Dude not sure why u would have so many listens and no reviews (and 8 downloads???). Anyway I thought the track was well put together and from around 2 minutes on I thought it flowed really nice. The vox and fx seemed to sit a bit further back in the mix from that point and seemed to fit better. Good job.
Hi n0. I'm still getting that Ozric Tentacles vibe that we discuused before but this track also really reminds of Hawkwind's Ghost Dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYpWgV6QJq4. I think it's the rythym. Certainly a lot going on but defo has your distinct flavour.
I haven't thought about Hawkwind in ages! Thanks for the link, and I can really see why this one reminds you of that! Personally I think this quest for originality is rather silly, as there are only so many interesting rhythms and melodies possible (mathematically). The key then is doing something that works for you as the artist. If any one else digs it, it's frosting on the cake. Thanks for the listen!
I liked ur track although I would'nt really say it is Dub. It does have some Dub elements to it but I would say it's more electronica. If you would like it to receive some increased dubification send me the files and i'll do it for ya. Good work.
Hi A6. The 1st minute or so was too much for my brain and ears to handle and I was'nt that keen on it. However from about 1min on the track changed and I really liked it. Not sure about the long drawn out ending? But the middle was good progressive dance music. Nice one!
eightiestastic! anyone of a certain age interested in electronic music will be very nostalgic listening to this. i'd love to hear it with vox (but only if they were as good as the track). Good job M.
I thought the music was great. Did'nt think that the vox sat well with the track though. Def would have preferred to hear it as an instrumental piece. Good job tho!
Not bad - needs a bit of filling out. Has a nice chilled vibe but could be made a bit more exciting. Have a listen to the tracks in the dub logbook in the forum. That'll get you inspired. Personally I would be dubbing it out a bit more. More feedback, reverb, echoes etc and possibly some vox of some kind. Check out my dub track with Dungbeatl. He's hosting it on his page. It's called Blackbeatl Dub. I think it may give you some pointers.
Of the 3 impromptu pieces I thought this one was by far the best. Very chilled reminded me of Steve Hillage and some of his ambient work with The Orb and System 7. Good job.
Nice track Paul. Very much shades of Joshua Tree era U2 again with hints of Joy Division or early New Order coming through. I'm not sure though which was the chorus? I did'nt dislike any of it but it's really crying out for a more powerfull obvious chorus. Catchy all the same.
This sounded familiar, so I guess I must have listened to it when you had it up before. It's a catchy tune and for the most part your voice sounds good too. I would say that the track would benefit from better production and agree with Nick that the levels need a bit of a tweak. It could be a great commercial house track.
I think you have the platform to make a really good track. I did'nt like the stop/start effect when it kept cutting out to the hats and some of the layers you added were a bit hardcore sounding for my liking. Not bad.
Well it would be hard not to see the Chems influence. I will 2nd paul on the voice compliment. I think some of the cymbals and higher end stuff needs a bit of a tidy up (i was getting some hissyness). If you ever wanna do somethin together let me know.
AS luvin that voice again! No the bass line does'nt bore. It's good - keeps the mood of the track flowing. I did'nt like the little section from 1.50 - 2.20 (seemed a bit messy). Overall though. I liked it. Could definitely be expanded!
Thanks for the specific feedback, blackryan. That's what I need to keep going. I will take a look at that section and do some cleanup. Still working on the expanded version.
I like it - I can defo hear that Aphex influence again. In a Selected Ambient Works 2 sorta style (or church music gone wrong as my mum calls it). Way too short tho.
Recently i find DnB a bit stale. However I keep listening when people post tracks, hoping that there will be something fresh. Your track is bang on!!! Nice vibe, production and loved the little bits of variation. Well done.
