.
not tryin to sound like a d*ck, so please dont take it that way.
this track has the potential for a good tune.
one thing that will help is tryin to balance EQs.
listen to the track over and over again and figure out which sounds are posed to stick out and which you want in the background.
im not a pro at mastering in reason, honestly i dont even know how.
all in all, its a good track homie!
fix those EQs and you got gold
-celestial
i like this one cuz its got those Saw samples.
filthy!!
my track, Misery, has saw samples from Saw, Chucky, and Carrie.
the wobble has a bit of a Reso feel to it.
we will deff be doin a collabo soon homie!
i like this tune.
grimey but not all in yo face grimey.
love the bass melody.
i downloaded and fav'd this one.
im gonna throw some bells on this track as a counter melody.
see if it i add a touch of heaven on such a filthy track!
haha
i like the dark grimey-ness of the track.
nice take.
i like/hate how the bass is the melody.
more of a personal preference.
nothing against you.
if you hear my music, youll see i like soft mellow high end melodies as opposed to bass melodies.
Cheers man, i understand about the bass being the melody. i'm just going for a slightly funky-dark dubstep vibe, just works out better when the beat rides the bass for me. to each his own =P
i'll definitely give your tracks a browse tho.
thanks for takin the time.
Falter
i am SOO diggin this between post hardcore and dubstep.
nice vox homie!
like that filthy wobble...
maybe tone down the guitars a TAD bit.
nice mastering.
nothing really drowns anything out.
at first this song just sounded like another lousy attempt but dubstep. (no offense man)
BUT I WAS WRONG ABOUT THIS SONG MAN!
right when the beat kicks in, i was like "AAH YEAH!!!"
nice tune homie.
if i may, id like to remix this tune.
i got all kinds of high end melody ideas to beef the track up.
so its not so minimal.
i hear some dub siren :D
i jammed this last night but forgot to review it.
diggin the bass line.
deff has a Jah Know feel to it!!
like dv8 said, multi-layered, and multi-layered very well!!
dude this collabo is so sick!
much props!!
im glad i went collabo with you for this.
krunk.
if you dont mind, im putting this remix on my myspace page.
soo effin redic!!
i love the beavis and butthead samples.
update: yeah man thats fine with me if you want. i doubt ill remix it, but its good for future reference
LOL @mightymoll - "Its like Stenchman and Widdler had dubstep sex, this was born and you're the stepdad."
hahahahaha
i like this tune.
i cant explain what my thoughts are processing.
my ears are melting..
*system meltdown*
this tune blow me away Chud!!!
maybe the no internet thing was good, cuz this tune is just, wow, amazing.
not that your others arent, cuz youre deff one of the top dubstep artist on here in my eyes.
keep the grime comin!
-celestial
UPDATE: only thing i would try is maybe makin the first drop a lil softer or makin the second drop a lil bit harder. theres a slight difference already. that 1st drop gets my head movin, but i want that second drop to fry my brain cells!! haha
Hehe thank you! I love it too. Im still not sure about the two drops in between though, I might just get rid of them, I couldnt get them to work right, but i needed something to break up the song with...So I might update it with better drops or them taken out all together. What do you think?
i like the melody after the drop.
the effects for the chopped synth are nice!
my ears are going nuts!!!!! haha
guitar solo transposed to synth, wicked.
(im reviewing the song as i listen to it, speaking my first thoughts)
so far this is a really nice track!!
forreal.
maybe compress the snare a bit.
second drop hit, nice.
like spivkurl said, im amazed by the sound created from the 3xOSC.
nice layers.
i understand what you mean by you just got excited.
i get the same way, i create something that i really really like and i forget about everything else lol.
not bad for a first go.
what i would do, is wait a week, go back and mute the bass track, THEN edit the rest of the track. that way the bass doesnt distract you from the rest of the tune. then once thats done, bring the bass back in. i also noticed that you got a bass layered a bit, which is a good start. maybe add some sine wave sub sounds to be he foundation.
ya thx! i used a vst for one of the pads (or synths...whatever you wanna call it) Just downloaded Kontakt too...looks like some serious business...THX!
thanks for droppin by. the comments are flattering, because it took me ages to get the levels right, especially the last minute of the track where there is so many instruments flying around....
cheers man..
love your stuff, keep it up!
PEACE!
Butcha d-_-b
this is me being straight up.
not talkin shhh, not saying im better.
musician to musician
i like the melody and the phaser you put on it.
but you should try making a counter melody or something to go with it or something. maybe cut out the melody a for 16 bars then bring it in with everything. you get what im sayin?
i mean, if easy simple beats are your fortay then i understand, but technicality without over producing is what can turn some heads.
if you want, i could maybe try throwin something else on there for ya. add a counter melody and a bass line.
hit me up if that sounds good.
if not, its cool.
all in all, this track has potential.
just needs more work put into it
