Great work! really impressive! i hope you don't mind i have used your song in my youtube video! i have given you credit in the description and a link to this song to help you out :)
The quality of your images is impressive. I would never have thought someone would use one of my trax to illustrate a documentary ! I love the idea, thx a lot for sharing.
T'was nice to fly above the ground :-)
Just, maybe the song is a bit too loud, I don't know. It's a "side order", not the main dish ! haha
Merci beaucoup,
Plenty of light,
Carole
Aw what a sweet word (shadowed) you used, Danke !
It feels good to be back to the fam... I hope you're fine.
I'm very happy you came across this and left a few words,
Plenty of light,
Carole
Welcome back! We missed yah!! I love this . Avant Garde, melancholic and slightly dark.. Just what I love in my music listening pleasure. With just a touch of the mid-east. and papillons!!! awesome ending my dear. loved this!!!! Can´t say enough good things!
Cru
So many compliments that honour me and touch me a lot, Cru. A big merci for the joy you give me as I receive the energy and the kindness of your words.
I missed you all too !!
Plenty of light,
Carole
I really like this rendition....vocals and actual singing are great...my only little complaint would be that you need a little bit better mix and mastering to make things even more splendid, but all in all excellent job!:)
Hello Orlando,
Nice to see you came by and stopped for a while :)
Yes indeed you're right about those really difficult mixing-mastering things.
I guess I haven't got the right equipment and the technical ear to go with it. I just try to do my best.
I wish the fairies of sound engineering had bowed upon my cradle! haha.
Well, I thank you for your positive criticism and will go on trying making progress.
Merci :)
Peace
Carole
Hi Carole
nice to meet you here again .
what a nice song & cover .
oh I missed my someone who is lost & seems no one knows where is he here !
you have an angel voice , you know ?
Elena :)
Hi Elena,
Happy you liked that lil thing, Lady. Thx a lot for your gentle words.
I don't know how angels sing and I'm sure they do so much better than me! :)
Sometimes you just stumble upon a song that mutters or even shouts something to your heart. That's what I felt, rediscovering by chance that one a few days ago.
Friendly & supportive thoughts,
Carole
Peace
Beautiful Version. You know this is not a love song per say, but a cheeky (Machismo) song bout sex and the coercion young men (Foppy faux metal hair band singer-gutarists from the eighties) do to young women to "get some" as we say.
The more we know.
Cru
Hello Cru :)
Well, now that you tell me that, I guess that's a possible interpretation which I wasn't aware of at all, haha.
Still, the artless girl in me still likes to have a first degree look upon it. Sthg like "showing your love to me is as important as speaking it". That's how I sang it and feel about the "message". Arf... what a noodle I am sometimes! (most of the time, but sshh...).
Anyway, thx for your visit and for enlightening me, Sir.
Peace,
Carole.
Oh thanks for your kindness CyberbugBOB! It really makes me happy if you had a "new" perception of that song :)
Thanks to you for your real nice words.
Peace, Carole
hello
this is so fine and pleasant to my ears but I have few questions to ask.
Is the guitar a loop? It sounds like it is. What about the percussions? Seems like there are definitely some.
What about 3:23 slight detune? Was it intentional?
Hahahaa
Apart of all that I find the recording very cool sounding and soothing - you're definitely a favourite female vocalist on here.
Alex
Hello Alex,
Thx for your nice comment :)
Well, I found the instrumental version of the song and just sang it.
I guess the guitarist knocks his guitar while he's playing.
Yes, the detune is intentional, that's the same in the original song.
Merci for your words. I really tried to be make it sound tidy and I'm not good at mixing in general, due to poor equipment.
Happy you enjoyed the listening.
Peace,
Carole
Wow! My favorite singer is back!
And what a track!
What you do in the first section is really remarkable: not many people could sing with such a "minimalist" background. You are a real talent!
The second part is a bit more "standard" but very well executed and spot on (maybe a more "fluid" transition at 2:00 could help in "gluing" together the two halves).
I have only complain, but it's a bug one:
I WANT TO HEAR MORE SONGS FROM YOU!
Oh hi my friend! :)
Happy to be back and read from you here & there!
You're right Domenico, this sounds real awkward with these too different parts. I should've worked more on it but I'm so in love with that beautiful song.
Daccordo mi amico, I'll upload more thingies asap.
Take good care,
Kiss & hug,
Carole
hello.
the first section sounds really stylish. The transition around 2:00 with male choir is quite strange but that second part is interesting. Overall those 2 sections of the track seem a bit disconnected for some reason, at least to me. I guess it was intentional so I won't bother.
I just checked the original on yt. Your vocal version is definitely much more western-influenced but it is still very evocative. Your vocal possibilities are really impressive.
I enjoyed listening, Thank you for posting this song. Alex
Hello Alex and thx for your nice and detailled comment :)
You're right about the intended disconnected parts. Sounds a little awkward, I know, but I wanted to create a sort of soothing after a tensed beginning. Sthg like a hopeful opening.
Merci for your visit & words,
Peace,
Carole
Oh, it's so good to hear your voice again, and the improvements you have made through life experience! I know that I have heard this theme before, and it makes sense as I used to listen to gypsy music several times a week. I feel for your dark times, as I know that there is so much pain in this current. I'm just happy to run across one of your songs in the rare moment that I feel like listening to streams now. Thank you for sharing! Fave!
Hello Spivkurl :)
Merci beaucoup for your encouraging and supportive words :)
I used to hang around with gipsy people once and discovered a brilliant culture, be it musical or cinematographic. Just wanted to pay a tribute to those friends.
I'm real happy you know (and recognized that theme, lol).
Thanks again,
Peace,
Carole
Erm.. thanks a lot but what's that "though" at the end of your sentence ? I don't get it, I'm sorry.
You're right, I did use some Persian instruments. I love them and thought they matched the thing well, that's it :)
Merci for your visit & words,
Peace,
Carole
Unbelievable pipes Carole. This is the first track I've heard of yours, so I have to make a point to check out your repertoire. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I have no idea what this song is or have any familiarization with Bregovic's work but I do recognize and appreciate a beautiful voice.
Thanks for letting us sample your amazing talent.
Hello Neomorpheus,
No need to feel embarrassed at all, please !
None of us knows everything and everyone, huh ? :)
I do thank you for your very nice comment (and surely undeserved !).

I like the slightly gothic mood of the song. Those weird middle eastern loops on top are very good too, they add to the mystic feel of the song.
Vocal melodies are excellent! This song just needs someone to mix it and really make all the sounds bit more clear and fatter.
But dont get me wrong, this is quality stuff! Merci beacoup!
