Thank you. I really don't know what mastering is. I'm not baled to understand stuff about the music. I just try to make it. Like the term you used by saying this is a "midi beat". I have no idea what that means. I was just listening to a song by this guy on myspace. He Is an older gentleman and his song triggered me to make this. I honestly am shocked by the good reviews I received so far about it so thank you.
i dont think i said anything about drinking the blood of the jews, i mean, that would way to kosher for my taste. but seriously yeah mentioning the jews publicly was probably poor taste considering i want to get into the music industry. wow i should quit before people think im racist, thanks for the review.
I am biased and partial to in your face drums, and I almost wished they were louder.
But I think the drums being subdued, really accented that subtle work in there, and was surprised how well this worked out for you. I would have tried to make people's ears bleed. (yes even in down-tempo lol)
Great synth/violin sounds. I really enjoyed the lines those sounds were making, the texture of the Highs and Lows.
BY FAR MY FAVORITE PART IS THAT PANNING GUITAR!! or is that cello?
Amazing sound right there under the rhythm, really MAKES this track, could it be made maybe just a smidgen louder? just a db? perhaps? I think it being more apparent would draw more curiosity, and would not deter the listener to the track as a whole.
My favorite part is your use of space. Not clouding this up with too much flamenco flair, but just accenting that yearning for this chick you are all about.
You can feel that.
It's like ... to me, does she hear you bro?? Why can't you just get it together with her? But when you do, you never really get to touch her, the memory just passes on thru... everytime. I am really pleased you caught one of these moments in this recording.
Alividlife,
Thanks for listening and sending such positive vibes. These expression we create are important. It's just nice to have a community like Looperman where we can share. Holding it all in would be no good for anybody. Thanks for the encouragement and understanding.

Dude, I have had a blast messing with this track.
I have heard Grotesks stuff and your stuff respectively. AWESOME stuff btw.
Umm, when I look at mastering I look at each instrument in the band, and how the octave range reflects each. Going with just the normal preset never works very well. I like to modify it, Audition, my tool of choice is good at this. There is a weird learning curve.
I just want to add, that you did an amazing job. I just wanted to collab really... lol.
But, there is HARD limiting (the best for loudness which I felt this track needed), Normalizing which is just the peak... or rms.. and then widening, and limiting, and all types of stuff I wish I wasn't messing with and just doing my own original recordings... but cant.
Sorry for the long post.
I wish I had that latency, and clear sound on my guitar to pull something like this off..
Time for a line6 i think.
Perfect rei.
You know, It made me think about Prefuse 63. You might have already heard, but there are awesome parallels between the two of you.
For example, your use of off sounds in the drum beat. Like weird samples, not generally thought of percussion.
Plus the awesome AWESOME KEY CHANGES. Don't hear this enough in modern music.
He was a mad man! I studied up on the guy, all of his stuff is amazing, almost a joke on the state of music standards (at his time)
Doesn't "Gymnopedia" mean "music feeler" or something in french?
I love this on a steel string guitar too, I play it all the time.
Great rendition. Never heard it like this, and You Sir, are the shit.
The midrange feels a bit subdued... almost choked a little bit. But after awhile, it becomes a part of you, like a new pair of underwear.
I LOVE THAT PIANO SOUND.. what do they call it, I remember hearing it on a digable planets song. Long time ago. Great sound man.
The whole composition is the rubber bannananananna pajamammamas.
(idon'tknoweither.)
What's that weird music called... Brain-sync... yah, you ever heard Brain-Sync Music? You might find it interesting. They use sub level harmonics and sound waves to heal the mind and body and inadvertently rip people off....
Higher kbs? Screw 128 kbs, this NEEDS 192 at LEAST.
The lossy cymbals bugged me a lot..
But this is... yah..
your good. Real good.
I like how it felt like it was in 2nd gear at first, but then you just let that string hang at the beginning, dropping the flow to third, but the whole time you were running people over. There must've been blood and money everywhere.
In between the sound, like each hertz, I hear an arpeggio.. like very lite. SUUUPER LITE, almost transparent mimicking or sub-harmonizing the main synth line. Do you know what I mean?.. Like a bell sound?... meh
This shit is the bomb.
Bring the vocals out more.?
Nah, you know what you are doing. Who cares what I think! Just my first opinion.

wow.. this is cool. Nice space. I love space.
I like loud snares, even piccolos, and this one is obviously a midi beat. But good.
I really like how you used the mixing of all tracks to fit the piece. I know it might sound crazy to you, but I don't sometimes.
I will remaster if you like? ( I remaster everything )
BTW, DUDE, if you get more involved, talking to other people and whatnot, you will get more plays, and you hear some new music.

this is awesome.
I think there might be too much specific midrange, just so you have the option of other instrumentation. But on the other hand... it sounded awesome.
I guess if you are looking for an accapella, drop some mids, so you have room for a vocalist.

It's weird.. You mixed Angry, but with major keyed stuff. (I am a minor key kind of guy) It causes the listener to double-take... just my opinion.
On the keyboard I would have purposefully hit wrong notes on a track like this. But tastefully fucked up.
But in all said, you are good. I dig.
