BaoBou, so I’m echoing sentiments here! Superb job capturing the sheer essence of a live performance. And very lively one at that. I was in a phone conversation with Jynxz this afternoon talking about tracks that are more than just sound. We both agree you must have life in the sound or it’s just noise. When you put life in the sound it’s called “Your Sound” like here. Wonderful listen that’s a fave for me.
That's great to hear Mark, and even more when it comes from you (or Jynxz). And awesome to hear you guys are in contact! Any collab you guys did that I missed or forgot about?
Rob! Mannn…….. Grandma is plugged in locked and loaded. You even captured that corner of Madison and Pulaski ambiance with those effects. Drums on point. I’m good for the day with this one! Thanks for sharing. Faved!
Hey Mark I thought you were going to say you went and got a
Maxwell street polish. I can smell them onions just thinking about them.
Thanks for giving this track a listen, encouraging comments
and the Fave fo sho.
Cam! Yep definitely loving that cinematic entrance. So now the synth’s chord progressions with the string arrangement lift’s this to the stratosphere. It’s excellent how you put that production spotlight on the vocal. Impressive throughout, very impressive!
Thanks so much Mark, glad you enjoyed. I wasn't sure how the LM group was going to feel about this one so I'm relieved that it seems to be landing alright so far lol.
Micky/Jynxz, this one is full on unadulterated free flowing funk. I remember Jynxz working on the synth’s and even in the middle of production It was killer. A Great listen from the team. P.S. I had to replace the drive belt on the cassette recorder. As soon as I’m back up and running I’ll get those hot mix files over. Be safe
Hola Mark,
thanks for listening and for the nice comment. Yes, the funk comes unadulterated...otherwise we'd grow long noses, right?
Listen, dear Mark, I don't want you to go to such an effort to transfer old tapes to digital for my sake. It would be very kind of you, but really not necessary. I guess I won't be able to stop you though... :o)
See you soon,
Micky (of course also on behalf of Rob)
Oh YEAH Rob! Some serious bass business going on. I’m totally loving the break’s. But that section at 2:05 is the chill zone and WOW. Synths are taking my language definitely. You have upped your dynamics game with the overall mix. Another fine composition in the JYNXZ tradition. Faved of course.
What's up Mark,
You know I learned that
Bass pattern from our boy
Big Ant back in the 80's I
bet he would be surprised to
hear that I still remember it.
BTW. I "stacked" the Kick and HH
on this one. I'm starting to get the
hang and ear for knowing the different
instruments on the Drums. I really appreciate
the tips you've given me with the Drums.
Thanks for stopping by and giving the track a listen

Many thanks for your kind comments my friend! You make some great tracks yourself. Your stuff does sound very polished and I can hear your influences in them.
Ok, so you fellas are smooth with the funk here. The synth/guitar work is over the top good. And yep the cinematic ending put the proverbial cherry on top! Excellent work here.
great that you like it. When Robbie and I met here on LM about two and a half years ago, the idea quickly came up to open an extra profile under which we could exclusively live out our mutual preferences for space themes, echoes, large rooms and StarTrek stuff. The "space" here is of course the one in our heads. It's really great fun and especially fulfilling when we can entertain amazing musicians like you with it. Hopefully we'll keep coming up with something new... but you know... since the universe is endless, it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for listening.
Micky (also on behalf of Robbie)
Yep! Right about emotional. Reflective too. This is fire. You deployed that 808 like a lethal weapon! The piano is the main event and the vocals are sitting just right in the mix. You did this right. Great work!
Yes! I'm really digging the balance between the lo-fi vibe with the keys and guitar. That in the cut/pocket beat provided a solid foundation to fully support your track. Fire listen!
Ok Fellas! We’re at the get down right @ about 1:10! What’s so amazing? You two jacked from the mid 80s to the early 90s. Then you fill my ears with that unforgettable sound. You know like the band The System. The synth bass reminded me of them. This is good business.
Oh yeah, The System, I (Micky) was sort of a fan, at least I listened to "Promises Can Break" on repeat for a while back then... who knows, maybe the bass was still stuck in my brain convolutions from back then... Glad you liked it...maybe it doesn't sound like it, but it was quite a lot of work. And harmonic errors are certainly still there, if BaoBou should be right. Thanks for listening and for the kind words.
