Wayne, it's amazing how you've captured this great nostalgic vibe here. The things that were notable for me, at 0:14 the congo is fire. At 0:31 the side stick..... nice touch. Also, the break at 0:57 was well placed. The total drum mix is done so so well. The vocals..... a perfect fit. So in conclusion, you and Robin make an awesome team. I enjoyed this. Peace.
Those are actually 2 tabla loops I used and not congas but they do sound similar. Robin sent me a bass with a little wobble to it and it helped give it some movement in the mix.
Glad you like it!
AtticElla, the bounce you've got going on here is infectious. Impressive overall mix with impeccable clarity. Now for the vocals, just perfect. I like this track definitely. Great work here. Peace.
clxrityyy, So I like what you've done on this tune. It's dynamic. I would love to hear the next phase of this. Have you tried using file recovery software? This happened to me also and it worked. Hope this info helps. Be safe.
SpeakUpProd, opening up with that piano nailed this chill vibe all the way thru. Maybe some vocals under the rap? I like where this is heading. You're off to a great start I'll stay tuned Peace.

BananaLu, yep this whole production came from the depths of who you are. Thanks for that glimpse. For me the vocals are spot on and strong with a vintage analog overall mix. You doing an outstanding job and please, more tracks with your vocals. Unique work here. Be and stay safe.
thank you kingmt77 :) i´m in the process to find mindself as an solo artist and expriment right now with more honesty in an digital age. I got myself the virtuell mix rack from slate and i really like the comp they offer. I dont have enough money for monitor speakers so i have to mix everything with headphones and i have to learn more. i´m a huge fan of your production. I send you good vibes.
Lookout there Micky/Jynxz! You fellows have been hanging out in the laboratory and according to what I'm hearing, no time was wasted. I'm loving everything I'm hearing from the overall mix to the awesome synth work, those drums tho, and the vocals..... a perfect fit! You guys are legendary and this proves the point. A great collaborative effort. Peace.
wow, this is some pretty flattering comment, thank you so much. On behalf of Jynxz I can say we're glad you enjoyed it. But this was actually one of those tracks I was having great trouble to get it sound ok because of so many elements from different sources/different qualities. But I guess that's when you learn.
samho1, yep you got me with those strings at 0:22. This is too chill. I'm hearing rap and singing all in the same bars. I will say tuned to see this progress. Great start.
Woah! "Daylight come and I want to go home". Ok, BananaLu you coming in hot and sizzling. This mix is so clean you could eat off of it. Impressive to say the least.
Thank you very much kingmt77. I really tried to get better at mixing and not every production is good. I'm broke and i cant even afford monitor speakers but Andrew Schaps (goat of audio production) just use monitor headphones. So i think im on the right eay for modern production.
Bringer, where are you and Jynxz headed on Psychedelic Drive? Did you guys get pulled over by the funk police? You definitely made the trip. This is way too funky. It's interesting how you structured this arrangement from start to finish. You ground hard at the creativity mill as I heard you playing melodies on guitar from "Slices of Funk". Your sax is right on point and Jynxz's keys are a perfect fit. Awesome all around and yes I've favorited this funkyness! Be Safe
You are correct, I took "tiny jam," "slices of funk," and three of jynxz's incomplete tracks' (with and without stems) and transposed/arranged them into this, adding a bunch of things of course.
Some of my older stuff (more last year) is actually intentional song structure avoidance (lots of key/tempo/instrumentation change), or two or three movements with their own motifs, within a 3-5 min framework (the average listener gets bored in about 45 sec to 3 min anyway).
The sax tone is pretty brittle, but I never had much of a creamy vibrato anyway, and the music doesn't really call for it.
Gotta be careful making stuff with jynxz, between the two of us it can go all modern-day "zappa" pretty quick.
Ok so this resonates with me quite well. The vibe is quite solid and that continual undercurrent is just plain fire. Great work I'm taking an interest in electronics because of you amigo!
Gracias compañero Slinky, tu interés por la música es mutuo, yo también estoy descubriendo nuevos géneros gracias a ti. y eso es bueno, aumentamos así nuestro bagaje musical. Gracias por escuchar amigo mío. Buen día. Paz y salud.
This is masterful to say the least. The piano sounds majestic. Also you mentioned 7/8 time signature. With that musically you’re in my town at my address with this! I thoroughly enjoyed this. Stunning.
Wow, don't think I've had anyone use the word 'masterful' for anything I've written before. Thanks so much. Quite happy to move into this musical suburb with you lol
Micky, This mix is squeaky clean. The mastering of this is admirable, to say the least. The vocals are commanding like an invitation to get up and dance. Nice.
Mark, I love to hear that from you. Yes, I must confess that I'm always trying to make my tracks kind of danceable. So in this sense your friendly comment is double encouraging to me!
The creativity here is absolutely off the chain. The intro reeks of Hendrix, Buddy Miles, and Billy Cox. Like a way back machine. Those vocals and percussion fit perfectly. Then you come in with that synth solo! The outro left me wanting more. Great mix and effects
