Great track. Good dynamics and feel for the singers voice with the music. I really do need to get back on Looper more often, I miss so much awesome music and new musicians. This is solid in every way. Very well done.
Dude, the break at 1.19 is ballz. This is a great track, kind of reminiscent of Fear Factory, but not exactly. You stamped it your own and it is totally badass. Well done. If you're playing all the instruments in this, my hat is of to you. I play bass and guitar, but drums baffle me. This track is tight (musically), and a very good listen. I play in a metal band and do Looperman as another creative outlet; I just enjoy music. I can truly appreciate this. Well done.
I like the fact that you referred to the intro as B-movie horror. I only say that because I am a cult horror/B-horror junky and it totally intrigued me to listen to this track. I thought the intro was spot on. The song was great too, very good and sparing use of samples in the right spots and an infectious groove. Good changes and bridges. A good track, for sure. Well done.
Aw man... I'm just back on here from an EXTENDED hiatus, and I was really looking forward to getting back in the groove with some tunes a la Abe. To no avail. This made me laugh, though. What happened to the rest of your tracks? Have I been gone that long that I am now repeating the same question everyone else has already asked you? Damn.
Nice track. At the beginning it reminded me of a song by Gorillaz (which is perpetually in my CD player), but as it progressed, you took it to another level. The vocals are in the perfect spots, and the beat is kick ass.
You have once again made an amazing song. I haven't been around looperman for quite a while now, and it is stuff like this that makes me kick myself for leaving for as long as I did.
This is a great song. I would still like to collab at some point if you haven't written that possibility off.
A nice track. Good movement, great energy. I was really hoping at about 3.30 you were going to hit me in the face with the bust out and get the F down bit; it felt like it was going that way, but didn't. Kind of left me wanting for more. But maybe that's the point. I know I would listen to this again.
Talk about listenability. Great guitar, kind of distant sound. Great panning and perfectly placed keys. A track I could listen to again and again (and will). Very nice, you are an artist sir.
This track has tangible feel to it throughout, and the chorus riff is money. Very good, liked it a lot. Not sure what I can offer in terms of advice, I liked it the way it was.
really appreciate the comments. ill definately try and use those fixes u recommended. the keys are a loop, one of Mr Robot's i think. its Dance Keys 3 or something like that. yeah i slowed down a higher bpm drum loop and was goin for that slow-mo esque drum effect but it didnt quite feel right for me either so ill try a new one. anyway thanks again, look out for my second try lol. oh and i only use free-ware right now, program i use is TrakAxPC. waitin til i get the hang of it before i invest in a premium program. if u know of any good free-ware lemme know!
take care
What software did you use for this? The piano part is great, and it definitely has a good "chill" factor to it. My one concern is that it sounds as though you may have used a drum track that was too far up in BPM and slowed it down, causing that kind of metallic reverb sound. If that's not what it is, and that is what you were going for, then mt bad. I think the track sounds great, and I really do like it, the drums are the only comment that I have. You also may check the end, as it is a bit abrupt. Fade it out and it is money.
You may try and add a background guitar part to this. Something Minor, and dissonant, you know what I mean?
This was awesome. I thought for sure this was the fretless again, but apparently I was wrong. Your bass work is brilliant, it fits the song perfectly. You have some very serious talent my friend.
Again, well done on a superb track. I am going to favorite this, I love songs that can just be listened to and have your mind flow, and this is certainly that.
PS - I was thinking, and this may be a bit forward as I am a nube, but do you think a collab with 2 bass parts would be possible? I play a 5 string Modulus Quantum Sweetspot and a 4 string Epiphone Thunderbird (couldn't afford a Gibson at the time). I have heard a band from around where I am that have taken such an endeavor on, and it is very original. Just a thought, but if you would like, I would love to try and put something like that together.
Hey 36..thanks for the kind review...I've never tried a two part bass track before..yes I would love to try that..I'll contact you privately...cheers planet :)
Dark and foreboding, good, messed up kind of vocals. Nice bass work. This is a great track, as all yours are.
Enjoyed this very much. I really need to get through most of your stuff, as I play the bass as well and am always looking at different playing style. I don't have a 5 string fretless, fretted only, so I can't get that cool kind of gwah sound on slides. I admire your work.
Thanks 36....I tried my Fender Jazz first but sometimes that slippery fretless feel suits best...horses for courses I suppose...thanks again for the warm review..Cheers planet :)
But this struck a chord for one reason or another. Reading others comments and thinking about things, it just kind of makes me think back to when I was younger, and how it didn't seem so damn complicated. Need some of that rain to come around and get a good soul cleansing, know what I mean?
Damn, now I just want to go ride my bike and run around in the woods or build a fort or something.
I'm really glad it caused emoition. I write songs. Play the guitar and sing so that they get done. Just started this recording stuff. I write from my heart and my own experiances. And hope that people relate. Reviews like this mean the world to me. Thanks.
That's some funny shit. Good mix man. Very good. The end effect makes me think of the heart beat of the pile of clothes (apparently it needs to work out).
Good track, one that I listened to and could get a good picture in my head, although if the laundry thing hadn't have been brought up who knows what it would've been. Probably some spacecraft/futuristic/alien thing. I don't know.
Haha, yeah, it's outta shape or sickly. As for the desc story, I was just wanting to share what it made me think of (and serve to explain the remix name). Glad ya dug it. Lates!
You know Thai, listening to this with your avatar in the foreground... you need to be in porn dude. Those glasses are classic. Especially that last breakdown part with the lil slap part... porntastic.
I was thinking of trying something on this track, but couldn't think of how to tackle it. You did really well with this, the vocals sound awesome, and it has a great beat. As to torturing someone? Since when did you need a soundtrack to do that? My wife seems to do just fine with no music... Joke, god I hope she never sees this...
Very good track, I liked the switch and minimalism at the end.
Nice work. I was able to completely enjoy this, headphones on, head bobbin, and loving every second. I am with you on getting song lengths up. The ADD in the world of music needs to go, and love of the song needs to be brought back.
Yep, but ya know what's funny. If you go & listen to stuff from the 50's or before a good number of the songs back then were under 3 minutes. Like the early Rock stuff or Jazz, for example. My reasoning behind longer songs is that it means less stuff that's needed to be played during a session at a show. Glad ya dug it. L&R!
Thought this was a pretty good track. Needs to have a more prominent second melody and some huge bass, but overall a very good foundation to lay the groundwork on.
Man, I am glad I found your profile. All your stuff kicks ass. This reminded me a bit of N.I.B. by Black Sabbath, which is a favorite of mine. You can really play man, got some great sounds. Do you play the bass parts too? Or is that synth bass? If you would like to collab on some live instrument stuff I would love to play some bass lines to anything you need. Let me know, and keep up the great work. - 36
I liked this track a lot. It has more of an "And Justice for All" feel to it, which is awesome. No one in a while has emulated the early Metallica stuff, and this is very close. I love it. Extremely well done. - 36
