Hello Lek!
Now that you mention it ... really, there are few Reaper users here. I just don't know if we are a race on the rise or extinction hahahaha
Thank you for listening htis sound!
I'd say this is more pop than rock, but still a decent track. I agree with mudhoen about the vocals, applying some minor stereo trickery to them will probably improve the overall track a lot I think.
Hey altinb, I can see your sound is evolving over the short time you've been producing so well done my friend. You almost have a signature sound of your own which is pretty good going. I read the other comments, don't know if you've changed the clap but yeah that'd be my only slight criticism, could just be my personal opinion though. Just interested but is that piano a loop you've sped up? Interesting sound anyway.
Hi Lek, thank you for leaving me a comment i'm happy to hear from you the piano is not a sped loop, they are alot of sounds mixed in together to create this kind piano thanks for the feedback
I've listened to a lot of tracks on here where it's obvious the vocal track has been slapped onto an existing instrumental track but this sounds totally like a proper collaboration. It takes a fair amount of skill to achieve that when working with an acapella from here, so great work man. I'm not a massive fan of reggae if I'm honest, but yeah, this is pretty decent - nice vibe. Keep up the good work :)
Hi, nice vocals and it fits well with the backing track so well done on that. My only criticism would be that it feels like it should be a longer track. It kinda just ends without warning. If this was developed into a longer track this would be great.
I know The Clash and BAD, didn't know about this short lived band though and haven't heard the demo. Does sound more Clash than BAD though you can tell it's starting to lean more towards pop which carried through into BAD I suppose then. Good track though and well produced.
Thx for the feedback mate
Yeah it was just a rumor during lot's of year until a demo cassette appear few years back. Check on YT Top Risk Action Company there is some good stuff even it just a bunch of demos.
Really good this. I think this backing track sounds better than the original if I'm being honest, definitely harder hitting anyway. The original backing track does sound a bit dated now though, very much a product of its time.
By the way, you may remember listening to some of my non-featured tracks a while back. Thanks for all your feedback on those, much appreciated.
Thanks, Lek. I had forgotten that I'd left this track still tagged as "featured". I had meant to remove that a long time ago. I guess the original backing is a bit dated, although I definitely admire the way the Sigrid and her producer found an entirely different "take" on Cohen's original version. Minimalist, but powerful. A great contrast with her vocal, particularly as the song builds toward the end, and then dies back again in the final bars.
I don't know why, but it seems I'm gravitating more to trying to emulate stuff that I like (even really old stuff), rather than creating something entirely original. It's like I'm reverting to my teenage years when I was just starting out in music. Learn by copying. This track is a prime example of that.
Am currently working on the version of "Unfinished Sympathy" done by The Six, from Manchester. A really tasty updated EDM version of that classic track. I think is it not well regarded by some Massive Attack fans who consider it to be sacrilege, but I like it a lot.
I agree with theHumps - sounds like something from an 80s sci-fi film. The intro stands out in particular. Good work, especially considering if you're fairly new to it all. Keep it up my friend.
Hey. I'm actually working on and off at the moment on a track using this vocal. It's going to be a bit different to your version but the vocal goes really well on this. Great track, well done!
I think others have said this needs more on it. It sounds to me like it is crying out for a vocal and also drums to kick in at some point. Good starting point though for what has the potential to be a great track. Nice work
In places this reminds of me of 'The Egg' especially their earlier stuff. Have a couple of their albums so you can definitely take that as a compliment! Nice
I've listened to quite a few tracks using Looperman acapellas that sound like the acapella has just been mashed into an existing instrumental. That's certainly not the case here, can tell you've carefully constructed this around the vocal track. Very nicely done.
Thank you! I'm happy you are able to tell! I do that for all my songs. I start with the acapella and try to figure out a key, rhythm, progression etc. Then I just build from there.
Yeah I'm thinking this is more reggae with some dub elements. Think a reggae vocal would go well with this. Like the horn stab type sound you got going on around the 1 minute mark. Nice work.
I don't know if everyone will agree, but I always think it's better if a vocalist can work with an existing backing track rather than the other way around (at least in my experience) and this is proof of that. Really professional sounding track this. Well done to all involved :)
Thank you. :-)
I think it's a matter of preference, level of comfortability, and some other stuff mixed in there. Haha.
The "backwards" process isn't for everyone, and I certainly tip my hat off to those who do it so well you can't tell which came first.
Thanks for taking a listen and your comment. :-)
