Yeah, I've been trying to make good some of the half done tracks i've had floating around in the background. So far this is the only one thats made it to the end.
The vocal sample was a freebie from FL studio and it was just pure luck that i decided to peruse the demo projects and see if there was anything i could pilfer. There's some quality stuff in there and i'm suprised i don't hear more people using them to be honest.
The trippy vocals are courtesy of the fruity slicer. It just automatically chops your wavs up into whatever sized slices you want to work with and assigns them to the piano editor. It's a great tool!

I`m way late catching up with this one (but I`m way late for lots of stuff lately)...really nice use of the delay on the keys..gives the melody lines a nice push...thought the vocal was a little quiet in the mix though it sounds really good and so does the rest of the mix...for some reason the track just quit on me aroynd 7:23...but that might be this old PC I keep on line...Really nicely done FR....Ed

No, the track does just quit for some reason. I need to do another conversion and reup it. I have no idea why it did that and it's pretty annoying.

No worries man, I've turned the downloads back on now if you wanted a copy. I just wanted to see how much difference it made with regards to how many reviews you get. "A lot" would seem to be the answer. I'm gonna turn them all back on now. Nobody likes a Scrooge now do they? lol

Ripper! It is good to visualise what you might be doing as far as automation and filter use is concerned and I like your style. Another quality track from FreeRad. Whether it is cut and paste or not, I always think it's the putting together of all the elements that is important and I certainly would be none the wiser if it wasn't mentioned that samples were used - it's all about the finished article and keeping listeners interested and you have not failed. Thank you for the listen FR and also the download. Keep flowing dude.

Really nice track - flows very well from start to finish. If there were a few more "asian" sounds it would sound like the Ghost in the Shell (SAC) intro. You've done a really good job mixing the vocals and fx together - definitely my favourite of your tracks!

Nice on CJB, Sorry i took so long to reply. Laziness is a virtue and can't be learned. I still like this track and i think a remake might be on the cards at tsome point. Lost the original file unfortunately.

Mr. FreeRadical...First off i saw where gave me permission to download that track for my daughter(she was the young lady you saw on my last profile pic) Anyway shes thankful for it even though i haven't done that yet. now lets get back to this track.what i like about your sound my friend is you seem to have busy tracks which if your not good at what you do, it can easily run away from you...But you seem to be able to harness all this with ease... the mix, the samples. its like a master skydiver.who can do anything he wants while falling @ 120 miles an hoour...and stick a perfect landing every time...Nuff said ...this is badass!!!

Very Nice my Friend. But if i understand u had used Loops? Selfmade or just 1 of this "cool" buyable DVDs? What ever....ver cool Track and much respekt from this Side of the World....may u have Time and visit my Side again.....try "Fruityloops". Wanna have Comment from u. All Sounds are selfmade over VST. May the Voice or the Base are allready Samples but the rest is 100% 7th XD. So long and best Wishes.....u know good Music my friend.

Thanks man, All the drum beats came from a pack called drum addict from the primeloops web site. i got the vocal parts from an acapella by Nepaul on this site. I wrote a couple of the synths and a couple of the loops but that was it. The rest was all just filters and purchased loops.

Well, now that I`ve been listening to some of your tracks I know where to check when I need a bit (a lot in my case) of genre education...If I had been listening to this in my band days (just after the last ice age) I would swear somebody had slipped the goods into my brew....but, you know what...I`m getting to like it....its partly your fault FreeRadical....really did enjoy the listen...so now I have to go apologize to my ol guitar....keep on man.....Ed

Bet you didn`t use that matchbox & toothpick thing in this one FreeRadical...love the beat man..Have used a few techno beats in my own (mellow) stuff once in a while as I don`t pay much atention to genres when something sounds good....this sounds dm good to me....nicely done....Ed

You're right there. I lost my matchbox so in this one, i used an assortment of various sized tupperware containers and a large hamster wheel.
Joking aside, It's mainly a product of prime loops. I wrote the arps and acid sounds but all the drums are premade loops. I can't take too much credit for this.
I might see if i can find a vocal to chuck over it.

It's essentially an advert for prime loops really. I did a few bit's and then added the filters but i just thought i'd let someone else write the track for a change. I'm too busy with this Eurovision song contest malarkey lol.

Thanks Carlos, I'm gutted to have been away from the site for so long as i've got a lot of people to catch up with. I remember people complaining about not getting enough feedback but if you take a break for a few months it seems to be the exact opposite. wow....that is some smokin guitar playing by AllenV...amazing guitar chops definitely on display (If I could to borrow about 10% of them I`d consider myself dm good)....But then, the whole mix is just superbly done...I have to confess that D&B is not a frequent listening choice but now it looks like I best pay a bit more attention.....great work guys....Ed

Thanks Tumbleweed, It's not a typical piece of drum and bass in any sense really but that's what i like about it. If it hadn't been for Allen's participation it wouldn't have been anywhere near as good so all credit to our resident axe man for taking part and doing his thing.

I like this one a lot. Catchy as hell chord progression using cool synths. The "air" around it makes it lean toward Electro and I like that. Don't know if it is, but much of it sounds like some cool filters being used. Good work put in this one man.

Thanks mate, You're right. There's a lot of filters i used on this. I love LFO's and filters. They seem to add more edge. I'm just gave the bass a little bost so hopefully it sounds more full than before.

Well i have to say that put a smile on my face this morning. I thought i was a bit long in the tooth to be "down with the kids" but an endorsement from your nine year old son and your daughter fills me with much encouragement and i say many thanks to all three of you.
To be honest it was Allen that did all the cool sounding bits so perhaps i should digress and pass the compliments on to him.

FR...Honestly i would have taken the model...tjis production is off the hook!!! makes what i do pale in comparison...you took a really good vocal pella and made it great!!...i'm glad i get a chance to form a relationship with a great producer....keep up the work

Thanks man, Your comments are always so inspiring. I wouldn't say i'm any better than a lot of other folks around here. I think we all just settle into styles we like and then after a while you figure things out that work for you huh?
I hear stuff in your pieces that i would never have thought of doing & it gets a more soulful part of me than the stuff i make. When i try that kind of stuff it never seems to sound quite right for some reason.

Mixes are always superb... i know cut and paste is a drag especially if you take a vocal and its supposed to be one bpm and you find out it's not right?. You truly have a sound all your own. Glad you enjoyed this track. I'd like to do more work with patricas vocals but i struggle as she likes to sing in styles i'm not very familiar with. I guess practice is what it's all about. Thanks for dropping by and checking out this tune.
