Hi Ev....this is great!...Lots of influences here..I especially like the guitar segment it gives a great change and breathing space to this production....I think this piece has enormous potential and could be worked into an absolute classic..the hooks there.the middle eight....just needs a defined ending.......just my take on it....cheers planet

I dig this...It's got a slippery different time groove...also things that at first seem to clash change the mood into one weird ride....cool....planet

on Buds Drumming Fusamba by Buddrumming
Whoa!..Bud this is simply marvelous...I haven't come across any other drummers on this site....You are the man!...In so many instances it is the drummer who really holds sway as to whether a tune makes or brakes it.You've got awesome chops with pro timing....Every time I hear drumming like this I think of all the drum machines and loops that inhabit the music on this site and how inadequate it is compared to this...tips me lid....cheers planet

You know I've had a good listen to this and in it are the ingredients of a really mystical number....it's not perfect...it never can be....but it is close, very close to achieving something....I don't know what...but it's happening............planet

Ok BT...I'm going to give this an honest appraisal.....I love what's going on with the vocals, the pauses, the passion, the simple power of it and how the drums whip up at the end of the vocal line and then hurl it into the next verse...........Now here's the rub-overlying this is this way too busy cacophony of noise(I know it's labeled industrial-but to me that's just a tag to fuck up a potentially solid number)If this had a serious framework-main groove-chorus whatever-you would be cooking with gas...I'm not trying to mess with your poetic license..(it's only my opinion)but lets face it every person or group if they keep at music hone their skills and get tighter and better..that's what I feel is needed...because if you do you'll just jump and I mean jump.........also If you ever want a bass line..give me a bell......cheers planet

thanks for the very honest review! this was the second song we ever wrote, so yeah things are overly busy. i've thought about going through and just totally reworking it but the file itself is ridiculously busy so its hard to know where to start. but thanks very much!

on The music lived here; Jump the Q by SLAPJOHNSON
Tenor sax is way cool, but then again they all are.....Q..How come the humble liquorice stick has lost it's foothold in popular music?..I thought if anyone could answer this it would be you.........You just keep pumping them out Slap......and believe me we are all grateful for it........diggin' it...planet

Hi Planet, thanks for the review. I know exactly where your coming from in regards to the clarinet. The clarinet is such a wonderful instrument and it has fallen out of fashion in popular music. I teach jazz clarinet and this is a more exciting avenue in pieces and studies for the majority of my pupils, but what we need is the clarinet to find it's voice back in pop music then it will stop being uncool. It's strange I was having this same thought just the other day, so guess what! The next song I do will feature the clarinet and hopefully our Looper friends will share the same respect as ours for this cracking instrument, cheers Slap...

on A Cloud Full Of Angels by PsychotropicCircle
Like many of your tracks,I am at once intrigued by it's apparent complexity and the ease by which it transforms within one's consciousness into vision.....The genre 'Ambient' is totally inadequate for this piece as it is fully functioning metaphysica in action..........excellent...cheers planet

As speedy as this is,it's coherent!....maybe a little break in the tempo might allow the listener an intake of breath..now and then!.....But that's only my spin on it......I can see where dealing with some serious attitude here....and that's exactly how it should be........I dig in your face sounds..keep it going....cheers planet

The high jump just turned into the pole vault!.......When you can hear the space and timbre of silence between the notes of a song, you have really stepped up in the music making game....This song is drenched with it!!.....full marks!..............cheers planet

You know... I am a huge fan of dynamics in music. The guy who pushed me to sing in public in the first place was huge on that... he'd play Wayfaring stranger on his guitar and have me rapt. I try and remember that when I'm doing recordings and try and keep some level of dimension in the music. I am not responsible for the music on this one, only my vocals and my vocal mix but I couldn't resist sharing here :)
