The vocals work really well with this, really good effort - well produced too. The vocals have a bit too much autotune for me but I get there's not much you can do about that. Decent! :)
Hey this has some real potential so hopefully you pursue this further. My first thought was that some strings, especially towards the end of the track might be a good idea. Good work though so far - please upload the finished track as well. Look forward to hearing it.
I really like this - lots of variation throughout which is always a big plus for me. What is bugging me though is the sax sound that starts up just before the 4 minute mark. Sounds really familiar, but can't place it. First thought it was really like something by The Prodigy but I'm not sure. Oh well, don't matter lol. Decent! :)
For the first part I ran my sax through my Boss ME80 pedal with lots of clean gain, reverb, "terra echo" delay, and I was using a freeze pedal to create intervals with endlessly sustaining notes (a trick I use on the guitar a lot with live improv).
The second sax sound is ran through my Digitech Whammy with octave mix turned on (the pedal range was one octave below to one octave above, which I played like a wah), then ran that through my ME80 pedal with distorted gain, reverb, and tape delay.
There is very little post effects on the sax (a little compression and saturation for the mix). I like my performed parts to be a true single take, which meant deleting and re-improvising till the whole take was "right" (my lip was sore). I'm the same way with guitar and MIDI. I don't like "humanizing" things when I can just play them. In live settings I may have 15 pedal parameters going at once, that change with whatever direction the jam goes.
Not sure what it sounds like to you, but I have been getting Prodigy comparisons lately. Thanks for the compliment.

I thought this sounded more like trance than techno or maybe that's just me. Reminds me of some of the trance tracks I have listened to from the late 90s in places though anyway and would easily fit in amongst those. Good work!
Hey, nice tune and liking the vocal melody. I would personally have preferred it if the vocal was a bit more prominent in the mix. Still a great track though. Good work.
Hey, my favourite part of this track is when it gets into full swing around the 1:20 mark. Are you planning to expand on this track? If so, I'd definitely work more with that section as it's a shame it only lasts about 30 seconds. So I guess my only complaint with it is I think the track should be longer :) Maybe a bit more emphasis on the bass as well, but overall really good work, well done!
This is really well produced. Would've been great if there was some variation in the drums, a fill here and there but still a great track. Good work :)
Hey, congrats on your first song. Nice melody you've produced. I would've made the drums a fair bit more prominent in the mix, but maybe that's just me, it's all personal preference after all. Nice work :)
This is a real nice chilled out track, has a great vibe to it. I would suggest though that it really needs a middle 8 or something I think to break up the track a bit. Other than that though, nice work.
Hi yeah this is a good start to the track. Not sure why it ends where it ends as it sounds like it is just about to progress and then it just finishes. I'm not mad on autotune if I'm honest so if that can be removed that'd help as well. Is this still a rough draft after 3 years??
Nice work. I like the strings especially. Be interested to know what VSTs you are using on this. The only really good orchestral plugins I've found are pretty expensive. One day I will bite the bullet and pay up, but yeah I'd be interested to know what you are using. Cheers
Thanks for taking time to listen, I enjoyed putting it together. I used mainly the Magix MM loops from their Film Score sound pool. I trawl the internet seeking free sample downloads and I do have quite a few Orchestra loops too. Nice job you've done with the acapella on this. Great track. By the way, in case you didn't know, the piano at the start is very similar to a track by Japan called 'A Foreign Place'.
Nice track, would say it's closer to chill out though, not trance anyway. Really like the bass near the end of the track especially. Could do with being a bit louder though - quite quiet. Overall though, nice work, keep it up!
Thank you for listening and for the feedback, I really appreciate it! I was trying to decide between "chill out" and "trance" actually, and in the end I just flipped a coin to pick XD
But I definitely will turn up the volume for the next version, that's helpful thank u
Nice track this. My only criticism is that I don't think this is a chill out track, I would class it more as acid jazz. A think a few more drum fills here and there would be great too. Well done.
I wouldn't call this pop myself but then I'm not really sure what genre. It's got slight dubby feel in places. It actually vaguely reminds of some stuff by The Orb in places actually. Good track though - favd
Hello Lek,
I apologize for the late response.
If I remember correctly you turned me
on to "Orb", I liked their music. Thank you
if I didn't thank you before.
Thank you for your listen, comments and suggestions
I'm glad you liked the track.
I'm a big fan of End.user and there's definitely some reminders in this of some of his more melodic work. I dabble in a bit of breakcore from time to time so it's good to hear something similarish here. Those tracks always take me the longest to produce as well so I get where you're coming from. Good work.
Hi, this reminds me of very early Depeche Mode (Vince Clarke era), the bassline slightly later - 1982ish. I don't know if you intend for this to be a standalone track or you want vocals. It needs vocals really I think or if not, some more variation in the track. It reminds me of another early 80's band as well but can't put my finger on who. Nice feel though throughout - well done.
Lek, thank you for your feedback, I always envisioned this as a purely instrumental track personally, but I could see someone with more talent than my self adding vocals to this. I am planning on revisiting this as I hopefully improve and seeing where I can add some new touches to it! Again thank you for the feedback and kind words! Inspires me to keep working and making music! Cheers!
