I know all about forcing oneself out of the "comfort zone" (I come from extreme metal and attempt to dabble in as much as possible).

As far as genre goes, I'm a music lover not a genre lover. Genre categorization is for critics, and non-musicians that need a way to organize their tastes. It's not a bad thing, it is just not the musicians' responsibility.

I would be wary of being a "purist" with most things. And don't worry about trap in everything, pop absorbs the cool and makes it lame, so it will kill the cicada beat for you, I give it about a year, and the genre another 3 or 4 for the "purists" :)

And, great mix. Nothing wrong with "4 on the floor" if it sounds good. Nice bass and pluck choices as well. The hats are a bit wet on the reverb, but it seems to fit.

Also, if you want to "break the mold," try some 7th and 9th chord substitutions, instead of open position and bar chords (generally speaking), to spice up the harmony (just a thought).

I gotta say you made an awesome tune. But as I was listening to this and hearing your punk background, I think you could mash in some punk to this tune and make an amazing cross-genre mix. I know Europe's metal scene has increasingly dipped its head toward EDM and electronica (Metalcore) but also adding in some roots of thrash and black metal. Genres are mixing because we are listening to such diverse music now (since it's easily available). The future music revolution that will usurp corporate pop will be the mixing of genres.

Great groove and I was specially digging the piano parts. This has a real uplifting happy vibe. Someone mentioned fat boy slim, I think I hear echoes of that too, maybe the piano. But I really love this, nice work man. Geez and it's disco, who would have thought lol

Hi MrAxel, I actually heard your track yesterday; but decided to listen a few more times again today. I really like the various sfx that occasionally transitions the track; the sounds are all pretty crisp and the track is quite chilled but also moves, I give that to the nice keys. A really good listen for my morning. Only thing for me is that it did get a bit repetitive, as the main keys and drums go for a while. A little change somewhere to divert a little while keeping the theme consistent would be good. Keep up the great work.

Great sound production and a really nice nu disco feel - bright and warm with a wonderful groove and momentum to it with very clever instrumentation and sweet melodic lines - really well done : )

i like the groove man. I would walk with this shit in my head to buy flowers for the person i love. The composition is like 70´s aftermotown kind of thing. There is also this littly cheecky piano you going there :) it reminds me a bit of fatboy slim but in a good way. This shit is ready to be played. I can imagine a Jamiroquai-type voice on it.

Mr A, are we not glad your back, you disco diva you, this has a 'can you feel the force' the real thing kind of ring to it, I likey likey, nice riser drop at the intro, great melody,thank bass and a simplistic disco snare to carry the pace, cracking return good sir, staring memories of my early clubbing days, jitterbugging to this kinds stuff :))

So warm, easy to listen to, the repeated opening leads to a great female vocal you score a big A from me, along with a fav, love the synth in the background,. I've been working on a similar synth that I added some panning to so it plays across your headset left to right great job my friend

Tried to reply to your comment on my bell jar blues track but LM threw some sort of fit. Thanks mate, I'm just glad you got it! But actually the short (less than 1min) track pseudoble gave me already had a cool mix of blues and country/blue grass (?), I just gave it a twist. And to be honest, to me it's a pale imitation, and clearly derivative, of stuff Beck was doing back in the day. Try his Mellow Gold album for some true genre bending sounds. That's a true classic album for me. Anyway, i'm looking forward to hearing more tunes from you mate!
