Sounds good man! I like the mix the phased instrument and overall feel of the track. The electronic elements and effects to the song really add to the atmosphere and groove. It drives forward like a Queens of the Stone Age song. YUP!

The effects definitely stand out, you can actually feel that you've worked hard on the track.

Best regards,

I like it tv ! Is that a flanger or phase shifter effect on the guitar? Good start on another cool track. Would sound good to work in a lead and a key change or bridge would also help improve the structure.

Yes it is an effect from Guitar Rig 5 VST Plug in.

Thanks for the listen and comment.

Solid rockin' track tv and very much sounds like the Zep with Jimmy on his Les Paul. You can really play man ! Yeah I love your variations with the chords and finger picking combinations, sweep picking, hammer-ons, pull-offs etc. Very reminiscent of Pages playing style. Zeppelin was such a great band! Man listening to this I may have to get the Led out and go immerse myself. Love it tv, instant fave !

Thanks, Neo. Yes, Zep is one of my all-time faves. The first 4 or 5 songs I taught myself on guitar were Zep. Stairway was the very first and then Black Dog followed by Rock and Roll. They basically got me into guitar and music in general. I appreciate the kind words.

Cheers.

love the guitar play. I'd say let a breath a little and let the guitar have moment to shine alone. basically a nice break

I agree. It has way too intense a feel. Thanks for the listen and feedback. Oh and for not telling me the drums basically suck. :)

Great guitar sound and skills mate it works well
And yeah get the drum less repetitive and bit stronger in the mix (more compression on the bass drum and snare) and the track will be top !

Nice authentic jam session sound. The drums got a little repetitive, might want to mix them up a little.

I dig the sticks in the intro.
Laid back groove with a nice rhythmic push and pull from the rhythm guitar.
What are you using for dirty leads through this?
I like the backing guitars growl and the drums seem to fit well. Good stuff.

It's funny you say that about the sticks intro. I have been going through old tracks I have left on my computer and I constantly felt like I need to revisit JamStix again for my drums. They have a certain realistic feel you just can't get with AD or EZ Drummer.
I pretty much use the same thing for all my guitar and bass sounds. Guitar Rig 5 I believe it is. Lots of great sounds in there.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. Always much appreciated.

Super cool self-jam session here! I was happy to visit your profile and notice something uploaded this year!

I thought the guitar tones were pretty sweet, and your playing style was flowing and enticing as usual. I think you were born to make music like this!

I can't help but wonder about the title, as in if it was put in place before uploading, or if it had some long ago reference. It could mean different thing at different times to different people. I like that in a song!

thank you for sharing this!

topvega replied 16th Sep 2017 - 6 years ago
Hey, Spiv. Thanks for giving it a listen. I did upload it this year but it is an older project I found on my computer. This is the kind of music I kind of gravitate towards. Bluesy rock is what I was raised on. If I remember correctly the title came from the fact that I had been working on this track for awhile and it was a long time coming till it was completed.
I plan on uploading some newer stuff soon. I have been working on getting better at singing as I am constantly told my music works better with vocals. I don't know any singers so I have to try and get it done myself.

Thaks again.

Nice southern sound, lonestar music? I definitely dig the overall sound and you have some cool chops on that guitar. Some of the transitions seem less fluid though and that takes out some of the overall punch this has. Also i really think its the wrong snare drum on here, too high in sound, might be taste though. Keep it gritty, cheers man

Thanks brosef. I suck at drums and don't really know how to alter shit. I really need to get better at flushing things out and cleaning my tracks up. I tend to move on to the next song in my head.
Thanks for the listen and feedback.

Hi Topvega,

On the strength of this bluesy rock song, I'm listening to all your tracks on Looperman. Much like Neomorpheus said, this takes me back to playing in a live band (and getting paid next to nothing, but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world). I'm marking this as a fave, because it speaks to my heart. Gotta shake a tail feather on this. Great job.

Thanks again.

Great find man ! Its really fresh and raw sounding. This brings back so many memories of playing in bands. Kind of like when the guitar player starts it off with "hey check out this new riff I came up with", and then the other guys will jump in and you end up jamming on it for 10-15 mins. And then its usually forgotten. Is this you and a band or what? Cool track bro, I dig it.
topvega
topvega replied 20th Aug 2017 - 6 years ago
Thanks, Neo. This is me on Guitar (rhythm and lead), Bass and Keyboard. Drums are Jamstick.
It was pretty much the process you described. I came up with the guitar riff and changes and then just went back in and improvised the lead and Organ. Bass was just played like the rhythm track, nothing fancy. I had just started out on bass after playing the guitar for years.
I appreciate the listen and the kind feedback.

Cheers.

Reminds me of "Tangled up in Blue" with the intro chords. Never a bad thing. I agree with the monster magnet reference. There is room for tambourine and shakers. Def vocals would light this up. Groovy piece man.

Oh yeah, this rocks! I would call this rock. 2 shredding guitars is always a good thing, imo. :) This is Friday afternoon, driving home from work music. Def will pump up the blood pressure.

You could always replace the drums? No worries.

Thanks, Wayne. I appreciate the kind words and the listen and feedback. I, unfortunately, lost the Master to this and a bunch of other tracks in a computer crash. I have been debating about going in and trying to re-record them again.

?It's only rock n roll but I like it like it yes I dooooo!
I'm rubbish with genres. The heavy stuff I listened to as a youngster was Sabbath Groundhogs Hendrix Edgar Broughton Band.
Never got into metal.
This for me is heavy rock and near perfect heavy rock at that.
The drums?
You tried using loops cut chopped mixed layered?
topvega
topvega replied 23rd Jun 2017 - 6 years ago
Ha, thanks. Yes, love the Rock and Roll. I love everything from The Doors to Zep to Metallica.

The problem with the drums is I used the shitty drum track to work with and lost the Master in a computer crash before I could switch them out. So this is what I am stuck with.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback.
